New A01-Race Strategy confirmed??? WOW!😳

- A01-Race will always be a map I am passionate about. Started hunting it back in 2016 and achieved my first WR Equal in December 2017 with 23.87. Since then I was unable to beat my time, whenever I tried to improve again... Seeing Drarker hunt this map again after trabadia and riolu's records got yeeted, and also Karl Jobst setting a decent time here, while being completely new to the game, motivated me to try again.
These past few days I've been experimenting and relearing every little detail there is to know about the map, changing my driving setup several times to try to best suit the map, studying the new TAS run(s) to try to understand where more time can be gained, etc. My thought process was simple: With the old way (1 SD), the TAS is 23.80, but with 2 SDs, a small one in the first left turn, the TAS was improved to 23.75. That's .05 of potential time save.
So why hasn't anyone gone for it yet? Well, SDs at such low speeds (400) are...very, and I mean, VERY, precise. To even gain a little extra speed you need to execute it to near perfection, which adds another layer of difficulty to the map. But if you hunted it long enough, surely you would get a few good attempts? That was my thought process atleast. With me equalling the WR by Drarker and missing out on a 23.85 by just 4 thousandths, I think I've proven that doing both SDs can be faster even if you are a mere mortal.
The potential for this map has now increased, I would wager that a low 23.8x is in the realm of possibility, even though it is still ridiculously hard. I guess time will tell how much this record can be pushed down even further...

I started playing this game 3 months ago, and got hooked with A01. Seing people that keeps pushing the boundaries of what's possible in a 13 year old game is so inspiring and it's what made me fall in love with this game. Don't dare you stop until you get the .85!

I started tm 3 weeks ago and I was practicing SD but I was bad at it, so i was asking myself why cant I do it twice to make up for the time I lose at the downhill
You can't do the first one without a near perfect downhill because you won't have enough speed...

It's called a speed-drift honey. You simultaneously tap brake and either left/right then immediately return to accelerate while tapping the left/right key to maintain the drift

Would you be willing to share your asphalt marks dds file? Those are really clean.
Go to GameData\Vehicles\Media\Texture\Image and change "AsphaltMarks" to the "GrassMarkFenceIntens" (just copy, paste and rename them to AsphaltMarks, rename the original AsphaltMarks to something else if you want to swap back)
Impressive! Maybe people will start hunting again now that the cheaters have been found out. I know trabadia's run was taken down putting riolu to #1. Was his run a slow-mo run or have all his runs been taken down?

They're the grass skidmarks. Go to the folder where your main installation is of Trackmania (usually C:\Program Files\TmNationsForever), then go to GameData\Vehicles\Media\Texture\Image. Copy GrassMarkFenceIntens.dds and rename it to AsphaltMarks.dds, then delete the original AsphaltMarks.dds file (or rename it to AsphaltMarks_original.dds).
why trabadia`s 23.86 isnt show with drarker`s 23.86? I know, trabadia`s .85 and .83 was TASed, but .86 didnt.

pls can some1 explain what TAS and SD are? hahsah ive been followin the scene for 2months now and im still not familiar with some terms
TAS - Tool assisted speedrun. Basically using external tools to go frame by frame and input perfect controls to get the best time possible.
SD - Speed Drift. It's a drift in trackmania that makes you go faster (unlike any other drift ever), and I think it can only be achieved once you're over 400 km/h in the game.
I have never got this speed drifting to work. Or to gain any speed with it. All I get is those skidmarks and then the speed is slower when cornering normally. Is it even possible with a keyboard?
Controller is better for sding, since you dont have to tap and you always full steer on kb
But it's def possible, it just requires a bit more practise

how do you get the drift trails look like that
I think you have to go into the trackmania folders and you have to change the texture of the trails. Same as when you want LED light under your car, you just change the color of the shadows
go to Wirtual's stream and type !skidmarks for a tutorial
