Nas is the undisputed GOAT and after the last 3 years it’s just not even close anymore. Theres a gap at the top now between Nas and whoever you got at number two. 21 albums and 90% of them are good to great. Nobody can touch that catalogue and in the end it all comes down to the body of work. If you the best then you need to have the product to support your case.

I’m a huge Jay-Z fan but Nas has evolved musically and surpassed him. Real recognize real , you can still have a preference though but musically no one has evolved better than Nas . I want to see other artists at his age putting out quality music .

I know people don’t watch award shows like they used to, but I am still baffled by the idea of having a job/career meant to give feedback on the state of the culture musically, yet not watching the shows where the music is recognized. Is this not an opportunity to give constructive criticism on how the shows would be more engaging for fans, and musicians alike? We might think awards don’t matter but human beings still operate on a reward and punishment system. That’s why the meritocracy still exists. Maybe our music is losing it’s substance because the competitive nature is not really there. The academies are at fault of course, for not providing an accurate way to determine who is the best, but I don’t think not paying attention helps either. I might hate the Grammys but if I work for a radio show, best believe i’m watching or I’m gon’ be there to give the listeners the best feedback, is all I am saying.
