  • In 2022 I met an incredible Belgian man in Baja California, who was breaking a world record by handbiking from Alaska to Mexico. We kept in touch and he asked if I would like to support him on his next adventure in India. He had already broken the record for the longest ever handbike. Now he wanted to break the record for the highest ever handbike ride! I said I'd love to help him and we got planning!
In May 2024 we finally set off and although I could only help for 3 weeks, I got stuck in! Part 1 shows us arrive into Mumbai, get the bikes ready and travel by train up to the startling in Khambhat, Gujarat. Here we prepare ourselves for the road ahead as the journey begins.
We deal with intense heat, adjust to Indian culture and of course try lots of local cuisine!
If you enjoy the video please like and subscribe and if you have any questions chuck them down in the comments and I'll be happy to answer.
Finally, if you want to watch more of me check out my adventure series where I cycle from Alaska to Argentina! It's not yet finished though with more videos coming soon!

That looks like an adventure! Have you used a hand bike? If so what was it like?

When I was in Mexico I borrowed Michiels for a quick ride. On the flats it seemed enjoyable but picking up speed on downhill pretty scary! Mainly due to turning being quite difficult. However, uphill is absolute hell. Your arms are just not meant for that kind of endurance! After a minute of uphill riding mine were on fire!
