I first saw him in a serial ...Mahabhoj , I think. He played an IAS Officer, who incidentally belonged to SC background. That one scene where he cries bitterly, soaked in rain is still etched in my mind. I can actually visualise that scene like a Sepia toned movie flash back....and We all agreed this Guy would go places!!!!. And here He is!!!

I saw him in star tv serial Gaatha. He played the role of Sarju babu and we used to call him Sarju bhaiyya till we saw him in Balika Vadhu and Crime patrol and came to know him as Anup Soni
I guess Mr.Soni is talking about Shankar Poojary, owner of Shiv Sagar group of restaurants. He was a very good friend of my dad. As a kid I have met him and have beautiful memories of his restaurant eating Pav Bhaji and a dish that was made with baby corn and spinach I guess

And the questions asked, so good and i once again say that you let the guests really speak. Anup Ji's comedy circus episode i think I'll always remember is the one where he's an Angel dressed in white and the other guy Mantra was playing the'devil' dressed in black. It was just super
