And remember, that was 9 yrs ago!!! Imagine how great he is *now*! 😳🤯 He also beatboxes their entire concert and does his solo partway through! The man's not human! People have asked him how long it took to learn his craft. He always answers, "I'm still learning!" 😉👍 Believe it or not, his drumming is even more realistic and precise now. He truly is amazing.
I wish I knew who said this originally, but: "People are always saying Adam Rupp's beatboxing is super amazing. But apparently it's considered pretty average on his home planet."
(This also explains your question about breathing, btw. We're pretty sure his kind has gills.)

Beatboxers can make sounds when they inhale as well as exhaling. I believe they call it circular breathing. Thanks for your awesome reaction.
Love Adam Rupp & his insane talent. He is the best out there in my opinion. He simulates the sounds of a drum perfectly. Many drummers have commented on how good he is. He sounds so realistic. His breath control must be crazy. I heard he makes the sounds both while inhaling & exhaling. This was a few years ago & hard to believe but he is even better now. Adam is the glue that holds Home Free together. He is their secret weapon which other a cappella groups can't match.

Adam is the world champion beatboxer, as I call him the living soundmachine.
You might want to check his newer drum solo where he uses a looper station to layer some of the sounds. What more can I say he really sounds that good. I think he gets better every year. He and homefree never stop amazing me of all the things vocally all of them can do.
A month and a half and I get to see them again down in Tx. Just think this was from 2015 and he is beyond next level these days.
I don't know how many times I've watched this performance by Adam, but every time, though I KNOW what's coming - every beat and every sound - I am STILL so impressed I just smile and shake my head. Thanks for your reaction to it! Keep em coming!

9 years ago and he just keeps getting better. Nowadays he uses a looper to beatbox, sing and harmonize with himself and it's mesmerising. If you ever get the chance to see Home Free live, go!

Yeah that’s what I can’t understand….how does he breathe??? I guess he inhales and exhales while doing those sounds but how??? Adam is a marvel. Super talented and he does a solo at every show!!!! My goodness!

Beat boxers have a technique called "ingressive phonation", which basically means making sounds while breathing in instead of out. It has two main uses: making deeper bass sounds than the regular voice can do, and getting air into the lungs without stopping the flow of sound. You can see a particularly clear example from Layne Stein in VoicePlay's cover of Enemy (at 1:58), but a lot of beat boxers do it, and _presumably_ that's how Adam was breathing during the long no-break sections here, though I'm not sure which of the sounds he was making were done that way.
If you ever get an opportunity to see them live, don't let the chance pass you by. You won't be disappointed.

Breath Control is really hard, but key. As a former professional sax player, you take very quick, short but deep breaths. It’s tough. I also had to learn what is called “circular breathing” where you breathe in through your nose while exhaling through your mouth at the same time. That took me years of practice. Yes, Adam is just “sick” on his performances. Great reaction from a loyal Subscriber. 🎷
