The thing that pissed me off the most is when they were attacked at the campus and he changed to save his best friend's and Amber's life. According to her she knew at that time yet what does she do to him when he comes back as Mark? Complain. Why are you complaining? He just saved your fucking life!

@@Demigah I did think that, cos I read it due to the show but season 2 isn't gonna come out until 2023 so I've heard and I have no regrets, I think the bit that the show covered was done better than the comic but that's cos the comic was very early and they hadn't really gotten the art and writing down, but man it's gets good and when I think about moments I think of them as moving scenes rather than just pictures and text, I would srsly recommend it. As a whole its the best story I've ever experienced better than any batman shit imo and as I'm sure u can tell by my profile pic imma pretty big fan of the bat

Also... Amber? I hardly know her.
Amber was angry Mark wasn't spending enough time with her because he was off saving people's lives. She was also angry he didn't tell her his secret identity she figured out for herself, but never mentioned or hinted that she knew. Then got mad at him for prioritizing saving countless people's lives over getting to their dates on time. Never mind the fact that he was going out of his way to get gifts or trying to do other thoughtful things for her to make up for it as she herself said. Or that he was almost killed a few days ago, and was in the hospital for around 6 days. Amber had every right to be mad that he was late when she didn't know he was a superhero, but as soon as she figured it out, and still wanted to get mad at him for not being on time, she lost most empathy she had from me. Keeping his secret doesn't mean he doesn't trust you, that's not the reason superheroes keep their identities a secret from their loved ones most of the time, it's just a way to try to keep them a little bit safer(both you and the superhero). And probably a fear of rejection.
So keeping information that could put her in danger a secret, all the while making sure to buy her nice gifts, leave notes, and doing his best to maintain their relationship and balance a life he's still new to makes him an asshole- because he wasn't ready to tell her yet -but her keeping it a secret that she knew is fine, even though the more responsible thing to do would be to just tell Mark " Hey, I know you're Invincible let's talk about how it's affecting our relationship."
That's a five-month relationship at most, and he's been a hero for at most 9 months at this point(I think). She thinks he should be ready to tell her his biggest secret and that he's stringing her along just because he likes her but isn't ready to give up his biggest secret?
He wanted to make it to all those dates, it's not his fault villains were attacking. He can't plan for stuff like that. He didn't even tell his best friend, whom he's known for a lot longer, and he was lying to him for just as long. He saw William less than he saw Amber, and William understood just fine. Sure, he's not romantically involved with Mark, but they're still close. I can understand her being mad at being lied to *if* she wasn't also lying through omission about knowing he's Invincible. But she knew for weeks that he was putting his life on the line to protect her and other people, and was still mad that he disappeared to save William and made a point to belittle him publicly for it. Even though she knew and saw that it was Mark getting his ass kicked by the cyborg while he was protecting everyone there.
I don't think Amber can handle a relationship with a hero, but the comics handled the relationship better. In the comics, she thought he was involved with drugs, and that's why he was making bad excuses and missing dates. She realized the truth after talking with some friends about him, and they consummated their relationship. Her reasoning that he's making her feel stupid and unimportant kinda goes out the window when he literally does everything he can to keep you happy, and all you do is make crappy jokes and complain, the stupid thing is especially dumb since she knows he's a superhero and that the best superhero team on the planet was murdered a few months ago, why wouldn't he be cautious about who he tells? You called him out on his excuses for being late and he bought you an $800 gift to make up for one missed date. How are you feeling stupid or unimportant? Everything is already about you, and your clearly smart enough to figure out his secret identity.
Eve showed that she wanted to start a relationship with Mark, but when she saw that he was with Amber, she backed off and even tried to help them stay together. That's someone Mark could realistically have a relationship with, without all the drama that comes with dating a regular person.

She reminds me of Iris from CW's The Flash. In the season finale of season 3, Barry had to go into the Speed Force because it was destroying the city since it needed a prisoner. Barry comes back the next season and Iris had the audacity to accuse Barry of leaving her standing there alone, as if he wanted to leave her and didn't leave to save the city. Plus, her friends and family were there with her, so she wasn't alone. I hated Amber even more once I realized how similar she was to Iris.

