@@lifeoflellie688 Yeah, any hair stylist would have to double process her hair to get it the lightness she wanted. But at least Guy Tang knows what he is doing haha.
Guy Tang had a few clients come to me and my best friend in our studio salon in LA. Was told by these clients he doesn’t always do these colors in one shot. He does multiple appointments and shows before (one appointment) then the after (separate appointment).
Hmmm, your hair stylist lacks a lot of knowledge and experience. Like what was she doing? I used to dye my hair with black box dye and it was a process to lift the colour to get lighter, took about 2 salon visits. A stylist should never bleach your hair twice in one session, that's crazy damaging. Also, the fact the first hair stylist didn't consider toning your hair is crazy, go to another salon next time, someone who has some experience with going lighter. After about 4 visits for me I ended up being my desired colour and it was worth the effort and wait because my hair stayed healthy. The colour looks gorgeous on you, hope they do the right thing by u next time xx
She had to be honest that it won't be possible to be light pink in one session. Removing black dyed without damaging takes time. I think the hairstylist did it, cause she kept pressuring that she wants pink. She could of told her in the beginning what could happen to her hair.
I don't think any good stylist in their right mind would agree to go from black box dye to platinum blonde in one day! This should've been done over a couple of sessions. Also, she inconveniences you by pushing back your appointment by 2 hours, leaves bleach on your hair probably for longer than it should've been, and then doesn't even finish the job and just pawns you off on her coworker? Girl PLEASE, for me, especially if you still plan on going a lighter pink in the future, do yourself a favor and find a different stylist!
Exactly omg, we do my bleach and color at home and we even know better than that! NEVER bleach twice on the same day!! so unprofessional, she probably payed a fortune as well. We've managed to keep my hair super healthy at such a low price, this was upsetting to watch poor thing
@Senpais favorite Girl lmao please don't "bleach five times in one day" shitty for ur hair. Her hair definitely would have broken if she'd have gone any lighter. the stylist also definitely used more than a 20 developer lmao, as WELL as leaving it on for upwards of an hour. Making it actually platinum would have killed it lol, black box dye is risky business
the problem is when stylists give suggestions the customer can still tell them no (which she did suggest purple etc.) I remember when I had my hair bleached hella blonde I literally had to sign a release saying i knew it would fuck up my hair. If stylists refuse service (which I think they should be able to) the customer gets mad and bad mouths them, but then if they go ahead and do it and the damage occurs (which it always does) they STILL get bad mouthed. it's so silly.
Grim Wolff I just see a lot of people saying that it’s the salons fault but from what I can tell they were just trying to give her what she asked for, even after suggesting otherwise for the sake of her hair.
kennedy looking like a bean for 10 minutes before finally showing how gorgeous it looks im obsessed i'm a small youtuber btw! would love the support x kennedy inspires me
A good stylist would not have gone two rounds (double process) in one day. I like at least 48 hours between lightening sessions. Two weeks are ideal. Always use a bond protection system like olaplex, ultim8, Wellaplex, etc. there are literally so many now. Most are better than Olaplex. Second this should have been done in multiple sessions. Third a sulfur based color remover (not lightener) should have been used first and most likely twice. You can lighten after this process safely. Even then, EVEN on natural dark hair or light hair you always apply lightener off scalp and through the ends and watch that process, based on professional experience you determine when to apply lightener to the root because the root lifts much faster due to the body heat produced at the scalp. We usually leave 1”-1.5” root when first applying through ends. This lightener should have a bond protector in it and be paired with an appropriate developer for needed lift vs resulting color after removal and the hair’s integrity. Even with that process you may not yet be light enough to be colored a pastel pink. Hence her hair being toned to a rose tone. I’ve been doing hair for 15 years, I’ve said this in comment responses. I’m a master colorist senior stylist in a top salon in the Pacific Northwest (two years) spent majority of my career in Los Angeles (13 years; where I’m from) was raised by a top stylist second generation blah blah blah. Pinterest and IG hair looks are deceiving most are photoshopped and have to be because a lot of cameras auto change the tone to cooler in photos. Most of us post our best work, we will post a before picture and an after picture from multiple sessions (I put in a disclaimer). Here is a Harry Potter expression that most youth can get when it comes to hair. If you want hair like Lucius, but start with hair like Hagrid, you must be okay with looking like a young Draco for a minute, or you’re gonna end up looking like Voldemort. Also, pastels and vivid colors do not last long, they when successful will be a multiple process lighten dry color. They are the most expensive color services outside color corrections that are offered in a salon and require the most frequent upkeep.
Wait what kind of shiesty hairdresser did you go to where she 1.) bleached your hair twice in the same session 2.) left you with bleach on your head for an hour and a half 3.) brushed your wet, damaged hair with a paddle brush 4.) did not consider toning your hair Especially since you’ve been black box-dyed for 5 years, the lightening should have been done in stages to protect your hair. Some hairdressers are so afraid to tell their clients to have realistic goals that they’re willing to damage your hair instead of tell you the truth, it’s crazy Edited to add: I don’t want to insult or attack the hairdresser. Instead, I hope that I can inform other people who are looking to get their hair done professionally. I’ve had multiple hairstylists who have damaged my 3b/c naturally dry hair because they didn’t know how to work with it. Please be careful!
Lucy Doyen that’s exactly what I was thinking I’m just assuming this part but I think she left because she didn’t “feel good” because she didn’t want Kennedy to get mad at her and she would rather have her coworker take the “blame” if anything went wrong ANYWAYS JUST ASSUMING

