The second coming of Jesus
I work 24-hour shifts and found that I was squandering my precious down time on screens. Once I transitioned to paper reading materials and doing nsdrs with my hat pulled over my eyes, it's been an enormous Game changer. Not only am I able to function better with the critical aspects of my profession, I'm able to have more restorative sleep on my off days. It's worth acknowledging that these magical little devices we carry around with us all the time have billions of dollars worth of technology and research behind them to better keep our attention. To be addicted to them is very understandable but it's just as real and harmful as many others sorts of addiction❤
Yoga Nidra or NSDR is simply amazing and heavenly 🎉
I discovered Yoga Nidra (NSDR) almost exactly 2 years ago, and have only missed about 6 days in that time. I do a 15 to 25 minute practice every night before bed, but I also do them in the mornings that I'm feeling particularly anxious. I sometimes fall asleep as soon as I've done my breathing exercises, but I don't get upset with myself. That just means my body needs the rest.
The practice is incredibly relaxing.
yup! I Just learned about yoga Nidra this year! so happy It found me:)
Im waiting for stanford's decision. If i get in, first thing ima do is go there and give this man a hug for all that's he done
my NSDR usually becomes SDR. I use it to fall asleep. It works, Im happy. Thanks Dr Huberman :D
We are So fortunate to have your wisdom available here in CZcams Thank you
Yeees, NSDR is a game changer! Love doing it also for deep nervous system healing. 🙏🏼
Do it right before bed. Give yourself a 10 hour window from when you close your eyes to when you wake up an hour of that being NSDR and then nine hours of sleep.
Deep nervous system healing?
@@ZxAMobileThis is a lot of hours you are recommending. I thought he said it helps when you are lacking sleep, not when you have extra hours for sleep.
HE HAS LEGS !!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 W comment
It has really improved my life tbh
I love NSDR! I generally sleep well at night, so I do it when I feel like I need a nap. It sometimes actually leads to me falling asleep, which is partially the goal anyways!
I do NSDR specifically to sleep and it's a game changer. Before, I don't know how long it took me to falll asleep but now I do in less than 10 minutes or around 10 minutes while using the script. Definitely teaches you how to focus and calm down
Is there an app or CZcams video you recommend? My sleep recently is just awful ☹️

I used this video this morning because i didn't sleep much and i had a test to write.

Definitely calmed me down and I even felt a bit sleepy, but still gave me a sense of replenishment and readiness for the day. I haven't tried it in the evening but I think it will work well for falling asleep too.

I do his NSDR twice per day. Helps
The light and painful electricity keep me awake 🦋🐝💕🌸
This is very true and effective.Thank you so much Dr.Huberman.
I do this every day, lying on my Shakti mat, after 30 min of simple yoga. So many scripts available on u tube, like 'happy trance' hypnosis. Great!
NSDR is something I first experienced backninnthe 80s with a substitute music teacher at school. Not knowing that it was Yoga Nidra I continued to use it periodically when I was really stressed late & night & was having trouble falling asleep. Since Andrew discussed it I have used it primarily before starting my day on nights when I haven't been able to sleep or only got 2-3 hours of sleep, & it has been a huge help to be more alert & productive throughout the day whike consuming much less caffeine & or kratom.
It could be dangerous if people do not prepare well or without a guide. Of course, we take it for granted...❤
Has helped me TREMENDOUSLY
Did this 15 years ago. Nothing new. But good that it reaches a bigger audience ❤
Yoga Nidra is the original yogic name. Yoga has given us many amazing tools for wide range of benefits on mind, body and soul level.
It’s yog nidra
Awesome, I'm in!
I do this almost everyday and it's incredibly helpful
Absolutely!!
Thank you
This really helped today. Have used Huber and 10 min nsdr video a few times to get through work before and it helps
Give a new name to ancient Yogic techniques and promote it 👍
It’s *Yoga Nidra*
I concurr,ty
The category of NSDR includes hypnosis scripts, regular meditation and guided meditations/visualizations that are different from yoga nidra. Also Huberman often mentions “yoga nidra”, so I respect him for that.
