- During the Goodwood Festival of Speed I was asked to host a 'walkaround' of the 33 Stradale with Alfa Romeos's Chief Designer, the man responsible for it's design. Alfa Romeo have let me share this video during which Alejandro shares his design secrets and inspiration for the 33 Stradale and how this influences the design of Alfa Romeos's main stream cars such as the Junior, Stelvio and Giulia.

And a small coupe called GTV with a similar front at the Junior.
I love Alfa Romeo, it is one of my favorite brands.
Currently looking for a GTV6.
But not that many to choose from here in Norway.
I do hope that some of the owners of the original Stradale gets one of these.

Now that's an Alfa Romeo! Beautiful from every angle, inside and out. Stunning and no doubt full of sole when you drive it. This colour combo is perfect in my humble opinion. Those petal wheels are just wonderful. Just a rear number plate please. Fabulous!! Did this designer have any part in the design of the centre number plated AR 'Junior' EV? Don't think so?!

Great interview Pete. Very informative. Just been to the Alfa museum this week drooling over the original 33. This latest tipo is just stunning, and Alejandro very modest and eloquent in his description of the methodology behind the design. Great video.

The new Junior impresses me because Alfa have taken the already quite decent Stellantis Vauxhall/Peugeot platform and turned it into something exceptional.

@@PetrolPed I've used that on a few occasions...The Tonale was a shrinker for yours truly. Could be nostalgia for my GT Junior and GTV 2000.

Such as shame we'll never see the Stig tear this around the top gear track, although somehow it seems way too elegant to do something like that with it.
In terms of the Junior , I actually think it takes more design cues from the Giulia SW Zagato, what with having the kamm tail and the larger biscione on the grill

It is without doubt the most beautiful car designed in the modern era. Watching all the hypercars and supercars go up the hill left me cold as they all look the same or bizzarly stupid. Only the Italians know true style. I give you the Lamborghini Miura and now the Alfa Typo 33.

That is the loveliest Alfa since the 8C Competizione! I agree that Alfa need to grab as MUCH inspiration from this machine as they can for the rest of their lineup. Hopefully, it will help them to sell enough SUVs/CUVs to subsidise some more sports cars.

Beautiful car. Why can’t Alfa make road cars with passion again.
They do, the Stelvio and Giulia are amazing, best Alfas ever. The sad thing is now is that they are committing suicide because they are going all electric so , its the end. Look at the EV sales, its suicide, so sad
I think Alfa is back and kicking goals again.

Peter you didn’t ask specific but with all the personalisation options I presume there will be an exhaust tip delete for the diffuser on the electric option 33 Stradale otherwise it would look super fake? I also hope that an all new electric Alfa Spyder is on the drawing board. Did he allude to anything of that sort?
I am sure the BEV 33 will not have tips and we did speak about a Spider off camera. He’d love to do one 👍

It is a beautiful car, no doubt about it, but it definitely has to join the queue for most beautiful in the world. I mean, if I say Ferrari 250GTO and E-Type Jag in the same sentence, my eyeballs start to vibrate and my tongue hits the floor! And I know that you know what I mean Pedro!

Actually, it would be interesting to ask Alejandro if he would ever design a car to simply look beautiful, without including all the "actual" aero stuff. Because I don't really like the front spoiler. Because lets face it, even in Italy, the speed limit is only 80mph.

Having seen it in the flesh, its very nice from the rear, ok from the front. Unfortunately without any badges, it could be od any manufacturer. There are prettier new cars (ps, beauty is in the eye.......)

That is far from the most beautiful car in the world! The headlights are hideous and the rear end is awful!
What an overexpensive nonsense, a toy for the super rich with evening clothes over a Maserati MC20, that is not close to the original 1960s design perfection designed completely in ITalian design philosophy by Italians, very far removed from what Alfisti were able to buy recently or what future Alfisti are likely to get, electric SUVS with the Junior having a French PSA platform and powertrain in the 1.2 , no thanks! Also quite a traiterous decision to hand Maserati the Georgio platform and allow Maserati to develop what should have been the Alfa Romeo 6C flagship which has become the MC20 and which is the base for the new 33 stradale, because Maserati are able to charge a higher sticker price for their cars, and the 6C would have been a much cheaper and more volume car.
Pete stop adding an accent when you say Alfa Romeo...... or anything Italian ....reminds me of Allo Allo 😂
