Gai was definitely smooth. He was so Chad that he actually wooed God (who is female) in letting him return to Earth. Weather he won that card game fair and square or she let him win, you can definitely tell that that man is legendary if he can woo god herself.
This whole battle must have been a real challenge to properly choreograph and film. They did an excellent job editing it all together to make it work as well as it did.
that's tokusatsu for you, they actually put effort and they know how to film a fight scene, non of that shaky cam bs, we actually get to see the fight and they don't shake the camera or cut every millisecond, Hollywood please learn a thing or two from these guys.

And you have to remember, this had to be shot for a 28 or so minute long episode (sure, it worked well for Forever Red in the end, and they got all of the past Red Ranger actors back for it (save for David Bacon), but that was originally gonna be longer, but they had to reduce the episode to the usual 28 minute length). Megaforce, on the other hand, had not only restrictions from Nickelodeon to make each season 22 episodes long with the seasons split in two, but it had a lot of poor writing and behind the scenes drama kept the Sentai-exclusive Ranger suits in the season, though they originally weren't planned to be included (thank Jonathan Tzachor for being a Sentai fanboy and not giving an explanation on where those Ranger Keys came from or how those Rangers came to be).
It’s similar to the final battle in Avengers endgame, I wonder if they took inspiration from here. Definitely better than Sabans Megaforce version but I have hope for Hasbro to step it up especially with the Dino war they are doing

Yeah, I don't think the build up of this battle would work as good with the Goranger theme. The song just keeps building and it makes a lasting impression. Became one of my favorite theme songs ever!

I may not have grown up with the older Sentai that came befre Zyuranger, but this scene just shows how massive this threat was. A threat that made the oldest of old come to help, even ones who fell in battle came back to help. Also love that Akaranger is mostly just punching shit like it's no big deal.

Here you really do feel like the Zangyack are the biggest threat to ever grace Earth. Their first invasion could only be stopped by the combined power of 34 Super Sentai teams. To fully bring them down completely you needed the combined power of 35 Super Sentai teams. The Zangyack are truly the strongest foe any Sentai team has ever faced, with Gokaigers being the strongest Sentai team to ever exist. Most likely the Gokaigers will continue to be the most powerful Sentai team of all due to their ability to transform into any past and future Sentai team. Not to mention they can turn into Kamen Riders to so long as the Riders provide them with the keys to do so.
Holy hell is that epic, after watching a lot of Linkaras history of the power rangers I must admit it really has gotten me interested in the Sentai and this easily looks far more epic and paying respect for its history unlike the Power Rangers did, such a shame.
+PrinceBalor It was. All the tribute episodes exactly copied the style and feel of the original series, and some episodes even resolve never addressed plot points. Plus the setup itself led to learning about the old series, as the GoKaigers are not from Earth, no nothing about the previous Sentai, and don't even consider themselves heroes at first. They have to learn about all the previous sentai to gain their power in order to unlock the ultimate treasure, allowing audience to learn about the older sentai as well.
This I always come back to because it felt real and personal. Everyone had their moments, and everyone felt active in this. Compared to Strongest Battle where you can tell who was actually there and who wasn't and sentais are fighting each other, we got to see everybody do what they actually should be doing: Fighting the badguys and showing off why they are heroes. Even giving up their powers without hesitation. In just the starting 2 minutes you can feel the grandness of this scene with barely any dialogue to explain it.