1.) her hair looks so good!!! 2.) the stylist shouldn’t have bleached it twice in one day 3.) she went from BLACK hair to BLONDE, of course her hair is gonna be a bit damaged and dry. But as long as she uses conditioner and leave in conditioner her hair shouldn’t be too bad though.

"A bit" damaged, it was falling off! It is what we call a chemical haircut and elastic hair... It is the worst thing that can happen to your hair. A profissional should say "no" you cannot go from dark hair to almost platinum blonde in ONE day. The profissional should know better and say no! It was irresponsible and now her hair is super sensible and very very damaged. Chemical haircuts take forever to heal...
Girl.... She shouldn’t have bleached it for so long in one day.... You said you’ve been dying it black for 5 years??? It’s definitely a process to go from black to blonde, plus if you had been using box dye from Walmart or something, the bleach could’ve had a bad reaction to the metallic salts in the color. I don’t recommend going black again. Now you know how hard it is to get black out of your hair... Don’t do it. She also should’ve never bleached your hair twice in one day. Honestly, she used poor judgment thinking she could take you platinum in one day from 5 years of black box dye color buildup. There were communication errors on both ends it sounds like. This is coming from a licensed stylist. It’s a huge process to get from a level 1(black) to a level 10(platinum blonde). Realistically if you didn’t want any damage you should’ve realized that it is impossible to get that light in one day when bleaching black hair. To prevent said damage most stylists would say anywhere from 2-4 sessions to get to the right level of blonde for a pastel pink.
your stylist actually sounds like a MESS- putting bleach on bleach, BRUSHING your hair once bleached (when it is really weak!!!) like wtf was she doing AND then LEAVING and getting someone else to take over!! DUDE WHAT IS THIS "STYLIST"
Sis that hairdresser did not do what she should’ve done bleaching it TWICE in the same day and leaving it for a long time both times omg you’re so lucky your hair didn’t fall out and brushing your hair while it’s still wet and she didn’t even tone the bleached hair I’m??? I’m glad it looks good in the end though but I was a little scared for a second
I bleach my hair twice, my mums a hair dresser, bleach only works to a certain point so you have to wash it out and put more on to get a lighter blonde

