- Paul Waller investigates the brand new & 1st ever synth from Baby Audio. Modelled on a very cheap, disposable Yamaha synth from the early 80s. Paul asks the question 'is this model of it cheap? is it disposable? is it worth buying?' A quick look at the plugin reveals all & Paul presents his conclusion.
Check out Paul's regular shows audiosnobs, Sound Advice & The Breakdown for some detailed expert analysis of audio production methods/techniques & technical breakdowns of classic albums with his fellow audiosnobs on this channel too.

Yo Pauly, you've made me feel like not writing the novel tonight and doing some music instead. I love playing around with a decent plugin , big luv x
Lol don’t worry it’s not exactly earth shattering dude
Hello Paul, long time no speak. I remember you when you had nothing lol. (Golds Record Shop, Leytonstone 1980s) DJ Dave
Looks cool, sounds fab, nice review, baby... 😘
Thanx baby 🤣
If Softube's Model 82 is worth $99 or Tal's 101 and GForce's SEM monosynths are worth $60, I think this thing will be worth $99 to plenty of people. I can certainly see myself using it all the time because it has a big, dirty sound and is an absolute doddle to program. I can dial up something in a minute in BA-1 that might take me 20 minutes to do as well in something like ANA-2. Obviously I am not going to sell ANA-2 to buy it but the fact I already have ANA-2 doesn't negate BA-1's value to me.
yea i agree wouldn't pay 100 maybe 18/22 does have nice tone, but are we really expecting that little from vsts these days?
My thoughts in a nutshell dude 🧐
@@audiosnobs lol
Yess, indeed worth it! ...much better than the bogus main brands!
@jari koskenniska cool - enjoy!
Where can I get Serum for $150? It's $189 everywhere and, I'm sorry, I don't see the value in it. OTOH, I'd happily pay $99 for this, given it's ease-of-use and the sound quality it offers. It definitely gets about 100 times more use from me than Pigments.
fortunately the app is much cheaper, the app is the same as the vst , right?
Doing a search the original UK price was £189 back in 1983.
@Mark OK that's interesting, still very cheap for a synthesizer back then of course.
@@audiosnobs That’s about £ 630 in today’s money.
@@generalgrafx Synths pretty much all cost 1000's in those days dude 🤑
@@audiosnobs Okay, bro.
They have sponsored so many channels it is hard to find an honest review.
It seems very likely @Martin Arceneaux. Lots of arse licking reviews around but hey, we DO all love them. I say some very complimentary things about them but it should be obvious that I haven't been paid or approached by them.
That’s with a lot of (crappy) products these days. I now keep on searching until I find a negative review.
30 bucks reg, 15 on sale. that‘s it‘s realistic price segment. But 50? Cherry Audio‘s GX-80 is 59,- still … 🤨
@breitband Agreed. FabFilter Twin 3 is way way better than this - retails for $110 & not worth it + TAL Bassline is $60 & way better than this.
@@audiosnobs totally agree
@@audiosnobs Update: What should I say … I hate myself … loaded the demo … why, just why cant I keep away from god damn demos … next thing I remember is me buying that cute little sucker … 😉
So yes, Baby, they got me. At least the BA collection is complete again …
Serious talk: Hell of a fun. I have to admit ;)
If you get assimilated too, remember there's a subscriber extra discount code: BAFAM10 for an additional 10% off
@@breitbanddesign You remind me of myself in such a situation - itchy trigger finger lol. but hey! It certainly IS fun though! 🙃
@@audiosnobs When GAS hits hard, you gotta do what you gotta do … ;) But in fact I was honestly surprised of how fun it is. And as a designer, the great BA-work in terms of UI/UX alone is worth a shout out. So yeah with the subscriber deal its 43€. Based on the hypothesis, that it will take quite some time until it will be available for 30 or less if ever, better let the GAS trigger now instead of in a couple of months after some drinks in a mixing brake at night for the full price LOL ;)
I'm a simple man :)
@Wolfgang de Vries Should b gr8 4 u then lol
100 ? its 50 quid
@Saren $49 is an introductory offer described on their website as 50% off 😉
@@audiosnobs yeah ok .. its still 50 quid right now not 100 lol
@@saren6538 Go grab it quick then! LOL
A spent $50 and it was a waste of money.
@Gordo Webb I'm really sorry to hear that. I can imagine the disappointment having tried it & not been impressed.
meh, got that digital sound
