Alex’s striking is levels above Hill. Alex is also the bigger stronger fighter between Him and Hill. Alex is going to finish Hill in under 3rds
Haven’t we heard this before other fighters having more “weapons” than Alex, and Alex is going to have trouble
in the grappling department, but time and time again Alex came out victorious. Jamahal is a big challenge and
can and will give Alex a challenge to overcome, especially in the early rounds. I think Alex is got “Sweet Dreams “
figured out and knows how to approach him and will get the job done.
Well this time the real test awaits. Glover helps Alex to prepare for these fights, especially the ground game, and Glover basically already beat Jan within 2 rounds and Jiri (he threw the fight with 30 seconds left, but basically was winning against Jiri), so he could prepare Alex for these guys ground game etc. With Jamahal Hill the probelm is that Glover didnt have one second of success, like he got beat up brutally for 5 rounds, and Hill even held his own on the ground against Glover. So this time there is really only so much Glover can help Alex with, to fight Hill. Jamahal Hill is extremely well rounded and I think he is better than anyone in terms of mixing it up with standup and grappling. I also think Jamahal is the only guy who can beat Magomed.
Btw jamahal was out of action from a long time, Alex being an active fighter and had fought tough opponents in his career has a competitive edge over jamahal

Hill's weapons not gonna work when his lead leg is chopped of and his body is being hit by Pereira. Hill's not gonna wrestle and that could look like how Sean went away. If u dont take's Pereira's striking seriously youll gonna hit the canvas. Izzy knew that he only had that one chance to be in alex's pocket and hit right behind his ear to wobble him. That's what he did. He didn't want to go five rounds againsg Pereira because he also knows he is a superior striker.

Hill is more well-rounded than Pereira. I can see Hill winning round 4, tko. If Pereira wins, it will likely be by a unanimous decision. Pereira would have to outclass strike Hill because I don't think he would get the knockout or finish.

I dont think I care for Hill's grappling, Infact I think its fairly bit overrated because of the Glover fight. Now don't get me wrong, he's no chump on the ground, but in my opinion, his standup is going to be a serious problem for Alex. Lets start with the elephant in the room, Hill is a southpaw, this is going to make Alex's general tools like low kicks more difficult and plain awkward to use. And Hill also posess' a lengthy range, yet despite that, he can work exceptionally well on the inside. And I know I said Alex's kicks would be a difficult tool to utilize, but even if he does find a way, Hill is great at timing kicks and finding openings with nasty cross. The Santos fight is a great example of this.
Still, I am rooting for Alex, but this is not the easy fight that fans will have you believe it is.
Glover was finished! Jiri took all the fight out of him and Santos has been done for a long time. Hill isnt on the same level as Alex and see it being an easy night for Poatan
Good breakdown. I agree with the same viewpoints. Hill can throw volume in the pocket Alex has a basic kick boxing defense stance. He keeps his arms extended and relies on it heavily and doesn't move his head as much... I believe a basic 1, 2 can breach Alex's defense, maybe rock him at some point. Alex needs to stay careful and should expect this... aside from Alex's left hook, Jamal needs to just be cautious of the leg kicks. If Glover can take Jamal punches I'm pretty sure Alex can too. But idk Alex seems a lil sus and chinny at times when he gets hit

It's a discourtesy at the very least, to park a non entity in an non entity fight, ahead of a WC, in an important fight - it matters who wins this fight for the division. But the wrestling fans. If they haven't discovered UFC by now, will they ever? First head kick, they'll be choking on their BBQ, finding they have no patience with this foreign nonsense.
It's these fighters that have people persisting with UFC, but the UFC don't get that. They think manufactured stars and endless rigging gets it done. It doesn't. It's the fighters people really like that keeps you hanging around.
I think that's true, that Jiri doesn't have a style. I'm a striker. I'm a grappler. He doesn't do that. Whilst predictability is death, having styles to fall back on to free up thinking/assessment energy, is no bad thing and Jiri still has mannerisms and methods he resorts to, which can be studied. His willingness to keep coming forward... well, it can be used against him. But that then gets us to that ridiculous early stoppage. Not a single strike thrown on the ground, they are in that position because Jiri has wrapped his arms around Alex and deliberately brought him down with him. Quick, end it, Alex is now vulnerable and looking like a fish out of water, Jiri has regrouped and ready to dirty it up. Outrageous thing to have witnessed.
It always sucks when the dynamic fighter, the one taking risks and making the plays, loses.
Alex Pereira is different as a LHW. He is more conservative, timid, uses a lot less of his skill set. Is it self preservation getting to the belt? Will he change in his first title defence? Or, the calbre of the LHW opponents is just lightyears ahead of MW?
I love the guys who love what they do. It's a profession, they are professional athletes, they study and hone their skillset. I hate the endless chatter about money. They can STFU about it. Jiri never talks about money. One of the reasons I like him.