What lol. If you’re black trying to go pink you need to have the bleach in for several hours. I’ve gone blonde (I’m Asian so naturally black hair) and am in the salon for at least 8 hours..
@@cleo9283 Yeah thats on her for requesting to go pink in one day lmao. She literally said in her video, "I didn't come here to be blonde, I want to be PINK." If she was smart she would've done it in several sessions instead of demanding to do it in one. She is lucky it turned out so well, but should probably learn from this and take responsibility instead of making a whole video bitching about her experience and pinning it on the hairdresser rather than her unrealistic expectations/lack of research lmao.
Did your stylist use Olaplex at all? It literally repairs bonds in your hair that bleach breaks. That’s how Kim K goes blonde. I think it still look bomb af but I think you should go to a different stylist next time and mention olaplex when you call because Guy Tang is quaking with all that bleach girllll
your hair had black BOX DYE in it. that stylist should have done several bleaching sessions over a course of a couple months. of course your hair got fried... going platinum in one day with virgin hair is difficult, let alone with black box dyed hair. you should have done a bit more research so you would have known what to expect, but the stylist is ultimately the one at fault.
a tip from a cosmetologist, if your hairstylist ever says that they “don’t feel good” and they leave , they know they fucked your hair up i’ve seen many people do it in my salon 😂
Your stylist made multiple mistakes, but you also had very unrealistic expectations. You shouldn’t have tried to get from black to platinum in one session. To be fair though, if she was any good, she would’ve told you this.
Kristen Jeffries its up to the hairdresser to tell her that, not for her to know straight off the bat especially if who she saw it off made false reality and dosent explain the process online
Exactly my thought... Black box dye to pastel pink in one session, omg... 😱I can't imagine how damage the hair will be... And her stylist took 1.5 hours to apply the bleach and let her sit there forever... Ouch... I don't want to judge, but I am just sorry for her hair... :( And yes a lot of people have unrealistic expectations because they don't understand hair color. Those videos online make it look too easy and too good. All stylists should educate their guests instead of just taking their money and frying their hair though. :)
TingTing Li on the hairdressers side though, clients should just fucking listen instead of forcing shit to happen cause then now it’s the stylists “fault.”
Zee Tu but the only thing the hairdresser tried to talk her out of was doing the pink color she wanted. She, as far as we were told, never tried to talk her out of a double process lightening. If she was a good hairdresser, and wasn’t just in it for the money, she would have told her she wouldn’t bleach her hair to platinum from the jump. She would have either flat out said no or told her it couldn’t be done in one session and would need to be split up over at least 4 sessions 4-6 weeks apart depending on the damage caused each session. I had black in my hair from a black and white striped Mohawk and it took nearly 4 years to get out because every time we added a punky color over top of those areas, it would go straight back to black. It wasn’t until I wanted to go all platinum that she really tried to get it out and, even then, it took close to 2 hours of her massaging the bleach into my hair to get it out. Once it was “out” and she washed and dried my hair, all the parts that were black, it was a neon/pastel pink and it stayed that way after several more sessions until I finally cut it all off.
Never go back to her 😞 . She should of not bleached twice in the same day. I went to a consult with a hairstylist and she explained everything to me she did not promise blonde hair in the first session since I had black hair.. and I loved the outcome my hair did not feel damaged at all she did very well ...
TheTruth Hurts totally agree with this comment, I never bleached my hair and I didn’t want to when I want to dye my hair...so I end up doing it by myself after a lot of research. I was able to do it without damaged and my natural hair came back after the dye left.
TheTruth Hurts well you could always refused to pay...honestly my mom is a queen of this where if something isn’t right or do right, we would get refund, some credit, not have to pay with an offer of another thing to replace whatever she or my family doesn’t like. So it’s possible to complain and not have to pay for something that you don’t like
@@thehierophantsecrets i dont know how it works where you are from but technically if you asked for it the stylist is going to try their best to meet your wants and will explain what will happen during a consultation and if you dont like it in the end even though its exactly what you asked for you cant refuse to pay pretty much

