    I grew up with this game. Also loved the hawk series. This game is vastly underrated tho it is such a fun time and getting this game 100% is actually quite challenging. Highly recommend. Also I just discovered this channel but if you need an idea for next April fools or whatever, jet set radio and its sequel are truly wonderful games

    Easily the best review I've seen of this game on CZcams. I'm a inline skater myself and have considered buying this game to play on rainy days. Out of the three reviews I've watched on CZcams, your's is the most sincere. You says what you like and don't like about the game and have played skateboarding games so you can compare it with them. That brings a whole other dimension to your review. Thanks Rad Rat

    Yeah dude, check out Rolling for the ps2/xbox. It's another inline game. It's a bit rough around the edges but I had great fun with it once I got into the groove & adjusted to it. While I don't find it to be as enjoyable as Aggressive Inline (in all fairness though, AI is really good) I did find it to be a more down-to-earth entry in comparison.
    Also, it's cool to see an actual skater dude review these games, really adds depth to your reviews because you're aware of all the little intricacies. I used to skate myself years ago, THPS2 got me into it. I wasn't bad but I wasn't good either. I was a decent ollier, just something about soaring over those awesome gaps & landing it solid felt amazing.
    Also, grinding was class. Gaining momentum as you slide down something or getting that perfect pop at the end of a rail was always great fun.

    One of my absolute favorite games of all time. Put probably 400 hours into and 100% twice. Always sick when one challenge opens a new one, and so on. Unlocking all the secret characters was probably the most fun part, then going back and doing it with that character.

    Aggressive Inline was a great game, i just kinda felt like the level design let it down. Every level was some over the top unrealistic area such as a movie set or a theme park, like just give me a semi realistic street area with a skate park attached.

  • @angel_of_rust
    @angel_of_rust Před 6 měsíci

    the juice meter is fine, in place of a timer you just need to keep doing tricks to stay in the level which is fair enough.
    and while they only got 7 levels, they did make up for it by making them really big, and extending all of them by grabbing their respective keys in other levels. a secret bonus level or two may sweeten the deal even more though tbh

    if you didn't know there's also Rolling, which sadly came out in europe only, for ps2/xbox. it's playable on emulator. it's a bit better than this one, has toe rolls (our manuals) and cess slides (when we grind on the ground) and more tricks in general. also some quite creative levels, though a bit of a ripoff of THPS3's selection.

    There's another inline game for the XBox/PS2 but it's kinda weird, not quite THPS-like. It's simply called "Rolling", made by Rage Software and was only ever released in Europe.
    Another interesting non-skateboarding game you might want to check out is "Free Running", by Rebellion. This one is a liiittle bit reminiscent of THPS, but it's about parkour. It is also an Europe exclusive on PS2/PSP, but there's an US release for the Wii.

    I really liked this game and played it a ton when it first came out. Disney SUCKS for depriving us of this INSANELY AWESOME sport. The golden era for extreme sports was when aggressive inline events were still plentiful at the X-Games. The inline ban at X is so freaking stupid.

  • @Ratchetpower2
    @Ratchetpower2 Před 2 lety

    5 years late to this, but I actually really enjoyed the mechanic of the juice meter, it was one of the things I liked the most about Aggressive Inline. It added some risk to skating and doing tricks while also encouraging you to do as many tricks as possible. It also pushes you to keep skating and not stand around doing nothing, as it drains while you're standing still. Getting a Game Over means that you've been screwing up really badly and you haven't been landing many tricks and/or you've been falling into a lot of level hazards, either that or you've been standing around doing nothing for too long instead of playing the game. It's honestly not very hard to keep the meter up even if you just keep doing simple grinds and grabs that are easy to land and you don't crash much.

    @a_nervous_wreck Před 4 lety +1

    This was one of my favorite extreme sports games. I thought the Dave Mirra games were clunky and the level design was pretty boring and uninspired. With this game though, every single level is memorable in some way. They aren't perfectly laid out all the time, but they're almost as iconic as some of the best Tony Hawk levels. I always wondered why none of the Tony Hawk games ever had a museum level, cause it just seems like a no brainer for an extreme sports game, but this one did it and did it very well. This game also had a killer ass soundtrack. I'll never get sick of The Ataris Song 13. The gameplay is also just so damn addicting, hours seem to fly by playing it. I was never a big fan of Aklaims other extreme sports offerings, but this was a 10/10 game in my book.

    It's wierd because I really like Thrasher Skate and Destroy and the Dave Mirra games ( so much better than Matt Hoffman) .

      that's not what is considered as "flip tricks" in skateboarding. flip tricks in skateboarding mean flipping your board. you can not do that in inlining. you can only flip your entire body but not the inlines apart from it like you can do with a skateboard. therefore skateboarding really does have one more category of tricks.

    Dude this game was mad! Definitely better than THPS4. This was always in my GameCube. Needs a sequel/remake. Great review

    I really really liked this game in the Original Xbox it was great. I couldn't stand Jet Set Radio because of the ugly Cell-Shaded graphics so this was great to play.

    I might like skateboarding more but agressive Inline Is actually very fucking amazing huuuge levels even bigger then tony hawk 3 and 4 levels also the tricks In agressive Inline are soooo Incredible also on the back of the case It says It has bigger air tricks and manuals then any other game so It might actually have more tricks then the tony hawk games

    Was my Favorite skating game back then or... still is i guess :D even tho i only played the Demo as a kid for hours (it was basicly the first level which is still huge). Another game i enjoyed and wish to see here some time was Whirl tour for the Ps2. That one was a bit more slugish but back then i played also a ton of it.

    Do you know that there is game kinda like Aggressive Inline. Its called Rolling (it was released on Xbox and PS2) and it was only (i think) released in PAL region. But its not as awesome like this Aggressive Inline.
