Btw this card isn’t worth $170k Last one sold for about $15k in PSA 10. Still probably the best you can get from this set

I... didn't know the dark dragonite had a non foil error. I always thought it just wasn't holo. Seeing this pricing kills me though, cuz I used to have one before I lost my Pokémon cards
There is a non holo one too. The one he is talking about is a non holo with the number on the bottom of the card being the holo one.

If it's any consolation, your card probably wasn't in the best of shape and was likely a 6, maybe a 7
I know for 100% certainty I have a first edition base set not shadowless that is incomplete in my parents attic. I know it has the big three I think I was missing 2 9 card holder pages worth of cards. They are in a purple 3 ring binder but my mom disowned me for smoking weed said I’m ruining my life and will not let me enter her house. My dad is trying to find it for me but he is 69 and has no idea what Pokémon are so maybe one day I will get them. Started that collection when I was 10 years old and i have some old magic card boosters I got for Christmas one year unopened my aunt thought they were Pokémon lol no idea what set they are though.

As I am VonDoom himself, I sold the card for between $30 and a pack of smokes and right around 1mil. It also got a PSA 10, but it should have probably been a 9. Thanks PSA for the hook up!

Why is dark dragonite like… everywhere in these vintage openings? every short I stumble upon of team rocket boosters always shows this dragonite holo, error, or non holo. Its like the Steelix EX of Vintage packs haha
Who would actually pay thousands of dollars, or even hundreds of thousands, for a card??? I could see spending maybe $100 if it’s super rare, but $1000? Crazy!
Just bought a booster pack and pulled 5 bangers at once my mind was blown till I started investigating and found out i had very good fakes. Your non holo dragonite has very noticeable color differences.. literally to good to be true 👍 best luck

I always love it when people want to quote the price of a PSA 10 for a non graded card. Just because it’s pack fresh doesn’t mean it will get a 10 and the cost of grading high value cards is all pricey especially if you want the card back in a decent time frams

That's the error. Dragonite has #5 which is the number of the holo version, this one doesn't have the holo but does have #5 so it's an error and pops up in different slots of the pack

Reminds me of being a kid and at the right theater and the right place in line at the 1st Pokémon movie to get one of the Mewtwo upside down WB logo errors. There's only like 3-4 known to exist in the world. They're not really that valuable because they are so rare not many ppl know about them, including the other 3 pokemon you could also get in said error, but it's still cool nonetheless. There's supposedly 30 of each that escaped the factory and didn't get destroyed but only very few have been found, including mine which i've kept ever since. I remember asking all the other kids there if there's was unside down and none were so I knew to keep it safe, which was hard with no protector with me and buttery popcorn hands, which is what probably happened to most of the missing copies. That or they ended up on the theater floors and into the trash by the ushers.

I think I'd be a bit more jumpy and scream-y if I pulled a card that was worth more than even like £800 so something this rare would have me almost throw it in anxiety and now want to touch it without being terrified to ruin it's value. I would not be opening a vintage set without sanitation gloves on either.
