Miss Pretty yes I was surprise too. My wife kept telling me engagement. Then once all the preparation was done and the tradition started, I turned around and told her that this is a marriage, basically Ghanaian wedding 😂😂. It’s a lot into it than engagement. Thank you for watching.

This is so beautiful! I had the opportunity to witness a Ghanaian wedding in August 2019. I was on a missions trip to Ghana. We were in the Ashanti Region of Ejura. It was my second missions trip to Ghana. I absolutely ❤❤❤❤❤❤ it.
Wow! You got to see it in Ghana! We had ours in the States. What kind of work do you all do on the mission trip?
@@ChristianAndAnastasia we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the villages. Plus we do medical missions in the villages as well. We do 2 medical missions while we are there. This year we visited Alekeye-Kope by 🛶 and served close to 200. In the village of Kantankani we served 500 plus. From sunrise to sunset, we rode on what we call the bone crusher 😆. A big tracker to get into the areas we travel. It's called the bone crusher because the ride is very tight and bumpy. By the time you get off your bones surely feel it 😁.
This year we also had a womens seminar. Which truly blessed my soul. The women asked if we could possibly come twice a year instead of once. What a bond of sweet fellowship we had. I love their spirit, lovely people. I always feel like I'm at home. I don't what it is but there is such a connection. My family is from the Caribbean. I grew up there until moving to Germany, which I also attended school. Then back to the islands and now living in the U.S. But I love 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭.

Beautiful couple. I loved watching you two. What we call engagement is actually the traditional marriage ceremony but of course these days people don't see you to be fully married until you have a church wedding. We had our "engagement" two weeks before the church wedding. I remember being on the phone with someone and saying I'm at my husbands and she was like "herr I will tell your pastor" My response was "you mean you'll tell my dad...because he's my pastor... and he drove me to the bus and sent me off with his blessings to go to my husband. 😀😀

We were going to have the traditional engagement and the wedding closer to one another but it just worked out best to separate them, especially by location...but it was more expensive. We couldnt move in with one another, though, until the western wedding since her dad wasnt the pastor 🤣🤣
@@ChristianAndAnastasia I am! But my dad actually became a minister when I was in my 1st year of college. My parents were (we lost my dad almost a year ago) devout christains and I believe nothing much would have changed in our upbringing had he been a minister when we were born. Once he became a minister, we obviously had do extra ro live up to what it means to be "pastor's kids"
@@ChristianAndAnastasia so we also had to have a ling distance relatiinship for two years. I was here and my husband was back home before our marriage. I was foing to be in Ghana for 3 months. Trust me , my dad was at the airport with him to pick me up🙈🙈🙈. Then we stayed in his house overnight, and next morning he (dad) too me home😂😂😂. So yes, after the engagement I needed to go be with my husband😍😍.

Jones, yes because a great percentage of Africans ( again not all) don’t never come on time for celebrations, and that’s no matter the country in Africa they’re from, for instance if the party starts at 3pm it’s better to tell them 1pm they will be 2 to 3 hours late and they will arrive around 3pm just in time and to others you tell them the exact time because they actually respect time.
I feel the loss of your beautiful daughter has hurt you kso much that you had lost focus .this is understandable but keep holding and trusting in our God. God is watching over your daughter and will send another sibling. Keep loving and supporting one another. Luv to you both!!!
