These are scenes from the first day of our visit to Lake Toya, Hokkaido, two weekends ago. While our accommodation was within the charming town of Toyako Onsen, we also desired to view the broader sights of Toya-Usu UNESCO Global Geopark as a whole.
Part 1 of our trip sees us exploring shops in the town area and volcano remains along the Konpira-yama foot trail. Despite the light rain which accompanied us throughout our day, we had a rather fulfilling time outdoors.
