- Chris Elliott guests on Later to discuss his career and promote the second season of "Get a Life."
The video to his first scripted Late Night appearance is here: • Chris Elliott's First ...
I loved this show. Just Bob Costas and a guest for 30 minutes. No studio audience. Just two people having a conversation. It was great. Chris Elliott (along with his father Bob), Dave Letterman, Martin Sheen, Julian Bond, Jesse Ventura, and Jim Brown are some that I recall. My God. How could I forget Marilu Henner? Damn.
Bob Costas has been on Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast twice. It's pretty special!
Chris Elliot: funniest man alive.
I love that he’s wearing David Byrne’s jacket
Bob Costas was one of the greatest interviewers ever! You'd think he was a meathead jock, but he'd ask artists some of the most beautiful questions and give them time to talk.
Costas is always intelligent and funny, one of the best interviewers. Only people who think all athletes and sportswriters and casters are dumb who could think that Costas is a meathead, even for a second... it says nothing about Costas and everything about the person that automatically thinks that Costas, being a sportcasters, must be a meathead.
I Highly recommend Daddy's Boy. Simply an amazing book.
To this day, Brando's banana dance still cracks me up!
This is so cool! Thanx.
Loved the Letterman/Elliot/Costas trifecta! And still do.
Thanks Don!
I bought that exact same sports jacket that Chris is wearing in early 1992
This was great, but the appearance they reference at the beginning of the interview (with Bob Elliott) was even funnier. I hope we can see that one eventually.
Yeah, I plan to put up all of the Chris/Bob interviews I've collected (not that many, maybe three or four).
Cool footage
The guy under the seats seems to be a riff on Bill Murrays appearance on the first Late Night in Feb '82. Murray at one point turns to Dave and starts threatening him saying "I swear Letterman if its the last thing I do, im going to spend every waking moment.,. making your life.. a living hell...." Now I think about it, I don't recall seeing Bill Murray on any other show but Dave's, ever.
As I referred -- and included the clip -- when uploading the "Guy Under the Seats" colleciton: czcams.com/video/ccOS5OSrubg/video.html
Don Giller Nice. I will check it out Don.

God bless us...every one.
Always loved Chris's act and always will ~ I am wallet boy ~
The old Bob and Ray radio skits were hilarious
Still amazing he sired Abby Elliot.

Thank you, could you upload the interview with him and his dad
I've been planning to do that along with other book promotion appearances. Hopefully later this week.

His Marlon Brando Is The Best!
Popular enough on Fox tv than glee?
My love of chris Elliott is not… line?
Are his childhood stories made up? I hope so.
Is this all made up?
Made up in what way?
@@dongiller I don't know. He's such a phenomenal ad libber. I feel like he hilariously and seamlessly flows between reality and the absurd.
@@danaskin5797 I sense he was honest for interviews such as this.
Bob Costas didn't' know how to roll with the joke at the end. He's smart with his witticisms, needs to be the smartest in the room. but doesn't know how to make others look good I guess.
I think he played it exactly as planned. His failure to reciprocate Chris’ gift is the final joke of the interview. That leaves Chris exclaiming, “Bob? Bob?”