Very difficult to market to very left brained people unless you make it sound sciency. And he does call it yoga nidra alot of the time.
czcams.com/users/shortsYhVkYsS5kcQ?feature=share
He gives it this name so that more people will be open to doing it. So many people roll their eyes when they hear anything that sounds like Eastern medicine. Sad but true. Also, NSDR encompasses more than just Yoga Nidra but is mostly just Yoga Nidra.
Wow amazing ❤
I often fall asleep in the middle of it, no matter if I do it after my Pilates to relax or to beat the mid-afternoon fatigue.
Yog nidra ❤❤❤
I tend to fall asleep when doing nsdr hence I always need to set an alarm😅
It's called The Holy Rosary! ❤❤❤
What are the first two?
❤
How many of us fell asleep? I woke up as the meditation ended. 😅
Always put an alarm beside nsdr i fell two times asleep😂 while taking nsdr .. but yes it is awesome not just learning like u studied for hours take nsdr u will feel refreshed
❤🙏
I love his 15 minute youtube script and do it so often, it helps me so much - definitely will look at this app though. Thankyou!
You're so welcome!
I wish there was a three hour script for nights when you don’t have time to sleep. But, have enough time to lay there for three, two or 1 hour(s)
try the Virtusan czcams.com/video/yM8pSoIQy9c/video.html Physiological Sigh produced in collaboration with Dr. Huberman :-)
I call it imagestreaming. I let my mind run into visualizations. You would be surprised how detailed some of those images become after a while. If you get the hand of it you could even solve problems or come up with solutions to situations
Image streaming is a related technique, and it may fall under the NSDR umbrella, but it's different from clinical hypnosis and classical yoga nidras. It is indeed very useful.
Passively??? My adhd demands very strong focus to even finish 😂
Me too. Just keep trying because it is the trying that counts not the succeeding. It's a journey
Headphones, 432 hz and close your eyes
Just think your own thoughts, the “program” they have is nonsense.
@@ZxAMobilethe whole point is to avoid thinking your own thoughts.
I cannot do mediation, my body start to get uncomfortable and there is an urge to move myself. The pain starts too
Do it more often then.
Just downloaded the app. Will definitely try it out soon
Are you practicing it now ?
@@jatinsharma3101 no
Why?
10 minutes NSDR > any 3 hour nap
It's yog nindra
Should it be done before or after learning?
What's the difference between NSDR and meditation?
Nsdr is yoga nidra 😂
NSDR refers to non-sleep deep rest. It is an umbrella term that covers clinical hypnosis, yoga nidra, and related guided meditations, visualizations, and relaxation techniques that can produce a profound state of rest within body and mind. Meditation more broadly refers to absorption. You become deeply engaged with an object or process, and the more you do it, the more immersed you are in the experience until you feel at one with the object of meditation or the process of observation.
“If you didn’t have enough sleep”.
Every mom/parent:
(In seriousness as a new mother NSDR has been incredible.)🙏🏽
Is it free?
Im a deaf person. Wouldn't it be a problem if I let my eyes opened while doing it? So I can read the subtitles
Yoga Nidra???
What are the prior two important things to do every day?

Love the flexibility!!
Is the app free?
The Virtusan app provides practices, and routines at zero cost as well as paid for content. :-)
Is nsdr joganidra?
So a power nap or meditation
Here's how:
Headphones that cancel environment. 432 hz vids, close your eyes and breath
What is the name of the app he is talking about? And is made yoga Indra or something else?
👁👁❤️
So can I sleep 8 hours using this method?
Can consistent NSDR help you reduce your sleep need hours per night?
I need 9 to 10 hours of sleep per night to feel refreshed in the morning and anything less than that I am a zombie.
I am desperate to find a way to reduce my sleep need hours.
Not sure if it directly improves quality of sleep (I’d guess it does slightly simply because it reduces anxiety), but it helps me get to sleep faster so it could definitely help if it takes you more than ~15m to fall asleep.
