  • Hi guys! Do you ever wonder how to turn off traction control in your Prado 150, when you are in low range 4wd? This video will go through step by step how to do this and also go through how to put it into low range 4wd. This is very handy when you want to drive in soft sand on the beach. Don't forget to let down your tyres! Hope you enjoy

    I got my kakadu bogged in the beach sand this arvo, i thought my traction was turned off until now I watched your video and realise you have to hold the button in. I was wondering why my prado felt like 2 wheel drive not 4x4. Got the secret now back on the sand again next week. Thanks for sharing this information.

    Hi Mike, you mentioned in one of your other videos (Bribie boggy sand) that you use L4 through the beach access but once on the beach drive along the in H4 most of the time. Is your centre diff locked when in H4?

    • @prado150outahere
      @prado150outahere  Před rokem +1

      Yes I leave it locked. Personal opinion. Some would say you don't need to. I always do. 👍

    Sometimes it doesn't go into or out of 4WD Low and the light flashes . You then have to rock the car forward and back a little bit using Drive and Rev until the light stops blinking .

      @prado150outahere  Před 2 lety

      Yes you can leave in H4, you can turn off track control. If you mean the transfer case lock off, yes you can.

    Hi I Made a stupid mistake an I blew out my gearbox driving in low range on the beach without traction control and diff lock in I was driving locked in 4 gear driving at 40 kms but my gear box failed I had to rebuilt.
    so before I am going back to the sand. if the sand is not that soft 4H traction control off and front and rear diff locked in. but if the sand is too soft traction control off, front and rear diff locked in and 4L in D not exceeding 40 kms is that right?

    • @prado150outahere
      @prado150outahere  Před 9 měsíci

      Yeah I probably wouldn't be doing more then 40km/h in low range. Not sure why your gear box would have done that maybe it had other issues. But yeah, I mainly use high range, traction control OFF and the transfer case locked in, and of course tyre pressures lowered to at least down to 20psi. 👍

      Sorry just one more question sport mode or S just limit the car to drive up to the select gear ? in my case I had the car in low range 4 gear and speed under 40km/h ?
      Or sport mode S is for semi automatic I don’t thinks that is the case ?
      Please advise

    • @prado150outahere
      @prado150outahere  Před 9 měsíci

      I call it manual mode. I always use the manual mode when I'm beach or even 4wdriving. Yes you want to control the gears. For example if you had it at 3, then it won't go past 3. It is like semi automatic. I personally think that 40km/h is too fast in low range, I'd be holding the gear in 2nd and in high range. Only my personal opinion. 👍
