More than likely, its a quote by Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu. You are doing a disservice to your audience and probably Taoism by trying to attribute it to the obviously wrong individual.

    What are the sizes of the drums used for each pond? The drums in the front look like 55 gallon drums and the trash can looks like a 32 gallon trash can. How much PVC pipe did you use for this set up? I also want to build a backup generator just in case of a power outage. I’m trying to build something like this in my back yard to become more self sufficient due to all the rising prices here in the US. I’m also planning to build a chicken coop on my property too. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it!

    I'm using an 18 foot dough boy with new liner, center drain for cleaning. I have unlimited water. I will use the so called waste water on the garden areas. I like the duck weed cages. I plan on using solar for aeration, an solar lighting to attract bugs, It does work well with blue gill fish. I need to cover my pools with netting or wire for bird protection.

    My roommate is thinking of raising some type of fish for food in our backyard. She doesn't have a clue where to start leaning how to do the whole fish filter/pump ect setup on a small scale & later take it to another level as experience is gained. Plus living in Colorado can be brutal in the winter so not sure if having a tank setup outside would be wise even under a roof like your setup. Cool idea about growing duckweed in floating baskets to feed your fish.

      Oh yeah, living in colorado is kind of hard to raise fish, it has to be indoor & need water heater to maintain right temperature during winter, but nothing is imposiible if fishkeeping is your passion. Thanks for liking my video.

I am smart enough to have a lot of fish but too soft to kill them on a schedule and the bigger they grow the more I want to keep them. Oh well.

    • @BackyardHobby
      @BackyardHobby  Před 2 lety +3

      It depends on how strong & how big your filtration when it comes to stocking density. On my 1000gal tank setup i can stock 300 tilapia that has weight of 2lbs each. 300 x 2 = 600lbs = 266kgs annually. I only harvest whenever my family feels like eating fresh tilapia usually weekend when were all together.