Although, there are a lot of other ways you could improve quality of sleep to reduce the amount of time you need to sleep. Diet, exercise (especially cardio), sleeping in a completely dark and cool room, and basically anything you can do to reduce anxiety could help. Also, don’t take caffeine ~8 hours before bed, don’t drink alcohol ~4 hours before bed, don’t eat big meals before bed, and don’t supplement melatonin regularly unless it’s been prescribed.
What is first and second?
Its called Yoga Nidra!
cant find anything besides the 10 minute nsdr in the app :/
Hi Monk, if you go to your "tools" section in the app you will find the NSDR tool, an intro video by Dr. Huberman, and the 20 & 30 minutes scripts :-). Thank you!
Did you find it? I marked the ten minute one so I can cue it up when I wake before sunrise; again around afternoon low energy to start my ‘second day’; and also sometimes at night which puts me right to sleep
Is thieve any difference between this and meditation?
NSDR is a subset of guided meditations and visualizations, including yoga nidra, and clinical hypnosis. You can check out several different versions on my channel.
It's just
'yoga nidra'
it's really beneficial
@virtusan you might want to look at your ratings and get more! 1 star only aint great.
Just sounds like napping/meditating ?
I just pray to God, easy, done.
This app may be an atheist prayer effects simulator, although it doesn't do a lot of other things prayer does. Including the most important our relationship with God.
What if you fall asleep during it
I know I'd fall asleep
I always fall asleep, have to put my alarm if I'm doing it on my lunch time.
damn hes fine
The thing is that I sleep while doing nsdr😭...like seriously!
It’s good but always sends me to sleep
Is this not the same as meditation?
NSDR (Non-Sleep Deep Rest) can be considered a form of meditation although the intended purpose, and method differ in some ways to traditional forms of meditations 🙂
NSDR = Yoga Nidra
Yoga nidra😊
Very smart. He added at least 12 inches to his original height and no one noticed.
Despise people yakking at me.
Could I do this while working and listening on my headphones so long as I’m totally concentrated on what I’m listening to or is that not possible?
The practice is most effective when done standalone in terms of activity. You may not be achieving the full benefit if you were to engage while simultaneously working or multi-tasking.
That is called *YOGA NIDRA*
This is ai generated vedio this is not Andrew huberman
there is no 30 minute
Please find the 30 minute script within the Virtusan app :-)
Qur'an. You would be shocked
i love how stealing content and making your own youtube channel out of it
His wrinkles have substantially increased since he began uploading videos on CZcams!
It's true! I think it's only been two years, maybe he's just been working much more
If he'd listened to Dr Stanfield he'd have been taking his collagen and hyurlanic acid.
Its just Yoga Nidra. Just do some yoga Nidra and stop with these fancy new Words.
So meditation? Lol
“Improve focus. Try yoga nidra”. There fixed the title. Why is this guy hell bent on renaming a yoga practice that has been going on from antiquity. First he coins a new term and then completely detaches it from its roots. Wonder why is that 🤔 I dont see one mention of yoga nidra but he conveniently copies the same techique to sell his app.
He addressed this in a podcast; he claims that he’s trying to reframe it in a way with language that’s a little more accessible to people who have never tried meditation. Not picking a side here but that’s what he said.
@@DSRelax-em3sd yeah. His logic seems a little sus though. I do like his work and listen to him regularly and am thankful to him for popularizing yoga nidra to wider world but wish he saw that renaming well established things is not a good thing. He likes the knowledge of yoga nidra but thinks his audience doesnt like the culture it comes from. So instead of working to promote the original name, he renames it and it conveniently helps him sell it with new branding without much competition. Its not the first time english has added foreign words. Nobody has renamed yoga to something like “ non sleep stretching and alignment” so i dont see the need to recoin another term for yoga nidra either.
@@sabindevkota8461 I’ve only been doing yoga nidra for a few months now so I’m not super passionate about the issue. But honestly, putting myself in the shoes of someone who’s been doing it for years (and/or for whom it might be a significant part of their culture), I understand why him branding a very similar practice as NSDR is a bit shady and might be frustrating. Also, I agree that him monetizing it at the same time isn’t the best look.
Seriously how much do you want to push this shit really. Hate me now brothers.
