Easy Saltine Toffee l Nilly's Recipe Book

  • With the holiday season upon us, what better way then to make an easy snack? These saltine toffees are the best combination of sweet and salty.
    Ingredients:
    • saltines
    • brown sugar -1 cup
    • butter- 1 cup or two sticks
    • sprinkles - to spread
    • chocolate of your choice
    • cooking spray
    Method:
    1. Place saltine crackers on a greased aluminum tray in a single layer
    2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
    3. On high flame put butter and sugar in the pot and mix. Allow the mixture to boil with no stirring for 3-4 minutes.
    4. Turn off heat and carefully pour the butter and sugar mixture to the crackers. Spread evenly.
    5. Place in oven for 3-4 minutes or until the butter and sugar mixture bubble.
    6. Carefully take out the crackers from oven and place the chocolate bars on top. Allow the heat to melt the chocolate and spread evenly. Spread sprinkles ontop.
    7. Refrigerate until chocolate hardens and then break into pieces.
    8. Enjoy!
