- The Princess of Wales has revealed that she is being treated for cancer.
Catherine stepped back from royal duties when she had abdominal surgery in January.
In a video she said she had initially thought her condition was "non-cancerous" but subsequent tests found that cancer was present.
She said it had been an "incredibly tough couple of months" for her and her family, and that she was undergoing chemotherapy and "getting stronger every day".
The announcement comes at a time when King Charles is also receiving treatment for cancer.

I felt all along that your privacy should have been respected and you left alone w/your family. It makes me cry to learn of your condition, but so many new things have been developed to treat people who have that disease. My daughter at age age 25 had a cancermous tumor in her spinal column. She received surgery (5-1/2 hrs) and then radiation treatment for 6 weeks. She survived and is now 49 years old. I agree there is hope, and I definitely hope that for you, Princess Catherine. I’m American, not British, and this brought a tear to my eye. She always comes across so lovely, so kind and so likable. I always thought the RF was lucky to have her. I wish her a complete recovery and all the best for her family and children. Hopefully all the gossip will now stop.

@@auntiefan4202 Of course it is unique BUT Charles and Sarah will have more understanding of what she is going through than William will have purely because THEY have been/are going through it themselves. They will know about the little things like aches,lack of appetite, longings for this or that - things my friend (who had, and has survived so far, 10 years and counting breast cancer) could discuss with another of her friends who had survived ovarian cancer but which her husband - a doctor - didn't understand in the same way. Sort of like being able to discuss pregnancy with another woman who has been through it - and each pregnancy is unique - rather than a male friend because they KNOW what you are going through in many ways, or those who have had an amputation know what it is like compared to someone who hasn't. Not so much that they are all the same because they aren't but many of the LITTLE things are the same (I remember reading a book about a double amputee - Douglas Bader I think - where it mentioned the phantom pain/ limbs and how it was only another amputee who could truly understand how irritating it was because while doctors/friends could sort of understand in principle it was only another sufferer who could truly understand the irritation caused). Cancer is similar, it's the little things that you can talk about and which they will understand whereas someone who hasn't gone through can sympathise but won't necessarily understand how it feels.

I had the same situation with her before 10 years ago, surgery first then diagnosed cancel then chemo. It was the darkest time in my life and need time to accept and fight with the disease. Cancel now is a chronic disease and she’s doing the preventative chemo so that’s the early stage. She will watch the small little ones growing up, like me. ❤

As any woman, like myself, who has undergone a total hysterectomy (everything cut out...gone, empty), we knew something was amiss with the Princess.
Not only is this surgery a physical shock to the body, but the drop in hormone levels, added to the news of cancer is totally and mentally devastating and emotionally paralyzing. Princess Catherine is too young for this.
Thus saying, with all due respect, her p.r. people at the Palace handled this badly. They were the ones who created the media circus and unwanted attention by failing to be transparent, so poor Princess Catherine and her beautiful family had to deal with the fallout and now face the people.
She has done so with great class!
Now bug off and leave her alone to breathe and heal.
