In this video, I react for the first time to the Australian artist Kim Dracula and their original song “Make Me Famous”. In this video, I analyse this amazing performance, explain and demonstrate Kim Dracula's vocal techniques and tell you what I think made it so great. This is a powerful message conveyed through in a very wild way and I'm so glad I got to react to it!

Hello, gorgeous! I'm Lolli, your Fairy Voice Mother. I am a voice teacher & vocal anatomy nerd specialising in contemporary techniques. I have a degree in vocal performance, and I am studying for a masters degree in voice pedagogy. I sing all the time in styles such as pop, jazz, rock, metal, soul, Hindustani, Carnatic and I am constantly learning and practicing new vocal skills. I just bloody love singing. It's my favourite thing in the whole world, and because I love you, I want you to sing too. I believe everyone can sing, and my mission with this channel is to break down techniques that are so often portrayed as something to be exclusively accessed by people with a special talent. Well. Special talents can be learnt, and I am here to teach them to you.
For voice lessons, workshops and video submissions please check out my website www.thefairyvo...
I'm so excited to be a part of your singing journey, It's one that truly never ends.
    Love you forever,
    The Fairy Voice Mother x

Not a jab, btw, Tassie has some of the strongest antidiscrimination laws around these days. Just weird.❤

I think that it's kind of sad someone who isn't even from the States understands the issues we are facing more so than most citizens here. Don't bother trying to make strict gun laws, you'll just have a bunch of idiots crying about their rights to have a gun, seemingly not even worried about all the school shootings and other similar events.

  • @nikitahankinson9546

You really should have looked up the lyrics. Kim's music is very political. This whole song is about how we glorify violence. Through movies and entertainment, remebering the names of serial killers or school shooters instead of their victims and even through the military and police forces (these departments can attract messed up people too, but they are classed as heroes because they are fighting for their country). This is a really powerful song and yes kim does go for shock value but there is an important message behind it.

As someone who resides in the country in question... what I will say is that you have no idea how much I appreciate and love when you said not being from here, you don't know the reality of things here and it would be inappropriate to comment. I think too many people just give opinions on a way of life that's just not something they're even familiar with. So hats off to you, I appreciate you!

You don't have to be from the US to realize that guns, and the braindead morons who idolize them, are the problem here. That's not just an opinion; it's an opinion based on facts. If you couldn't figure out that she was just being diplomatic when she said "I don't live there so I can't comment", then you're probably one of the braindead morons that think your right to own a gun is more important than everybody else's right to not be shot

I absolutely love your reaction. I’ve seen probably 20 different reactions from vocal coaches and other musicians. I always giggle when it gets to the horn section and see everybody’s reaction. Isn’t he precious. He is such a doll and has such Golden Retriever energy in person. I honestly hope he stays that way. When I first heard this song just a few months ago, I had discovered it on Instagram. And I’m like OMG who the fuck is this!!! I probably watched this video about 15 times that night. The whole album, A Gradual Decline in Morale is absolutely amazing. Every song is so different. There are pieces in each song where he or the music sounds like Red Hot chili peppers, Mr. bungle, Korn, Deftones, Ghostemane, Manson, Nine Inch Nails, king diamond, cradle of filth, Ville Valo. It’s all over the damn place and I love it. He’s so talented and so gorgeous! I just saw him with In This Moment a few weeks ago in Charlotte, North Carolina and he’s even better live. He put on such a great show. And I love what you said about your world. living in a world of rainbows. I’m not sure where you live but you are very lucky. I am in the US and it’s a shit show, it’s so embarrassing. I don’t think there will ever be peace here. It’s not the outside world, it’s the people within our own country. It sucks. Anyway, look forward to seeing more of your Kim Dracula reactions. This one is the only one I’ve seen so far but I would love for you to react to the band Ghost if you haven’t already. Year Zero in particular. 💜🖤💜 ps…Can you react to Kim’s LAND OF THE SUN? I don’t think there’s a video for it yet though. The song is another that has like 20 different genres a minute.

It seems like the music is also a big part of the story and commentary on consumerism regarding violence. Like the jazz music makes me think how we adore and consume news about violence like we´re at a show. All fine and dandy. People are either sterilized or/and grave for blood, gore and violence and it´s like "music to their ears". Lounging on a sofa, watching the world burn.

Purely because it’s different and creative and in your face. The violence is really disturbing but obviously that’s the point. Definitely not for everyone but I’d rather be surprised by stuff like this than hear 20 other songs that all sound the same…

The wider reaction to this song is typical. People always shoot the messenger (pun intended). The fact that the artist felt this is so out of hand that a song like this needs to exist is the real problem. I'm so glad our fairy voice mother can see the art here, and the purpose for it existing. It is not meant to be simple entertainment. In the tradition of many good metal bands, sometimes you need a slap in the face to open your eyes.

What an Edge Lord. Give me a break. Pretend it's a parody when it's basically what he's actually doing. Throw enough random crap together and somebody somewhere will mistake it for being deep when it's actually surface level af.

There may well be skill and artistry here, but I find the whole construct juvenile and rather pathetic. The message could probably be conveyed by something that was listenable instead. Very american.
I won't be listening to any more of Kim Dracula if this is at all typical.

Ironic, considering Kim Dracula isn't even from any of the Americas.

I had the same thought. The irony on how Americans don’t realise how non Americans see America I guess

being a band of one is pure talent. playing the drums and guitar parts and singing is all in one. i do love the part where kim points out how becoming a cop or going to war is a reason people do it to be able to hurt/kill legally.
