I always thought I was the only person who doesn't really like Metal Gods. I have no idea how it became a live staple. I'm glad to know I'm not alone.

Great fun watching this! and agree to large extent on your run down. only recently discovered this vid after recently getting massively back into Priest.
Anyway...One word to describe ''Defenders of the faith' - exhilarating! The band are at their absolute peak on this beast of an album. Everything about it from Rob's incredible soaring vocals to Glen and KK's masterful duelling guitars is immense..Production, song writing, the performances all five stars. If there is a better or more perfect flowing rock/metal album to drive to - then I'm yet to hear it! I love it even more now (if possible) since they added the bonus track 'turn on your lights' This beautiful song adds an even greater depth to the album and is the perfect closer..
1 Defenders of the Faith - half the album would likely feature in my top 10 songs from Priest. The Sentinel is certainly one of them too!
    2 Sad Wings of Destiny
    3 Stained Class
4 British Steel - The Rage and Steeler and are two of the most underrated songs. The bludgeoning riff ending to Steeler is sheer metal brilliance..
5 Screaming for Vengeance - another great ballad in 'Prisoner of your eyes' from the Turbo sessions added to compliment this album superbly
    6 Sin after Sin
7 Rocka Rolla - The more I understand the journey of Priest through the years, the more I look back on this album and love it.
8 Turbo - love the fact they didn't play it safe by repeating the formula from Screaming/Defenders

Wel well well Nostradamus as a concept album is pretty hard to rank. I definitely do understand people do not like it. Back in 2008 was JP fanbase not prepared for deep philosophical album like this one. Too many people got used to simple radiofriendly undemanding songs with poor lyrics, but Nostradamus on the other side is completely different and that is why I love it so much. Yeah it was obvious guys had no experience with making of a conceptual albums, but I totally dig, what they did here. Usual flaws like too slow and weak guitar, nearly no faster songs (with the exception of Persecution and eponymous one), poor production that makes everything look really bad, but that songs are so great. Alone - a nostalgic rebellious anthem criticizing our society, Death - a doomy massacrious opus magnum that probably could have been speeded up and Exiled - super chorus nothing to criticize

I love the variety that a Judas Priest ranking can have. Personally, Screaming For Vengeance and Painkiller are my two favorite albums, but with their discography, they've got one of the best greatest hits compilation ever.
Definitely gonna have to disagree with you on Turbo. Those 80s synth drums drive me up the damn wall, which is also why Defenders of the Faith is middling for me.

That's right, that's why I love this band they can sound too heavy or too poppy. Top rocker or too doomy. Too fast or too slow.
Thats is why I like their unpopular albums too" like Turbo, Point of Entry, Nostradamus and Demolition. greetings from Greece :) nice video :) it's kinda difficult to rank the albums of this band...but I will say that, for me at least, Nostradamus, Demolition, Turbo and Point Of Entry are the band's "weak" albums, or the band's "not so good" albums(I don't want to use the word "bad", Priest has NOT made "bad" albums)...my favorite Priest album is British Steel, then comes Painkiller, then comes Defenders Of The Faith, then comes Screaming For Vengeance and then, Stained Class...I also liked all the other albums that I didn't mention, but not as much as I liked the ones I mentioned...and of course I didn't like Nostradamus, Demolition, Turbo and Point Of Entry...the "not so good" albums(actually I come to think that "not so good" is better than "weak")...

I dig Rocka Rolla quite a bit, I think the production of it isn't as heavy as some of their later 70's albums but the songwriting is there even if it's no stained class I still hold it somewhere in the middle. Sin After Sin is a bit low, starbreaker and dissident aggressor are top 10 Priest tracks in my book. Killing Machine is also awesome, not top 5 but pretty close. I agree British Steel is a bit overrated, it's too commercial sounding at times. Turbo is of course no way near Sin After Sin in my book, Angel of Retribution is good but not amongst their best, I wouldn't put anything post Painkiller on the top half. ;) I subscribed btw and I also create metal videos if you didn't know. ;) Cheers!
