Nissan Patrol (Y62) 2021 Review | Should you wait for the new Land Cruiser 300 or get this?

  • The Nissan Patrol is the last of its kind, sporting a naturally aspirated 5.6L V8 in 2021, while the rest of the industry is downsizing and going electric. This off-roader is priced around $30,000 less than the Toyota Land Cruiser, leaving the question of: should you buy a Nissan Patrol, or spend a little more to get the upcoming Land Cruiser 300 Series?

    Unusual review. Why the mood music towards the end?

    I too struggled to watch the whole review. As a current patrol owner and EX-LC200 owner I can confirm the fuel ecomomy is nothing like your ill informed opionion describes. This may suprise you but the Patrol is better than the LC200 on fuel usage and your ridicouls fuel ecomomy figures claimed are a direct link to your right heavy foot that cant resist the feel of 298Kw that LC owners dream about. (just look up the LC modification lists as those guys try and atempt to get those things going)

      @@ProductReviewCars hahahahah now thats an educated responce from a seasoned vehicle tester! So all V8's must be thirsty based on your proffesional opinion and I guess you could be right if you compare them to a Pirus hahahahahaha?

      @@richard4136 To be honest. Would love to have had it for a longer period of time to hopefully see a lower fuel consumption fig. But the week we had it, I was stuck in a 5km radius during lockdown, so that was the figure we attained in a hilly urban environment.

      @@ProductReviewCars well you need to explain that in your review and the conditions you travelled under. It would have been better to say nothing about the fuel economy if you cant do a proprer test or comparrission. Taking that type of approach would build you some respect and creability I belive!

    Is that some kind of flocked lining (carpet like material) lining the rear wheel arches? If so, it might help mud and dirt stick to the wheel arches. :-(
    When engaging low range, the transfer case automatically locks the center differential. Nissan should offer a means of disengaging the CDL when in low range, because low range is imminently useful for backup a huge caravan or boat, but having the CDL engaged means the driveline will fight when steering lock is applied and the vehicle is on high traction surface, e.g. boat ramp, caravan park. It will just chew up the grass at the caravan park. :-(

    This or the LC300 like buyers have a choice lol it's the patrol unless your prepared to wait 2+ years.Patrol is the true Nissan product the beauty of this is Renault hadn't stuck its beak in this so its truly bullet proof in terms of reliability .as soon as Renault has input it rips reliability to sheds

    • @ProductReviewCars
      @ProductReviewCars  Před 2 lety +1

      Absolutely true. There's rumours that wait is up to 3 years now. Would be good to spend that extra cash on the astronomical fuel bill if you choose the Patrol instead.

    • @aussienscale
      @aussienscale Před 2 lety +2

      @@ProductReviewCars Are you kidding mate !! astronomical fuel bill !! suggest you educate yourself on real world fuel usage between the Patrol and LC200 which is the like for like comparison, not a new LC300 with a almost 4 year wait and a different powerplant.
      But if you want to compare with the new LC300, how about a real world comparison test, on road, off road, towing, not towing and see how they compare to bullshit manufactures numbers from the glossy trade presenter :) And not relying on the cars readout, they are all crap, fuel in, K's out is a more accurate way.

      The only thing in the sheds are the patrols that try going the mile of the Toyota labdcruiser 😉

    hello Cameron.
    your comments on this vehicle appear to be sum what miss leading in the manner you deliver them ...
    about the rear seating and access and egress my stature 171cm approximately 5'8?
    and 1962 model..so not so flexible...any more and I have room to travel..more the my cousins Toyota 200 series.....witch I have travelled 200ks in the 3th row more than I would like to do again.. the y62 patrol in witch I have been in as well..has more leg and more head room...
    and a smooth ride.
    less road noise..
    I'm troubled to think your not giving a .....?..
    well let's say reiw that you have really looked into and personally tested correctly to its full potential of the vehicle....
    UK quality vehicles sold through out the 🌎 even australia as small as the market is here..has the wood grain interior...I'm now board with your input about vehicle reviews...
    kind regards ken

    I'm presuming you are pretty new at this gig and I congratulate you for having a go BUT sorry I really struggled to listen to you, till the end. Can I suggest that when you do a Product Review, make it your own, evaluate it yourself and give us your own unbiased opinions NOT just regurgitating the same old shit from all the other ill-informed, biased, muppets on Ytube. Also just another small gripe, Motors run on electricity and Engines run on combustion. All the best with your channel.

    Maybe a bit of research on the vehicle prior to making the video. Things like the tow bar and the chain hanging….then the talk of the light plug to plug in your electric brakes trailer. No. You need a brake controller. Not standard. Tow bar, not standard, and who wears thick gloves while driving and needs the big buttons……hmmmm

      @@ProductReviewCars not correct, the fuel consumption is not much different to the 200LC and in fact its better then the diesel in the toyota when towing. i dont know how your fuel consumption was so bad without flogging it. i get 13L/100km on country roads and 18L/100km when in sydney traffic. I even get under 20L/100km when towing 2.2tons
      for you to get 27L+ you must have been flogging it or the previous driver did and you didnt reset the computer. also my figures are real world with over 40k Kms of driving a series 5