hair turned out soo pretty but yikes idk about the hairdresser man, yeah i get she had a lot of problems going on that day but like idk leaving while you’re doing a customer’s hair eh doesn’t give off the best impression
Dont worry, I routine bleach my hair every other month to platinum blonde so i can color it all the time and honestly, this isnt bad/the worst outcome. The hair is always a little bit elastic and snaps easily the day of bleaching, and it was pretty tired out from the two rounds etc so the ramen noodle hair doesnt last dont worry next time you wash your hair i assure you it will look and feel waay better. I guess that your hairdresser probably shouldve done was add a treatment to protect, like olaplex, and the second the bleaching was done she shouldve added a silver toner to cancel out all the yellow, but it really did turn out great! Congrats
usually if the hair dresser knows what she's doing, she'll suggest that you do a slow process of bleaching. so come in one day and get it light and then go in again and get it the right color, because black is VERY hard to bleach and you can lose your hair if they do the bleach all in one day.
i actually dyed my hair this color recently and i was so scared during the process but it turned out the same beautiful color you got it done - i think the color looks beautiful on you :)
I'm actually kinda upset with the hair stylist. Super unprofessional. :/ Did you do a lot of research when choosing your stylist? Overall though you pull off the hair beautifully.
cynmichelle559 Yeah it’s really horrible about the experiences. I wouldn’t pay for it nor allow them to bleach my hair twice and dye it in the same day
when you said she bleached your hair a SECOND time I was screaming ! bleach on bleach is a no no, then when she picked up that brush and brushed it.... sis what you doing? no. but regardless the stylist did a good job in the end to go from 4 years of black, to the blond, and to the pink in one day, but very risky my cousin actually loss a LOT of her hair from doing just that it was really tragic.. I would still probably consider a new stylist though
She bleached twice with 25 volume..... and this girl was trying to go pink from black hair dye lol. What do you expect. Also why would the stylist NOT brush her hair after? Lol what. No logic whatsoever.
@@swagmoney3723 what.. where did you hear that LOL. when you get your hair done you get it styled that same day. they don't just let it air dry and you go home lmao.
double processing is completely normal but, leaving it on too long and disappearing is not okay and you should be taking sessions to get from a level 1 box dye to that level is not good at all, and then leaving is not professional at all, coming from someone in my final year of cosmetology school
They should have never done that in one sitting! As a hairdresser I always tell my clients who have black box die hair that it’s going to take at least three sessions to get to where you want to be. You’re very lucky that you’re hair didn’t completely break off and l can guarantee that they used 40 volume to lift the black out of your hair
Even as a non hairdresser you can tell that she has thin hair and would require most likely 2 weeks worth of sessions every three to four days one session of bleach then the final day could be the color / toner. And they should have had her use hair mask in between just to rehydrate the hair for the next session.
Yes and now, I have both worked on clients as well as had black box dye in my own hair when I was very young. And I’ve always been able to lift it very light, and tone it to help neutralize the orange or uneven parts. That being said I did go back for several sessions, and ask clients to come back several times to reach the desired blonde. It all depends on the integrity of the hair to start.
All your hair needs is a keratin treatment that’s gonna add strength and moisture back into your hair. I also recommend kera color conditioner that has protein and adds pigment to hair with every wash. It’s my go to as a stylist. I also recommend getting deep conditions regularly to get your hair healthy again. The color looks super cute. Good tip is to always look up your stylist and see what they are capable of achieving ☺️
She should’ve told you right off that pink would not be possible your first time around. She didn’t give you realistic expectations and if you didn’t want to listen then she should’ve walked away and refused you service. It looks good but this was a mess

I was light brunette and my ends were blonde (cause 6 month before I had been bleached blonde) and my hairdresser did not want me to become blonde like I want to (just really dark blonde) cause my hair had been colored with brown box dye. I can not believe that someone told her "Ok, you will be pink." They should explain to her that this process will dry her hair and cause a lot of split or fried ends. Atleast that. If you wanna earn money atleast say to your costumer : " Look, this is unrealistic and it will worsen your hair. If something bad happens it will not be our fauilt cause we warned you that this will dry and fry your hair."

Dead ass serious
Exactly
Exacly!!! Who the fuck puts bleach over black dye
She had to be honest that it won't be possible to be light pink in one session. Removing black dyed without damaging takes time. I think the hairstylist did it, cause she kept pressuring that she wants pink. She could of told her in the beginning what could happen to her hair.
WHY DIDNT SHE TONE IT OR DO A TREATMNT ?!?!!??!

@@margotlayne477 THANK YOU! Finally someone who understands and will actually say it!

I want PINK hair. I am about to be 20 it's now or never.
Niharika Parashar go for it girl!
Wait what kind of shiesty hairdresser did you go to where she
1.) bleached your hair twice in the same session
2.) left you with bleach on your head for an hour and a half
3.) brushed your wet, damaged hair with a paddle brush
4.) did not consider toning your hair
Especially since you’ve been black box-dyed for 5 years, the lightening should have been done in stages to protect your hair. Some hairdressers are so afraid to tell their clients to have realistic goals that they’re willing to damage your hair instead of tell you the truth, it’s crazy
Edited to add: I don’t want to insult or attack the hairdresser. Instead, I hope that I can inform other people who are looking to get their hair done professionally. I’ve had multiple hairstylists who have damaged my 3b/c naturally dry hair because they didn’t know how to work with it. Please be careful!
Lucy Doyen Plus she left TWICE, wtf
I completely agree.
Lucy Doyen that’s exactly what I was thinking I’m just assuming this part but I think she left because she didn’t “feel good” because she didn’t want Kennedy to get mad at her and she would rather have her coworker take the “blame” if anything went wrong ANYWAYS JUST ASSUMING
well she said she was having family problems and then wasn't feeling well so maybe the hairstylist just wasn't on her A-game
An Angel yea but then again in that situation if you feel you wouldn’t be on your A-Game don’t take clients I know that might be there only way of income but happy customer means that they might return again with positive reviews an upset customer results in bad reviews and no more visits 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ just my opinion tho

