Stationed in Honolulu, Yoshikawa’s intelligence was used by the Japanese to launch a devastating attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. The massacre brought the USA in to WW2, and ultimately led to Japan’s crushing defeat. He shares his unsettling story with Vanessa Kirby. From SPYSCAPE, the home of secrets. A Cup And Nuzzle production. Takeo Yoshikawa is voiced by Eiji Mihara. Series producer: Gemma Newby. Produced by Morgan Childs. Music by Nick Ryan.

My dad and mom were at Schofield post in a duplex on December 7th 1941, arguing over who could fix the best waffles. The Japanese Imperial Navy decided for them, no one was going to cook waffles in my family that morning. Dad had been in WW1, mustered out, spent 3 years in the Merchant Marines, then in 1922 rejoined the U.S.Army. He spent about 15 years in horse drawn field artillery. He was the only NCO at several Army posts to ride with the Horse Show team. He married my mom in 1930, and both went to TH in 1940. I learned far more about his military life from his friends and finally from his records from the VA after his death in 1987, than I ever learned from him. He just never talked about it. He won the KNOX medal in I think 1927 under his assumed name "Arnold". He had had a heart murmur and had re-enlisted in 1922 under that false name. In 1930 he had to fess up to his real identity. The Army changed his name back to the original, and did not find out about his heart until after WW2 started. He was able to stay in to retirement as a CWO4. We petitioned the Navy Department for his "Pearl Harbor" medal. Mom did not qualify because she was not considered enlisted personnel, just being a dependent at the time.
I remember Dad talking among his friends, after the war, about Japanese spies at Pearl. I cannot remember names. Just interesting that he and some of his military buddies talking about it, and now
    this doumentary.

So... USA wanted world domination? So... did not want to enter war, war of Germany (that started war for "more room to grow" then aligned with Japan that didn't? While taking over Pacific... humm, right.... Oh, and reason war criminals lucked out was because USA thought didn't want to cause problems/may need other countries because Cold War just broke out. Just ask "Louie" Zamperini.
