I feel like Ed is the one creating more problems in the relationship, he wants no arguing but he wont get all the stuff out in one conversation, he brings up different parts at different times so evey good part of the relationship is rplaced with the bad parts becuase Ed is genreting problems with his bits and peices he cant tkeep track of
and he puts mayo in his hair
He literally even lied before they even met each other (about his height) and after the show they had a whole interview where he was crying and explaining how he was basically lying all the time about stuff
Fr, he could've had a fair shot if he was honest. I can understand some of his points like asking about her kids father which is always something you should find out whenever you date someone with kids because you dont want any baby mama or baby daddy drama. And the fact he doesnt want kids, hes already in his 50s, if they had a kid, by the time its 20 hed already in his 70s so I can understand not wanting any more but he should've been more clear about it before hand and not lied.

They simply talked over each other and didn’t really communicate on one level and actually with each other. They wanted different things
Idgaf about age gaps in relationships, but this right here is why people tend to date within 5 years of their own age (fun fact, in the average successful marriage, the man is approximately 4 years older than the woman), when it comes to the topic of having a kid, a man in his mid-50s has about 20 years (on average) left to live. Meaning by the time his kids are starting jobs/careers, he will genuinely be approaching his age of death. He likely will never see that kid's wedding, his grandchildren etc.
You can say what you want about her in this regard but they both have ups and downs across the whole series.
Her being mad at him for asking about her past, to take an std test, these are things that are normal conversation before you date someone/have sex with someone.
Ed's false representation of who he is and what his desires have come to mind here, he lied about his height/appearance, he lied about being okay with the idea of having more kids. In general, he only tells the truth or becomes flattering when he's about to be left.
In general, the relationships you see on TLC will last as long as they do until the gold digger gets her money or until they figure out they lied to each other about their desires.
The reason my last 3 relationships are: 4.5 years, 1.5 years, and currently 1.6 years (ongoing) is down to effective communication and honesty.
I let my missus know what my intents, desires, and ideals were before we were together and we discuss them every 6 months minimum just so we know we're on the same page.
It doesn't help that 80% of the people on this show have their whole relationship on camera, thus you get an issue of anything you express being out there for the world. (It's why dating a fan would be awkward for celebrities/youtubers; you're on a date with someone who already has preconceived notions about you and will either be disappointed or offended by you being yourself lol)
