Who has listened to the whole album?? I had on repeat yesterday pretty much all day. My favorites are "Moonlight" and "Dear My Friend". I love the good feel of both songs. In "Moonlight" I just love the kind of old school hip hop drumbeat and the inclusion of a muted trumpet SOOO COOOL. And in "Dear My Friend" the composition makes me feel nostalgic but happy at the same time, the chord progression is amazing and the hook is super catchy, really like the whole arrangement of this song, it reminds of one of my favorite Japanese singer's YUKI. Much love to everyone ❤❤

So anyway, as BTS his stage name is Suga. AgustD is Suga spelled backwards TD is from Daegu Town also spelled backwards, Daegu is his hometown, but Daegu Town is also the name of his underground crew

If and when you react to AgustD (it's the title song of his mixtape also called AgustD, the one from 2016), please remember this when he says "A to the G to the U to the STD, I'm D boy because I'm from D" is him spelling AgustD and saying he is from Daegu. I know you don't really care about the lyrics but it's just a curiosity :)))
Anyway, besides that, in this song and MV he mentions Bang Shi-Hyuk PD (The CEO of BigHit Entertainment) and they show the iconic drawing of him made by the youngest member of BTS Jungkook 😂😂 and in the begining, when he bumps into a man and that man turns around, that man is the oldest member of BTS Jin with beard. And then you can see Jin fighting with Jungkook 😂😂

I like Interlude Shadow too on Map of the Soul: 7. It's a similar feel of Daechwita. Also Suga's Interlude with Halsey on her Manic album. I'm not a big rap fan but damn Agust D is turning me around.

Some of the songs on his new mixtape "D-2" are softer and not as hard-hitting as this, you should definitely check out all of the tracks! And btw he produced all the tracks.
7:30 music videos out of korea especially from big budget kpop groups (bts, exo, twice, got7, red velvet, blackpink, big bang, seventeen) tend to be insanely cool. even videos from smaller/indie companies look 10x better than half the music videos coming out over here. there are people who like to just watch the videos purely for their production and aesthetic value, even if they don't particularly like the music.
When I first saw Boy with Luv I was WHAT? Who are these sexy guys with this color pallette and sound! I've been trapped ever since. American music just seems so boring now. Lyrics, music and videos - everyone just twerking, ho hum.
I'm usually partial to rock/metal myself but this has to be one of my favorite tracks of all time now! I agree about how it hits you the same way metal does and I think it's because his style is more of a hardcore rap so it shares that same energy. It definitely made it's way to my workout playlist haha

The story in Scarlet Heart Ryeo is about King Gwangjong, 4th King of Goryeo era. He also was a bloody King.
There is a movie Masquerade about Joseon Gwanghae from 2012, where the King gets replaced by a lookalike common boy.

Regarding my interpretation i refuze to believe that Min Yoongi,or Agust D ,or Suga it would be a character in the video.
I've read many comments stating in which it is claimed that he killed himself.
Min Yoongi,or Agust D,or Suga can't be bad,drugged,weak,greedy or inhumane even if some lyrics refer to him.
King Gwang-hae is the one Yoongi references in the video, but he is NOT the king from Scarlet Heart. The king from Scarlet Heart was King Gwang-jong who died 600 years earlier. And the real Gwang-jong never had a scar. He was famous for his beauty, in fact.
Suga said in the behind the scenes making of the video that the king he was playing represented “The old Agust D”.

Next...explanation video from DKDKTV. This masterpiece is Min Yoongi aka Suga aka AgustD's 2nd mixtape (1st one was released in 2016) which was released recently and for FREE on BTS SoundCloud. Suga's part of BTS, but still has the creative freedom to work in other projects like this solo one for his 2nd mixtape...all produced by him. 😭💜
In solo projects they actually produced all songs in their albums by themselves

052520. It seems like the scene where Yoongi bursts through the red curtain, and takes the car keys, shows 6 buddies and ARMY. I happened to pause the Big Hit mv at 1m 25s, to take a good look at the jade medallion, and used a magnifying glass. The woman has raised letters on her 3 visible fingernails that say "AMI", which is the way the hangul, 아미, spells Army, and the way it sounds when the members call it out.
I was deeply impressed when I once read, that, when BH was going bankrupt, and BTS was being blackballed from local SKorean media, it was BH and ARMY who went global on the internet, and got them international attention and fame.
No wonder they are so attentive to their relationship with ARMY.
So, you could say that ARMY had the keys to their success and helped transport/drive them forward.

It makes me happy you like the song and the MV. Suga made the song, and the MV almost everything was his idea. And funny thing about your last comment where you said, when I grow up I wanna be that. Suga actually always wanted to film in Korean historical set since forever and this song is the perfect song for it. He want to do whatever it takes to get this set. There's a theory going round army twitter, that the king is meant to represent the corrupt music industry (specifically the three big agencies in korea that tried to stop bts from performing) and black-haired agust d is a representation of BTS rising against the odds and becoming even more powerful than the king by staying true to their values.

Fun Fact: BTS is originally a hip hop group. Suga and RM were famous underground rapper. But then BTS became kpop group with 3 rappers and 4 vocalist. Lots of ppl diss them when they became idol bcause rapper wearing pretty make up is disgusting. Give a listen to each BTS rapline mixtape or verse in BTS songs if you have a chance. they each have their own signature flow and style but really compliment each other.
Other fun fact, Suga applied for producer job at Bighit but then he was asked to audition as rapper. He and RM are the producer and lyricist of the group since the beginning. Suga also produced other singer outside Bighit and he even got an award as producer. His recent collab as producer and rapper is IU-Eight. Give a listen if you have a chance :)

I don't know much about hiphop (i'm more into rock) but rap is very versatile actually. It just depends on the quality of the artist and how open/capable they are of changing their delivery and using different combination of genres. For example, First Love by Suga, this and Outro: Her by BTS are hella different

Yoongi (SUGA in bts) was an underground rapper before being part of bts~ he's also a producer and produced his two mixtape but also a bunch of bts's songs as well