This grunt army had no major villain like damarasu, no bounty hunters like kiado and not even a villain of the week. Them having to give up their powers against such a small grunt army is hilarious. in strongest battle they defeat dai satan who marvelous labeled as universe buster. Gekiranger main villain was a planet buster and got destroyed by the main trio who weren't even going all out. How are they great heroes? They had 0 plans in case zangjack would return. If gokaiger wasn't there, earth would have been destroyed. This scene is garbage. It portrays 34 teams as much weaker than they are. You seriously think 34 teams + their extra members would struggle against such a small grunt army? Tsurugi took out a equal force all by himself in kyuranger and he was rusty and not at full power. Look at how badly the goseigers were portrayed. Were overwhelmed by zangjack grunts so that the first two leaders in the franchise could have their glorious return. But a but later they keep up with the gokaigers who easily defeated zangjack grunts in episode 1 already. Including Don who is a bad fighter. So even that guy performed better vs grunts than the experienced goseigers.
10 years later and I still get chills watching this…brings tears to my eyes seeing 35 years worth of Sentai in one scene. You know, with AI being what it is now, we wouldn’t have to wait anymore for a proper adaptation to this scene. We could just do it ourselves now 🤫
It seemed like Saban tried to splice together footage from this and failed, because like what was mentioned before, there were a lot of teams missing and what not, they should have focused on certain teams, try and bring everyone who wanted and could back for it and just made it that way. But, then again.. they had all the footage of the 6th rangers, auxiliary rangers, and the entire battle itself to use, they should have done a better job editing and they should have featured the ones who we saw on screen more in the battle, instead of just hearing random sounds off screen during the whole thing. Even the extended version isn't much better. Total missed opportunities in what should have been the best season yet.
@@NickCMedia Yeah. the only option they had could have do what they did with the Aquitar rangers and at least give some quick explanations: - Goranger: Zordon's team from which Goseiger was a member of as the blue ranger. this team could be called "Power Squadron" (Squadron being translation as Sentai. as reference to the source material) - Turboranger: prototype versions of the lightspeed rescue team that were later completed as back up (as a reference to how the titanium ranger suit was made using a turboranger suit; and a reference to the theory that the Turb0's -Rescue zords were used to make the lightspeed zords). They could be called "Turbo Rescue Rangers" - Dairanger: an unfinished ranger power based on the thunderzords and the white light that zordon and alpha 5 could never create that gosei completed recently as a tribute to his mentor. "Thunderlight Rangers" But for the other many unadapted teams....... Yeah.... it would logically be better to unadapt them, call quits on the 3 sentai teams you adapted in just quick explanations, and focus on only actually adapted power rangers BUT on the other hand it would require mor budget for the exclusive footage.
You've only scratched the surface. This is only ONE of several war battles that *ALL* Sentais have been in. The battle that tops this one in terms of epicness is the Kamen Rider x Super Sentai Super Hero Taisen (war) battle scene at the end of that movie. Its story may have not made sense, but unlike Saban, it *MORE* than made up for it with all the fights and battles of the movie. The problem with Saban is that it lacked in story AND in the fights where as in Super Hero Taisen; it may have lacked in a comprehensible story, but it MORE than made up for it by delivering on the epic fights and battles.

kamenriderantinomy Finally watched it. The fight at the end was pretty badass, even with the unnecessary slapstick here and there. The movie itself was pretty meh, and I've never been a big Kamen Rider fan so it didn't do much for me, but the battle was good. I appreciate the effort Toei puts into their fight scenes and the choreography to make them worth watching.
That's because this is older than Power Rangers and had already been on television for two decades before the 1990's. Zyuranger the Super Sentai that became Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had instant success in the United States due to it being brand new and not having any other shows before it, but the hype died down after a few years once the novelty wore off. They still made new seasons after it but they've never been able to top the original show. It's mostly due to the extreme popularity it had in its original run and when it stopped, it was hard to make it better.
This is what I call a legendary war! This is what I love about Super Sentai, they give respectful tributes and awesome crossovers like this inside a Gokaiger movie. I wish Super Megaforce was like this but we live in real life and not a fantasy. Also typing this makes me miss the Disney Era of Power Rangers.
The heroes that are focused on more than the others(Denji Blue, Red Falcon, Big One, Akarenger) all become more important later in the film. Pretty cool foreshadowing.
Yep except they made a slight mistake. During the shot which features the guys who show up later in the film (specifically at 3:30) they show Change Dragon instead of Red One (and even give Dragon his voice grunts) I guess either the editor got mixed up or they filmed the fight scene thinking Dragon's actor was gonna cameo and then there was a last minute reschedule.
Goranger being being 35 years older than the first time we saw them, like 70 year old as they were at that time and still xould manage to fight at full strength and beyond its pretty scary actually.
Fun fact: gokaiger’s premise with the concept of the world ending is inspired by the Japan disasters during 2011/2012. Imagine being able to watch this after but be so hope fulfilling
Imagine if this was the first episode of Super Megaforce. Just start off the season with an absolute BANG. You have Jason and Tommy fill in the role of Akaranger and Big One. Of course, you would have to cut and film a few new scenes. Then at the end, all of the Rangers sacrifice their powers, which would then lead the Megaforce team to find their new powers, sort of akin to Zeo. Then throughout the series, they get advice from past rangers, while also searching for the Legendary Ranger powers. ...but unfortunately, this didn't happen. Instead, we got a lazy excuse of a season.
If only Super Megaforce BEGAN with the Legendary Battle before the Rangers gained Super Mega Mode and just ended with the Emperor Mavro battle. That's the ONLY thing that could've made Super Megaforce better than the *unavoidable* way they had it.
Blame Jonathan Tzachor for his being a Sentai purist as a result of the mess we got and Nickelodeon for the contractual restriction of 22 episodes per season. I liked the one we got here, don't get me wrong, but I do agree there could've been more to it than that.

