Making around 70 great covers of real songs including all instruments and diferents voices is a very big achivement. You guys did a great job with that game.
Giuseppe Lorrai i also started to love music because of this game, but i became in a guitar player instead a drummer. Really good memories of those times...
1:10 This one was the best at covering Ozzy's voice. 3:19 This guy is a badass bass player. 3:57 Song was originally recorded using a double bass kit...
I just love how much fun they had making this game and how dedicated they were to making their covers sound as close to the original as possible. This is why my childhood was awesome. Thank you guys. ❤
Right?? If it weren't for guitar hero 2, I would never have become so obsessed with guitars. This game made my childhood and I have so much appreciation for the game. I'm into my twenties now and have fulfilled my childhood dreams of playing on stage and stuff over the years and it feels unbelievable really. I love this game so much.

2:22 Literally the only reason i SEARCHED for this video. My favorite song on that game. And it took me 15 years to realize that I only love it so much because the cover singer's voice is literally amazing. I love this version even more than the original. It's what made me fall in love with this song and ultimately rock and metal over the years. And this is coming from a complete 90s Hip-Hop head.
I was beyond shook when I watched this video in the game because I thought they were the actual songs, or the actual artists that came and rerecorded the audio
ikr? It blew my 12 year old mind to find out it was actually a very small group of people (in comparison to the size of their project) that recorded everything. A small and very talented group of people.
Some songs were originals, but most were covers (at least in later games). It wasn't until Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock where there were original songs rather than the whole soundtrack being covers. With the original Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II, the entire playlist are covers.
Wavegroup merecia muito mais reconhecimento, covers excelentes e alguns até melhores que as músicas originais. Ótimos profissionais, uma pena que tudo foi pro saco.
If I can play Malmsteen on real guitar today it's because of these guys. I didn't even know what rock was until I played Guitar Hero II in a friends house. I felt amazing. Their work is awesome. Most cases I still prefer these GH covers to the master records. The guitar lines in Mother, Message In A Bottle, Woman, Free Bird, Hangar 18, etc are perfect.
it’s sad to see something that started with so much ambition and genuine love for music get turned into the shitshow cash grab that GH ended on. GH3 still the beat guitar hero tho (;__;)7
To be fair, Warriors of Rock is a really great game. You can tell they put a lot of work into it by the presentation alone. They got 2112 by Rush and an original track written by Megadeth specifically for that game, for goodness sake!
I’ve seen many people get mad at the fact that the gh1 and 2 setlists we’re covers. That’s the point of the game, you play as a guitarist in a cover band. They made the covers because it’s more genuine for a cover band in a game to play actual song covers.
They did covers because licensing is expensive. You jokers will make up any delusional explanation just to feel better. The covers are great so it doesn’t matter.
@@the_evil_bread6317 i mean the cover band thing is true, but I think it's just a front for the licensing issues of master recordings. it's not delusional, just misguided.

I didn't even know/remember that song being in the game but now that I became such a huge Aerosmith fan and heard that bit here I went crazy like "THAT SONG WAS IN THE GAME??"
these guys put so much work into this and for this is the reason why i love all sorts of music really opened up my mind when i was a kid i am eternally grateful for this
I was in 9th grade and I was 14 years old but I watched it on the Xbox 360 around April of 2007 because that's when GH2 came out for the Xbox 360 so yeah I never played the PS2 version at all until the PCSX2.
"As performed by"* But is true that o said... All bonuses musics are performed by the original band, and some from the Shows, like "Stop!" and "John the Fisherman", I can't remember any other now...
Kind of hilarious that they had to replicate a Foo Fighters song considering how many of them ended up in the Rock Band catalogue. Still amazed by these incredible musicians recreating all this prior to the masters becoming available, fucking awesome times.
I always thought that it was because they couldn't get permission to use the original tracks on the game.. They only managed to get a few original recordings
this is definitely one of the coolest jobs you can get. P.S. "Beautiful, Scott!" "man, we have to get you, like, you know, shake endorsements after this." XD
@TUSMROX This was the standard practice for music games in the industry - everything from Donkey Konga to Karaoke Revolution used covers, and many of them were by WaveGroup. Nobody thought the Guitar Hero games would take off like they did, and that it would be beneficial (or profitable) to license master recordings. I think somebody at some record label realised what a marketing boost the GH games were giving their artists... :)
tunico191 I would rather have either a GCB95 (which I do) or especially the JC95 which I really want. I used to own a DigiTech wah pedal (forget which) and the button was in the heel which was annoying and I thought it sounded like shit.

I don't understand how I'm allowed to watch this video for free I thought you had to pay $350 in the Guitar Shop

This is so cool! I absolutely love Guitar Hero
miss when guitar hero i and ii had covers. I love the originals, but i loved hearing all the covers and how accurate they were able to get them

Daryll Anders
the guy at 1:12 he sounds like jack black

Wow 13 years I miss it
Back when game devs were allowed to have fun doing what they loved
Minha infância resumida em um vídeo 👐☄
Wow that bass player was killer
Kind of hilarious that they had to replicate a Foo Fighters song considering how many of them ended up in the Rock Band catalogue. Still amazed by these incredible musicians recreating all this prior to the masters becoming available, fucking awesome times.

That Darryl Anders bass solo on Last Child does indeed go hard 🔥
