- This is a realistic model of a Walschaerts' valve gear, which is a system of steam control used on many steam trains. I have already made one of these, but some people noticed some things I got wrong. So, I built this upgraded one, and made instructions for it, too!
This model has 336 pieces, including a Power Functions L motor, a AAA battery box, and a train remote and receiver!
Check out the original one here!

Thanks to @SouRwy4501Productions, @biggycheese5751, and @cooperhinkley2592 for pointing things out that I never would have found! - Zábava
Nice work always love to see people improve their builds and make it even more accurate to real life.
And if you're still interested in making valve gear you could try to make Baker valve gear it is a more complex but cooler looking system.
I was just thinking about that earlier today. I think I'll a wait a few weeks before trying that, though.
So cool! Im a big fan of trains and stuff. Cool video and make more like this
Now that’s well cool! 🎉
SO COOL
Clever😊
That looks like if you hooked a vacuum up to it it would work
It was not designed to run off a vacuum, but it is possible
@@DeltonAdamsLEGO I could modify it if I build it to run off vacuum but I'm missing the wheels
And I would need to make the valve move more
@@PiercesTrains716 if you made the stroke maybe one or two studs longer, same for the valve, it would work. But your need to redesign the cylinder and valve assembly to allow proper airflow. As for the wheels, if you design the engine properly, you could use smaller wheels or none at all