Ironic that the 1st 6 minutes of a crossover movie got the message of a “Legendary Battle” across quicker and better than 2 full seasons of buildup to it.

this is why I love super sentai especially this one episode unlike the english version this one is not rushed at all. and you actually get to see more of the super sentai fight than what you get in super mega force
The only few allies who didn't appeared in the Legend War are Racer White (Carranger), VRV Master (Phantom Ranger - Carranger), Ninjaman (Kakuranger), and Demon Hunter Zeke (GoGo Five) thus none of their powers were shown in Gokaiger though Ninjaman himself did later appeared in one of the Gokaiger episode.

Holy hell is that epic, after watching a lot of Linkaras history of the power rangers I must admit it really has gotten me interested in the Sentai and this easily looks far more epic and paying respect for its history unlike the Power Rangers did, such a shame.
+PrinceBalor It was. All the tribute episodes exactly copied the style and feel of the original series, and some episodes even resolve never addressed plot points. Plus the setup itself led to learning about the old series, as the GoKaigers are not from Earth, no nothing about the previous Sentai, and don't even consider themselves heroes at first. They have to learn about all the previous sentai to gain their power in order to unlock the ultimate treasure, allowing audience to learn about the older sentai as well.
That sounds really cool. may need to look up GoKaiger some day, it has pirates so it should be good :)

This I always come back to because it felt real and personal. Everyone had their moments, and everyone felt active in this. Compared to Strongest Battle where you can tell who was actually there and who wasn't and sentais are fighting each other, we got to see everybody do what they actually should be doing: Fighting the badguys and showing off why they are heroes. Even giving up their powers without hesitation. In just the starting 2 minutes you can feel the grandness of this scene with barely any dialogue to explain it.
Everyone should struggle vs a small grunt army and not focussing on the space ships which have the highest ammo, where the grunts come from and which has the plans to zangjack's home planet? This grunt army had no major villain like damarasu, no bounty hunters like kiado and not even a villain of the week.
Them having to give up their powers against such a small grunt army is hilarious. in strongest battle they defeat dai satan who marvelous labeled as universe buster. Gekiranger main villain was a planet buster and got destroyed by the main trio who weren't even going all out.
How are they great heroes? They had 0 plans in case zangjack would return. If gokaiger wasn't there, earth would have been destroyed.
This scene is garbage. It portrays 34 teams as much weaker than they are. You seriously think 34 teams + their extra members would struggle against such a small grunt army? Tsurugi took out a equal force all by himself in kyuranger and he was rusty and not at full power. Look at how badly the goseigers were portrayed. Were overwhelmed by zangjack grunts so that the first two leaders in the franchise could have their glorious return. But a but later they keep up with the gokaigers who easily defeated zangjack grunts in episode 1 already. Including Don who is a bad fighter. So even that guy performed better vs grunts than the experienced goseigers.

It seemed like Saban tried to splice together footage from this and failed, because like what was mentioned before, there were a lot of teams missing and what not, they should have focused on certain teams, try and bring everyone who wanted and could back for it and just made it that way. But, then again.. they had all the footage of the 6th rangers, auxiliary rangers, and the entire battle itself to use, they should have done a better job editing and they should have featured the ones who we saw on screen more in the battle, instead of just hearing random sounds off screen during the whole thing. Even the extended version isn't much better. Total missed opportunities in what should have been the best season yet.

