By request I cover the topic of inbreeding and how to pair up related birds to improve your breeding program. Line breeding is selective inbreeding and that's why I start off by saying anything that's purebred is line bred and anything that's line bred is inbred.

what if you have half siblings breed together. Both sharing the same mom, but fathers are different. The two fathers of both pairs are grandpa and grandson, hope that makes sense

I got a Toppy Dom Hen, She is Small She Never has Got Good Size, I had a Toppy Brown Red and This Grey Rooster, He was Like 4 Different Things in Him, Original Grey, Flarry Eyed Grey, Buchter and Hatch, But, I had Them For Almost a Year and They Just Stayed Small and Something Got in And Killed The Rooster and Toppy Brown Red Hen, So, I Only Got The Toppy Dom Hen Left, Got Her in With Another Rooster, But Here is The Crazy Thing, The Toppy Brown Red Hen had a Sister that Looks Just Like Her, She got Full Size, But My Hen Didn't!

Sometimes that can happen also. Especially when dealing with bantam crosses (not saying your birds had bantam blood in them of course.) If you want to talk oddities with size, I had a group of birds that hatched late one year. During that time the feedmill messed up my ration and dropped it down to 13% protein. I figured they'd never group beyond 2 lbs. But by the following fall after correcting the feed problem they all resumed growing and reached normal size. Don't know if I caught the feeding error at just the right time to give them the chance to do that or if they actually just put growing on pause til there was better nutrition available.

I got a Dom hen too. She is small low station. But her 5 offspring in different broodcock has won.
Some people says my Dom hen is prepotent..but I just laughed..
I just keep my line Dom hen .. and I'm happy with them it's either winning or Lossing.
