    5 Secrets For Dinka’s Height.
Hidden in deep in the incredible continent of Africa, South Sudan harbors a tribe of towering giants, averaging a staggering 6 feet 4 inches. Behold the planets's tallest inhabitants. Join us as we unveil the five secrets behind their towering stature. Smash that like button. Now. And welcome to Afroartista Films.
    1. Genetic Heritage and Natural Selection.
Genetics play a pivotal role in determining a population's physical attributes, and the Dinka are no exception. Studies suggest that their remarkable height can be attributed, at least in part, to a complex interplay of genetic factors. Over generations, certain genes associated with growth and development have become prevalent within the Dinka population, leading to a higher average height compared to many other ethnic groups. Furthermore, the process of natural selection has likely contributed to the Dinka's stature. In the challenging environment of South Sudan, where access to resources can be limited, taller individuals may have had an advantage in resource competition and survival. This advantage could have translated into improved reproductive success for taller individuals, thus passing on their taller genes to subsequent generations.
    2. High Consumption of Animal Protein and Dairy.
The Dinka people have historically maintained a pastoral way of life, relying heavily on cattle herding. Their diet is rich in animal protein and dairy products, which are vital sources of essential nutrients for growth, such as calcium, vitamin D, and amino acids. These nutrients play a crucial role in bone development and overall body growth, contributing to the Dinka's impressive stature. The consumption of animal protein and dairy has likely provided the Dinka with a nutritional advantage that supports their continuous growth during childhood and adolescence. This dietary pattern has enabled their bodies to reach their genetic height potential, resulting in the tall stature that characterizes them.
    3. Early-Life Nutrition and Hormonal Factors.
Nutrition during critical developmental stages can significantly influence an individual's growth trajectory. The Dinka's tall stature may be partially attributed to their early-life nutrition practices. Breastfeeding, for instance, provides essential nutrients and hormones that are instrumental in promoting healthy growth. Additionally, the Dinka's diet, rich in locally grown crops such as sorghum and millet, provides a variety of nutrients that can positively impact growth. These nutrient-rich foods contain vitamins, minerals, and other bioactive compounds that support hormonal processes crucial for growth and development during childhood and adolescence.
    4. Physical Activity and Lifestyle
The Dinka's lifestyle, centered around cattle herding and agricultural activities, demands substantial physical exertion. Regular physical activity during adolescence, a crucial period for growth, can contribute to enhanced bone density, muscle development, and overall stature.
Engaging in physical labor from a young age can stimulate the release of growth-promoting hormones, such as growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). These hormones play pivotal roles in skeletal growth and overall body development. The Dinka's physically active lifestyle, combined with their nutrient-rich diet, creates a synergy that potentially amplifies their growth potential.
    5. Cultural Significance and Social Selection.
Cultural practices and societal norms can also influence a population's physical attributes. In the case of the Dinka, their tall stature holds cultural significance and is often associated with beauty, strength, and social status. Within Dinka society, height is admired and sought after, and taller individuals may be more likely to be considered attractive or hold positions of leadership.
This cultural preference for tall individuals could lead to a form of social selection, where taller individuals are more likely to be chosen as mates, leading to the propagation of tall genes within the population. Over time, this preference for tall partners could contribute to the observed high average height among the Dinka people.
The legacy of the Dinka's stature underscores the fascinating interplay between nature and nurture in the mosaic of global diversity. Thanks for keeping it Afroartista Films and don’t go to far, the next video is just around the corner.
Special thanks to Blessed Giants for their amazing song.

Would you say that the Dinka stand out from the rest in height or is it just that utubers always film the tallest Dinkas? Which other tribes would you say are tall? I saw a clip of Mundari, they looked quite tall. And what about the Luo tribe of Bahr El Ghazal and the Anuak and Shilluk? I'm a Luo myself from Kenya but I wouldn't say we're anywhere near Dinka. I also visited the Acholi in Gulu but those Luos seemed even shorter than us so I'm curious about our cousins in Sudan. Is it admixture that made the Southern Luo shorter or have we always been like this? I'm 6'1".

Hey I just wanted to shed some more science under this video. There has been many videos behind the reasons why the Dinka Tribe are so tall although their science has since been disproven by a study done as recently as 2020 (Such as Drew Brinsky). The science in this video is actually accurate I just want to prevent misinformation being spread about how populations adapt to different environments.
Although the Dinka are quite tall it actually isn't because they are adapted to hotter climates (Sub-saharan african populations seem to be an exception). This is because taller stature would actually give added heat retention. People use Allen's rule as an explanation for the tall stature of East Africans although it states populations in colder climates will have shorter and thicker extremities RELATIVE to body size. For example a polar bear although being much bigger and taller than sun bears have much shorter and thicker limbs relative to their body size. Anyways we know that Bergmann's and Allen's rules apply due to a lower surface area to volume ratio being advantageous for heat retention.
So why would it be disadvantageous to taller in hotter climates? This is because you can actually model a person using cylinders as their trunk and limbs while keeping the aspect ratio the same (same BMI) and you will see a 17% decrease from a 5' to a 6' person in surface area to volume ratio (tall-skinny beats short-skinny). This is the reason why the majority of long distance runners tend to be on the shorter side. In fact you could take this a step further and even exclude the natural widening of their skeleton and still see a decrease.
This is why in European, Asian, and Native American populations you will actually see a positive correlation between latitude and height (Populations are taller in colder climates). Unfortunately it seems the public has largely misinterpreted these rules although actual anthropologists agree that being taller would be advantageous in colder climates. In fact it has been explicitly confirmed in this study done in 2020.
    www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7075806/
I highly recommend anyone who is reading this who is also curious to read my article here to learn more (includes an explanation for the tall statures of Pacific Islanders).

So can you give me the conclusion? It is possible to increase height at any age?

    • @peachsucc9831
      @peachsucc9831 Před 7 měsíci

@@Maheswa576 People typically evolve to be taller in colder climates while shorter in hotter climates. African populations are an exception to this which is theorized to be due to sweating. This is backed up by hot and humid climates (sweating isn't as effective) having the shortest and smallest people in the world (pygmy tribe).
As for increasing height if you are under the age of 21 it could be increased by eating a lot of healthy foods. At any age you could also supplement HGH but I am pretty sure that is illegal. Although I am not as knowledgeable about increasing your height.

The Dinka’s hight is simply genetic, if you have two tall genes you are most likely going to make tall children. almost all of the ppl you see today were born & grew up during the civil war & they were not in South Sudan where they can practice their culture or even had enough to eat but, were just surviving on next to nothing in other places like north Sudan & other countries in East Africa like Ethiopia, Kenya & Uganda as refugees where if they eat even once a week they were considered very lucky. They didn’t drink milk not even for children & they are still tall. if those things make people tall they would be all giants in Asia & in the western world today because they have a lot of it here. Another thing some were born in the western world like us & all my brothers & cousins are all between 6.11-7.7 tall.

So maybe us Caucasians are the tallest light skin people? This doesn't seem true as well because it seems like tall height is more common in northern China than in Europe as well. Tallest dark skin people and tallest overall are the Dinka and tallest light skin people are the Han Chinese in northern China. Well us Europeans aren't the shortest height people as well because Africa has the Pygmy and Asians are usually short in south Asia and southeast Asia so us Europeans can claim we have the highest percentage of middle height people, lol!