@@NickCMedia Yeah. the only option they had could have do what they did with the Aquitar rangers and at least give some quick explanations:
- Goranger: Zordon's team from which Goseiger was a member of as the blue ranger. this team could be called "Power Squadron" (Squadron being translation as Sentai. as reference to the source material)
- Turboranger: prototype versions of the lightspeed rescue team that were later completed as back up (as a reference to how the titanium ranger suit was made using a turboranger suit; and a reference to the theory that the Turb0's -Rescue zords were used to make the lightspeed zords). They could be called "Turbo Rescue Rangers"
- Dairanger: an unfinished ranger power based on the thunderzords and the white light that zordon and alpha 5 could never create that gosei completed recently as a tribute to his mentor. "Thunderlight Rangers"
But for the other many unadapted teams....... Yeah.... it would logically be better to unadapt them, call quits on the 3 sentai teams you adapted in just quick explanations, and focus on only actually adapted power rangers BUT on the other hand it would require mor budget for the exclusive footage.
When the opening come in, I get emotional. Goseiger is my favourite season!
3:01 is when the most epic battle EVER begins.
You've only scratched the surface. This is only ONE of several war battles that *ALL* Sentais have been in. The battle that tops this one in terms of epicness is the Kamen Rider x Super Sentai Super Hero Taisen (war) battle scene at the end of that movie. Its story may have not made sense, but unlike Saban, it *MORE* than made up for it with all the fights and battles of the movie.
The problem with Saban is that it lacked in story AND in the fights where as in Super Hero Taisen; it may have lacked in a comprehensible story, but it MORE than made up for it by delivering on the epic fights and battles.
kamenriderantinomy I haven't seen the Kamen Rider film you mentioned yet, but will definitely check it out due to how awesome it sounds.

When you do check it out, come back and comment and tell me your thoughts on the movie. In terms of epic battles, it definitely delivers and tops this battle by miles. It may have had an incomprehensible story, but the battle was superb and you can definitely tell that hard work was put into it.
kamenriderantinomy Finally watched it. The fight at the end was pretty badass, even with the unnecessary slapstick here and there. The movie itself was pretty meh, and I've never been a big Kamen Rider fan so it didn't do much for me, but the battle was good. I appreciate the effort Toei puts into their fight scenes and the choreography to make them worth watching.

That's because this is older than Power Rangers and had already been on television for two decades before the 1990's. Zyuranger the Super Sentai that became Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had instant success in the United States due to it being brand new and not having any other shows before it, but the hype died down after a few years once the novelty wore off. They still made new seasons after it but they've never been able to top the original show. It's mostly due to the extreme popularity it had in its original run and when it stopped, it was hard to make it better.

This is what I call a legendary war! This is what I love about Super Sentai, they give respectful tributes and awesome crossovers like this inside a Gokaiger movie. I wish Super Megaforce was like this but we live in real life and not a fantasy. Also typing this makes me miss the Disney Era of Power Rangers.
The heroes that are focused on more than the others(Denji Blue, Red Falcon, Big One, Akarenger) all become more important later in the film. Pretty cool foreshadowing.
Yep except they made a slight mistake. During the shot which features the guys who show up later in the film (specifically at 3:30) they show Change Dragon instead of Red One (and even give Dragon his voice grunts) I guess either the editor got mixed up or they filmed the fight scene thinking Dragon's actor was gonna cameo and then there was a last minute reschedule.

Imagine if this was the first episode of Super Megaforce. Just start off the season with an absolute BANG. You have Jason and Tommy fill in the role of Akaranger and Big One. Of course, you would have to cut and film a few new scenes. Then at the end, all of the Rangers sacrifice their powers, which would then lead the Megaforce team to find their new powers, sort of akin to Zeo. Then throughout the series, they get advice from past rangers, while also searching for the Legendary Ranger powers.
...but unfortunately, this didn't happen. Instead, we got a lazy excuse of a season.
If only Super Megaforce BEGAN with the Legendary Battle before the Rangers gained Super Mega Mode and just ended with the Emperor Mavro battle. That's the ONLY thing that could've made Super Megaforce better than the *unavoidable* way they had it.

Blame Jonathan Tzachor for his being a Sentai purist as a result of the mess we got and Nickelodeon for the contractual restriction of 22 episodes per season. I liked the one we got here, don't get me wrong, but I do agree there could've been more to it than that.

The only few allies who didn't appeared in the Legend War are Racer White (Carranger), VRV Master (Phantom Ranger -
Carranger), Ninjaman (Kakuranger), and Demon Hunter Zeke (GoGo Five) thus none of their powers were shown in Gokaiger though Ninjaman himself did later appeared in one of the Gokaiger episode.
