My replacement vent holes do not match the existing holes, although the ductwork sizes match. Do you have any video or advice for this situation?

Is it better to face the register blowing towards the wall or the room
One of the two existing screws holding the register to the ceiling is not budging. It appears not to be vertical as it should be. Any tips for dislodging the stuck screw?
Could it be paint? Breaking the bond with a flat head screwdriver
what size screw do I use. mine is not working...
I want to replace the vent but my existing cut out is 2" too big for both length and width. Is there a way to decrease the cutout size by an inch on all sides?
you add material (wood, sheetrock, ect) or you can get bigger vent or a vent with a bigger lip. hope that helps. good luck.
hi I just moved in new place and there are metal covers under floor registers, are these so that thing dont fall in the vents? OR what other reason are they there? I can provide a picture.
it seems that your particular install is a extra line of protection , sometimes called a vent trap or mesh or filter. because its located on the floor, nothing can accidentally fall in , like when cleaning or other scenarios. hope this helps.

Here are a few things that can help. heat from a heat gun or blower. Putty knife or spatula. And a knife to cut around any adhesive.

How often should you clean inside the vent? My mom has never cleaned her vents in her house and now I’m scared 😱
usually 1 or 2 a year depending on you're particular situation or every changing season. it all depends on the dust accumulation, you can always take one down and make guided estimate to see how its doing.

You replaced the vent. The register is the box that connects the ducting to the vent.
I took the screws out and the vent is stuck
Maybe it has caulking around the vent.
