  • Sharing my first impressions and a walkthrough of A Yogic Path deck, showing the cards in the categories, not alphabetically like other videos! :) I hope this is helpful. I love Danielle Noel's art here so much and Sahara Rose did a good job with the book. I haven't learned much about yoga or Ayurveda but I feel like this could be a good primer. The deities though... LOVE.

Casper, I have always been drawn to Indian culture and the Vedas but because I live in the US it’s not something that I had a lot of experience with so when I saw this deck I ran out and bought it and I too felt like it was a bit of a splurge but I can tell you that these cards are always out on my altar. I agree with you that the artwork is stunning and respectful of the Indian culture. I use this deck every day, I use the deity cards as offerings to my ancestors by pulling a card for my ancestor altar and I also pull a card for myself for my personal alter so that I can spend time thinking about the gifts that these deities offer us. Recently I used the chakra cards to do a chakra reading where I laid out the chakra cards and then I used another deck to place a card on top of each chakra and I found it to be surprisingly enlightening and showed me how I am presenting myself in each chakra. I had recently seen a video on Sadhana’s channel, Integrated Healing with Sadhana, about chakra readings and I followed along and I found it really helpful. One of the things she says is that you can do a chakra reading every couple of months and see how your subtle body is changing and I really liked that idea. I hope you find this deck as useful as I have. I think you’ll find that you won’t be able to put them away!

Omg thanks Mercedes! They were a bit of a splurge, especially since I bought them just for the deity cards but I needed them!! I have also the same idea about using those chakra cards but I’m not sure about chakras and what I can do after a chakra reading but I’ll check out the channel you shared. Thank you so much ❤️❤️ I live in a country with many hindu practitioners so that’s lovely hehe

Oh wow, this deck is so beautiful & interesting! I've been interested in Indian culture & deities for a while, I feel like the deck could teach me a lot in that department. And as a Buddhist & yoga practitioner, I could see myself pulling a card each morning & focusing on that aspect for the rest of the day, eg. pranayama or bhakti. It looks like you could just take any one card & meditate on it with amazing results. But just like you, I feel most drawn to the deity cards, especially Shiva. Thank you for this walkthrough, I really appreciated learning about this deck!

Thanks for taking a gander at my video Vanessa, and super appreciate you leaving a comment. You being a yoga practitioner would really help you in appreciating this deck!! Because the card only shows the esoteric term, I always have to check the book and that creates a small barrier for me in understanding certain cards. But I'm super glad that you're drawn to the deity cards like myself; just proves to me the power of the art in the deck!!

Wonderful video and a beautiful deck! I've had my eye on this one, overall I really love the artwork and the vibe. The higher saturation is stunning. Thank you for sharing it with us! 🙂

The art in the diety deck are from Ancient Indian temples.

I definitely understand where you’re coming from. I too was also drawn to the deck because of the deities (I’m from a Hindu background) and the deck is definitely pretty. However I do feel that there is some sort of disconnect for me. I love when a deity card pops out and I tend to read the card with my understand of the backstory of the particular deity. The yoga cards, since I don’t really practice yoga, are my least favourite. The chakras I use as a way to indicate to me where I may have an off balance or where I’m keeping it in good balance. But yeah personally I definitely don’t completely understand the deck and although the guidebook has good intentions to inform you but I do feel that the meanings sometimes comes out as convoluted. Some cards sound the same to me and some of the art in relation to the word doesn’t make sense to me either. I’ve been thinking whether to take some cards out or not but I’m gonna give it some time :) Because despite my criticism I’ve just been shuffling the deck in the evenings and seeing what cards jump and they have been interesting in showing things to me ^^

I loveeee the deities in this deck; they did so well with those, instead of some of the more white-washed versions of the Hindu patheon in other decks. I do agree completely about the yoga cards (same, I don't practice yoga) and the chakras are all right, but I would use them more as "signifiers" or "placement" cards rather than a random draw. I wish I used this deck more -- I think you pulling these cards in the evenings will definitely add to your understanding of the deck!!!! I just have... too many decks to work with hahahaha

BoyDiviner yes! Hence why I am considering taking them out of the deck since I don’t feel compelled to them^^ However I am new to oracles so I’m not sure it this would be a taboo thing... Oh that’s interesting I will definitely keep that in mind for the chakras :D No problem dude I just really liked your review and that you actually delved into the deck before giving one instead of just opening the deck and sayings it’s pretty and therefore it a nice deck. I appreciate the honesty!

You have understood it really well ...better than many people.Y r u saying u didn’t resonate with this deck? U r underestimating yourself ! Your explanation about Buddha was really nice , About Rajas too was good enough ...many others were also explained very well! should work towards forming a connection wth the cards I guess!

Thank you so much! Yes, I've heard of that tarot but I don't like the floaty nature of the deck and I prefer this oracle deck because it has more of a grounded feel. Much appreciated!!!

  • @theslightlychippedmoon

I can lend u my Mahabharata:)))) they talk a lot about Parvathi, bhakti, Krishna (albeit in a less beautiful way), hanuman and Shiva (whom u know I like a lot)
And also I don't think I will know what use this deck will be for either! Haha
(Sarawati was the reason why Brahma is not worshipped as well in India).

Did you enjoy reading it? Thank you SO MUCH for telling me my video's audio has issues -- this will prevent me from making this same mistake (the THIRD time) when I record with my phone. I'm curious about your last statement -- maybe we can discuss more when we meet!! :)

BoyDiviner perhaps not the ending but I love the process of getting to the Big Battle (that's why I love the Mahabharata and not so much the shorter one)
No worries; you have helped me a lot too, and sure, why not!