At first I wasn't too mad that she was mad at Mark it's understandable to be mad at your boyfriend when he ditches you when a killer cyborg comes out of nowhere but the second she said she knew he was invincible I lost all sympathy for her because you can't be mad at the guy who's legitimately risking his life everyday to save people this guy keep getting his ass beat routinely and you're mad because he doesn't have the time to hang out with you every second of every day you are not more important than the lives of thousands of innocent people you need to get through that to your noggin

Boyfriend or not there's a reason why superheroes keep their identity concealed. Even from their friends, family and loved ones. Because of a villain found out that heroes identity that villain would attack that hero's school that heroes family their place of work or whoever they're dating. The CW on their Flash show. Barry Allen's mother died in the first season because of super villain from the future. Figured out his identity went back in time to when he was a child and stabbed his mother in the heart. In season 2. Barry's ex-girlfriend Lisa Park gets attacked by zoom. Because zoom know who's Barry is and everyone he loves. Zoom also kills Barry's father. So if Amber got kidnapped by a super villain. In Amber being the petty b**** that she is would most likely expose his identity out of pettiness. Because he missed the dinner because he was saving the world and would expose him. In the show says that she and him had only been together for 5 months that ain't enough time to trust her with your secret identity. That's like trusting somebody you only been dating for a couple of weeks with your credit card social security number and the keys to your car.

I think what makes it worse about Amber’s behavior is how she’s OG white in the comics yet acts reasonable and happy after finding out Mark is a superhero and even takes pride in it. It looks fucking bad when they change her skin color to black and then makes her act unreasonable as hell! That of course is gonna look REALLY bad to the black community when they make the white girl reasonable and the black girl abusive and UNreasonable. Not to mention she didn’t even show interest in Mark until AFTER! Mark started showing interest in Eve, not only that but didn’t she blackmail the bully into getting mark’s info??? I know he’s a bully but still that’s horrible.
It scares me for what’s gonna happen in the future, like not only did this chick compare the understandable lies Mark told her to the lies Omniman told Mark, but like how is mark gonna get out of this abusive relationship???? And what about Anissa? Spoilers! 🚨
In the comics Anissa rapes mark in order to birth a viltrumite child then tells Mark and I quote to “ *MAN UP* It will probably take a few times. I’ll see you soon.” Before flying off-which is pretty vague to me because idk if that means that she got pregnant from that one assault or if she came back and raped Mark again until she got pregnant. Not to mention when Mark attacked her all she did was taunt him in a sexual way IN FRONT OF OMNI MAN! Who of course from my knowledge never found out mark was raped. I’m scared that they won’t show the rape scene which they really need to because Invincible S1 blew up and got the coverage it deserves and showing that a man can be raped without any censorship could bring coverage on the fact that there are male rape victims out there that are told to just “man up”, so this needs to be shown as well as show how mark goes about it. But I will hope that if they do change anything about it it’ll be that Omniman does find out what Anissa did
The sad part is, Amber and Mark’s relationship was apparently far better developed in the comics. She still was suspicious of his mysterious absences but when he revealed his superhero life, she was mostly just glad that he wasn’t a drug dealer and that at least as a superhero, he was doing something good. But this also did wear down on their relationship as the demands on his superhero life made their relationship progressively less relevant and they both decided it needed to end, deciding to be friends instead.
Show Amber’s anger at Mark is developed in a way that makes her seem egotistical and unreasonable, only able to see that she was lied to but not consider that Mark (who is also guilty for going into a relationship thinking he could keep such as massive secret without issues arising, as the best relationships are built on mutual understanding, respect and trust) would likely have to withhold his double life to protect himself and his family and wouldn’t want that information to spread.
Both are guilty in this relationship but only Mark is treated as guilty by not just Amber, but also his own friends, the narrative itself taking Amber’s side only. It’s not bad to have soured the relationship with Mark’s secrets but to treat him as the sole perpetrator lacks nuance and not only makes it frustrating that the relationship will continue but also apathetic at worst when they eventually do definitively break up again, as it isn’t a relationship a majority of audience members will miss.
I literally just painted my image me being in Manhattan and my mom being the dark Phoenix and my dad being cyclops and then when my mom died the dark phoenix chose me to be its next successor and then I go to a Super hero academy then I make my superhero team
Now thinking about the amber breaking up with me over being a superhero I wouldn’t want that I want a different girlfriend that’s also a superhero so we can be superheroes together

I don't think Amber is a bad character. They just gave her bad lines, and people got confused. She was perfectly fine before and if they had just eliminated that one line nobody would hate her. I really hate Invincible. The show is so boring and known of the characters I found very interesting. I'm so tired of protagonist who are sad about not having super powers but then get them. We really need more Batman/Iron man inspired heros.
What I hate most about this show is so many people act like if it wasn't for Amber this show would be perfect. This show has a lot of problems and Amber is just the top of the iceberg.
But regardless ambers character is a complete annoyance in both the comic and show that’s why he doesn’t end up with her she’s toxic.
