    Just wanted to add a comment for anyone reading this later; the comets in Sanctity are quite generous on how close they can be. It is possible to consistently clear Sanctity with a "bad pattern" of towers like NW/SW, NE/SE, etc. Both players should be as close to mid as possible while still being in their tower, and then you'll follow the same "zig-zag" dodge path, but you can stutter step to lower your distance traveled. The comets will be much closer, but they can be VERY close without exploding. It takes some practice, but my group used this as opposed to having to adjust E/W and got it consistently every time. This tech can also be applied to give you more room for "suboptimal" towers, like N/SW for example, which would be harder for the SW player but easier for the N.

    Really clear guide! Thanks for putting this out! I especially appreciated the detailed discussion of the meteors part of Sanctity as I'm almost there, just cleaning up Strength :) At least on Primal, I've been seeing people do PLD relative Sanctity of the Ward dashes/orbs over using the DRK. Light parties split up E/W, sword markers split up similarly to the DRK strat (1 far, 2 close and role partners swap) and then the parties go E/W perpendicular to their PLD. Just like the DRK strat, we pay attn to which way the PLDs are facing - we run in the opposite direction of the way they're facing and run back to our starting position after the orbs at our safe spot go off (because one more dash after that from the PLDs will make it unsafe after) - not 100% on this last part, but it looks like the first safe spot before the dodge back is ~5 crystals from the next snowflake on the edge of the arena (can't confirm as I haven't resolved the dashes properly with this strat yet, haven't gotten back to Sanctity yet). Sharing a clip from woops explaining it cause it's much more concise lol czcams.com/video/JfTnDl9FuIw/video.html - thanks again for the guide! :)

    • @HectorHectorson
      @HectorHectorson  Před 2 lety +2

      I've seen PLD relative Sanctity, the downside is the slightly higher damage on the parties as a result of not going fully opposite the DRK for the first dash. It can definitely simplify things, but the healer in me doesn't like having to find extra mitigation.

    Amazing guide Hector!
    There's also a different way of doing 1st part of Sanctity and it would be almost the same, but positioning the light parties on the E/W cardinals. Then you check where the closes PLD add is facing and move to the opposite direction (not to the marker itself but 2-3 crystals appart from the fidget spinner). There would be 1 safe spot there so once the orbs that made that safe spot explode you move back to the cardinal you started on.

    I don't want to spread misinformation, but at 5:32, our group noticed that the tethers never go to players with the blue mark. The tanks always go towards Thordan with the unmarked player and gets the tethers on the way there. Aside from that, love your works :D

    Hi! Great guide as always! You mentioned that there are believed to be only 18 possible tower patterns during sanctity, I was wondering if you have a list you wouldn't mind sharing? Based only on the apparent tower conditions, there would seem to be more than 18 possible variations, but if there really are only 18, then that would mean there's actually a hand-chosen set of configurations. Would be cool if I could actually see the full set!

    Does going to the third crystal before the next fidget spinner work for both possible patterns on the dashes before meteors? The closest knight to where you start is going to look at one of two possible markers, which affects the safe spots normally.
    I know based on which marker the knight closest to you is looking at, I've been doing one of two possible dodges. Either a baby step dodge, or basically a full run.

    • @HectorHectorson
      @HectorHectorson  Před 2 lety

      As long as you start 3 crystals in the direction the knights are facing, and stop 3 crystals before the next fidget spinner, the dodge works perfectly every time, with no change needed.

    • @kuri_curry
      @kuri_curry Před 2 lety

      In his video, they are looking at East and West.
      East and West are in the Cardinal direction.
      If they are angled slightly upwards, then that would be South West and North East and thus inter cardinal. If they were looking directly down. They'd be looking South, which is again cardinal.
      That's really about it.

    • @kuri_curry

      To add, if this helps you can stare at their swords? That marks their "front".

    What do you mean by crystals on the arena? Those blue things, right?

    • @HectorHectorson
      @HectorHectorson  Před 2 lety

      At the very edge of the arena, there are small crystals all along the outside. At every cardinal/intercardinal there is a larger crystal that looks a bit like a fidget spinner. These crystals are great for knowing the exact distance to move for things like the spread in strength of the ward, or the PLD dashes in sanctity of the ward. Hope this helps!

  • @DarkDyllon
    @DarkDyllon Před 2 lety

    what my group is doing for 1st trios since we're also in discord together is we made each markers color be opposite to each other.
    this way someone who sees the safe spot can call the color
    for example "red" and then we know it's north+south of safe (or A and 1)
    seems much more concistent with that, we've also made it that group 1 take the letters (ABCD) and group 2 takes numbers (1234)
    honestly, the main problem i'm currently having with 1st trios is the safe spots for the lightning AOE's/thordans spawn, i know how to easily locate him, but a lot of the time i get confused by who is the paladin (since Thordan basically spawns in the middle of those 2 paladins on the side farthest away from them)

    whats a trio? why do people call it that?

    • @HectorHectorson
      @HectorHectorson  Před 2 lety

      In the first ever Ultimate, UCoB, the fight had several mechanics in which the three bosses would jump away, and then you would have to do a very challenging mechanic while the boss was untargetable. These were all called trios (Quickmarch Trio, Blackfire trio, etc.)
      Since then, every ultimate has had an equivalent style of mechanic, and in this fight, it's the Thordan combos.

    There is more than one bad pattern for Sanctity. There were only two towers mid, SSW and NNW towers, so E/W was the only solution. I can post PoVs to you later but there are definitely more patterns.
    And if cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/919800220651515925/971608244416024587/FRbiQ37agAAXEI4.jpg

      @HectorHectorson  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for bringing this up! I've started paying more attention to the cursed patterns my group has gotten, and there are definitely more than the 18 patterns that have been shared in that image. I'll make a note in the video description to let people know that there are more patterns than previously thought.

    • @WeskAlber
      @WeskAlber Před 2 lety +1

      @@HectorHectorson Personally I think there are 0 patterns. I think there are only a set of rules in play.
      1. 8 towers
      2. At least 1 on the outside of each quadrant, no more than 2 per quad
      3. 5 or 6 outside, 3 or 2 inside.
      With just these rules there is enough to guarantee no impossible patterns, only patterns you must adjust E/W for.
