- PuppyInTraining... - The KONG Wobbler is an interactive food dispensing dog toy. It is very useful as it can be used (as in our case) in place of a dog bowl to slow down your dog or puppy's eating. Our black Labrador Retriever is a fast eating dog and often times chokes on his food and sometimes vomits. Today, we're doing a KONG Wobbler Dog Toy Review to see how it performs with our fast eating dog.
I've just bought one for my adult Staffy, she wasn't really getting the principle of it so I put a little bit of smooth peanut butter in my hands to warm it up and smeared the outside of the Wobbler - a little goes a long way! She absolutely loves it now.
Great Tip! Thanks for sharing.
Smart. Thx for sharing. That sounds very messy tho 😅😢
I love this for my bull terrier Jack Russell mix. He has so much energy and is so smart. This keeps him entertained for about half an hour. My only complaint is it’s hard plastic and not the original Kong rubber
My dog picks it up and throws it. More kibble falls out that way. She loves it, but it's now for outdoor use only. I value my walls.
That's funny! Stetson picked up his Wobbler, but he never tried to throw it against the walls! You have a smart pooch :)
I love how you said "Best of all, no choking or vomiting!" Classic lab. :)
I love your Kong Wobbler review. That's the reason why I bought one for my german shepherd pup coz she inhales her food in a second. So, when I saw some of the CZcams videos regarding fast eaters, they recommended the Kong Wobbler. Now my pup loves this food dispenser. Thank you for a great review!
We LOVE this toy! All Kong products are incredible well made and totally worth the price. They last forever, and like you said, it really helps pups who eat too quickly.
Thanks for showing this. I have a pug and got the smaller version.
have truly never! taken the time to comment on a CZcams video before. This was excellent and answered all of my questions! I commend you for putting together such a helpful video! Thank you!
Thank you! I'm glad you found the video helpful. Stetson helped me put this one together many years ago. He didn't roll it around quite as I expected. I've seen other dogs take a different approach to the wobbler, but for whatever reason Stetson didn't really knock it around like I though he would. Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you for reviewing! I’m looking into getting one of these and this really helped! I think I’m going to try it out since we do have some area rugs my dog can use this on.
Fun watching. Thanks
Excellent review! Thanx for that!
My dog(s) had a LOT of fun. The bottom of their Wobbler was solid. eg NO sound when shaken. my shih tzu used her paws more or less straight away;
That made the toy wobble throwing out the treats., This continued ad infinitum for quit a while with nose pushes; paw slaps; running at it etc, A nice, well made dog toy.
My dog almost choked today while eating, it scared the life out of me. once he was ok, I went to the store and picked up one of these. What a great investment!
Thanx for your vid.
paisa007 I'm glad the video helped and good to hear you're dog is doing well with his new toy/feeder :)
Yep, that's Stetson for you. He was the worst when he was a puppy. He pretty much choked or vomited at every meal. Every Lab I've had has been a speed eater, but Stetson still wears the crown!
If your dog pushes the wobbler with his nose. Try putting peanut butter on the top of the wobbler. That way he will learn to wobble it. While licking the peanut butter Kibbles will fall out.
I'll look into reviewing the KONG Classic. Thanks for watching!
That's what I lab pup did too. Just bulldozed it aroung the house so I fixed it.
I bought a plastic cutting board from wallyworld. Took an air filled plastic dog ball we had and ran a screw through the center of the cutting board, then through the air filled ball which collapsed once punctured but still has elasticity, then through the bottom of the kong that was emptied of it's sand with a compression nut to top it all off. So the kong can more or less move side to side on a spongy ball base like a punching bag. The dog stands on the cutting board by default and that keeps it in place while she bats at it. It takes 30 minutes to empty out a cup of food so my wife and I can enjoy our morning coffee and the internet without being nibbled litter mates.
Our border collie loves this. :)
You do NOT need to buy this, just put dry doggie kibble into an empty water bottle and your dog will paw at it around the room to cause pieces of kibble to fall out of the little hole bit by bit...
My staffy loves to chew plastic bottles unfortunately.
How can I get my pup to play with hers she is a year old and all she does is sniffe her kong and licks it and barks at it
tilt it on the side next to her, excite her so she starts running after it when you tilt it and push it away from her..she will get it :)
Also add some of the more enticing treats so the smell piques her interest more than regular kibble would
Oh this was years ago... did it work out fine? Lmao