It’s called double process. It happens a lot for colors such as fhis

Lama Imam this time she’s not slutty and dead tho
@@lilyj1198 Lmao 🤣
I’m British and those accents killed me 😂😂😂😂😂😂
She had to leave? What?! The hair looks freaking bomb tho, thank god for the second hairdresser who used the pink toner

I’m glad it looks good in the end though but I was a little scared for a second
The second hairdresser saved it thank god

Zoe but she isn’t supposed to go from black to pink like that in one day. she’s lucky she still has hair
Kim k didn’t go blonde with olaplex she wears wigs you can’t go white blonde like that as fast as she did without going bald
Veronica Velasquez no it’s her real hair lol. The pink hair wasn’t a wig it was really hers, she talked about it already
your hair had black BOX DYE in it. that stylist should have done several bleaching sessions over a course of a couple months. of course your hair got fried... going platinum in one day with virgin hair is difficult, let alone with black box dyed hair. you should have done a bit more research so you would have known what to expect, but the stylist is ultimately the one at fault.

a tip from a cosmetologist, if your hairstylist ever says that they “don’t feel good” and they leave , they know they fucked your hair up i’ve seen many people do it in my salon 😂
Girlll you look absolutely stunning, the pink hair was defo worth it.
Kristen Jeffries was an ask s
Exactly my thought... Black box dye to pastel pink in one session, omg... 😱I can't imagine how damage the hair will be...
And her stylist took 1.5 hours to apply the bleach and let her sit there forever... Ouch... I don't want to judge, but I am just sorry for her hair... :(
And yes a lot of people have unrealistic expectations because they don't understand hair color.

Congrats
It looks so pretty!!😍
Who else paused and struggled to read the texts? just me? K.
I did too
usually if the hair dresser knows what she's doing, she'll suggest that you do a slow process of bleaching. so come in one day and get it light and then go in again and get it the right color, because black is VERY hard to bleach and you can lose your hair if they do the bleach all in one day.
Exactly !

I would still probably consider a new stylist though
She bleached twice with 25 volume..... and this girl was trying to go pink from black hair dye lol. What do you expect. Also why would the stylist NOT brush her hair after? Lol what. No logic whatsoever.
Zoe you aren’t supposed to brush hair after you bleach it for at least a day because it’s at its most fragile state. it can fall out if you do.
@@swagmoney3723 what.. where did you hear that LOL. when you get your hair done you get it styled that same day. they don't just let it air dry and you go home lmao.
it's not a "no no". obviously not healthy for your hair but if a proffesional knows what they're doing it can definitely work without huuge damage.
double processing is completely normal but, leaving it on too long and disappearing is not okay and you should be taking sessions to get from a level 1 box dye to that level is not good at all, and then leaving is not professional at all, coming from someone in my final year of cosmetology school
Danielle Salvia I thought the same thing, there’s noooo way she was only using 25 vol lol
Even as a non hairdresser you can tell that she has thin hair and would require most likely 2 weeks worth of sessions every three to four days one session of bleach then the final day could be the color / toner. And they should have had her use hair mask in between just to rehydrate the hair for the next session.
I not you
Dan Whyte you’re pretty close in what you said. Usually I’d Ike the hair to rest for 4-6 then go from there
Yes and now, I have both worked on clients as well as had black box dye in my own hair when I was very young. And I’ve always been able to lift it very light, and tone it to help neutralize the orange or uneven parts. That being said I did go back for several sessions, and ask clients to come back several times to reach the desired blonde. It all depends on the integrity of the hair to start.
You have gorgeous eyelashes
omg you guys in the car waiting for your appointment has me DYING !!! reminds me of me and my girls in a car lmaoo
Keratin doesn’t add moisture. Protein is drying, and you need a separate treatment to moisturize.
She should’ve told you right off that pink would not be possible your first time around. She didn’t give you realistic expectations and if you didn’t want to listen then she should’ve walked away and refused you service. It looks good but this was a mess
It looks so good omg YOU’RE SO BEAUTIFUL

@@MissPaigeNicoleee if I have natural black hair but In the past i dyed my hair brown, can I dye my hair brown again or not?
