You, sir, are the very first commenter this channel has ever had. I hope you know you made a guy who's just trying very happy today. And thank you for your kind words 💚
I totally agree. I love my EM5, which I've had since 2018 or so. It's not snappy and it's mysteriously complicated at times, but always inspires me to walk around the "see" photos. I borrowed a 12-100 pro M.Zuiko lens and that really woke this camera up. Slap on good glass, you'll be amazed.
Loved the content and you took some great photos. I’m with you on the older Olympus bodies. I run a em5 mark ii and only use manual vintage lens. Look forward to seeing more videos.
Thank you! I have a collection of vintage lenses as well. My favorite of them all is my 58mm Helios 44K-4 paired with this em5 and a .7x focal reducer. I think it does a wonderful job of taking portraits.
I bet you're filipino. Eyyy! We have the same camera btw❤️ i like how well you walk us through your perspective. More videos like this, keep it up man!
my E-M5 is from 2012, and still works like a charm. Even the original battery still works, no swelling whatsoever. I recently buy 3rd party battery, since i use the BLN1 battery with my Pen-F as well. Thanks for this guys, keep it up.
@@CheapButGoodPhotography the Pen-F is just lovely. Everything is even better than the OG EM5, except the fully articulating screen lol. I prefer the em5 tilting screen for street shooting. Pen-F has e-shutter, so it can go to much higher shutter speed, so we can use fast lenses wide open during daytime near the equator. And my favourite feature, the color dial, we could instantly change to BW mode (Mono Profile 2 is my fave) and color mode (Color profile 3, my fave). Its a handsome cam, the built quality is just top notch, and even the shutter sound very therapeutic. Get it when you can.
I picked this up last year for $275 but you got an amazing deal! I just wish there were more out there about it. Trying to understand a few things about it and the manual is not so great. Changing autofocus modes, for example is not straight forward. Thanks so much!
I agree that the manual isn't so great, nor is the menu system at all user-friendly. Once you get the hang of it, though, the E-M5 is definitely one heck of a camera. If there's anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to ask. And thanks for taking the time to view the video 💚
Actually, the first mirrorless camera to have an integrated EVF wasn't the Fuji X-Pro 1 either... if we're talking straight up cameras and not specifically mirrorless cameras, there were a ton of point and shoot or bridge camereas in the 2000s that had some weird crappy EVFs, but they were integrated to the camera, and no through an attachement. If we're talking specifically about mirrorless ILC bodies, then I think the very first one was the Panasonic Lumix G1, very first micro-four thirds body from Lumix released in 2008. On other mounts, the Sony NEX 7 was the first Sony mirrroless on the E mount to have an EVF and it was released in 2010. On the Fujifilm side, the X100 would be released in 2011 and the X-Pro1 that was the very first X mount camera was released in 2012.
I have literally just bought one of these (the mk2) today. Just waiting for it to turn up.Purely because I am so fed up with swinging my Canon 80d around on little trips out, and holidays etc. Will still use my 80D for certain things (like motorsport and landscape) but aiming to use the Olympus for street walkabouts and jsut an easy carry/2nd set up.
I'm about 90% certain you're going to love it. Hope you paired it with a good lens, too! My 60D is also still on my roster. I use it for my macro stuff. But for the everyday use, my E-M5 gets the nod because of how light the entire kit is.
@@CheapButGoodPhotography just a 14-44 pancake zoom at the moment. Will def be looking to get a couple of primes for it too though. A nice slim 20mm for street stuff sounds lovely.
That's definitely a good price! I've only tried using manual lenses on it for my bird photography so I can't give you a definite answer with regards to birds in flight. However, I did manage to take some great photos of perched birds using the E-M5. Here's one of them for your reference: instagram.com/p/CsqzQR0xAtI/?img_index=3

And thank you for watching! Also, how you liking that Pen-F? That camera's been on my bucket list for a while now. That, the E-PL6, and the GX85.

Will it be sufficient enough for bird photography ? is 100-150 usd good price for it ?
