Fun fact , Uncle got the name one shot kid , from the ladies at the saloon.
@@merrylakay8310 uh.... I think some guy named Micah said so. Yeah, that's it. 😉
One Pump Chump, but the ladies couldn't handle more than one pump of lumbago.
It's the only reason you can come up with when Unlce calls himself that the first time you visit Valentine. And according to Arthur's reply, I think he was thinking the same 😂
Red dead revolver and red dead redemption were confirmed to be seperate universes, but in my opinion uncle is redemption's counterpart to revolver's Red Harlow.
actually they have been confirmed as in the same, therez a refference in rdr2
You can find an NPC in rdr2 that talks about red Harlow. They’re the same univers

@@cyber1ifeconnor The director of all 3 games said that they are in different universes, no room for discussion

Uncle is love. Uncle is life. The lumbago is a curse set upon him by Dutch to stop him from staging a mutiny.
Uncle spread his lumbago to Arthur and then he died to lumbago as well 😔 this wasn’t part of the plan
I always saw the adventures of red Harlow as a campfire story. The actual events that happened have been changed drastically with the word of mouth(like the telephone game). I think uncle was “red harlow” but the actual events are very different from the campfire stories.
Im pretty sure in red revolver they literally say its a campfire story
@@Jacobtheunwiseno, they say the story of red Harlow in read dead redemption in a campfire

Red is the legend, uncle is the man.
Perfect example of the fish getting bigger and bigger each time the tale is told.
Red Harlow's face is scared. Uncle's is not. I don't think Red would go lazy like Uncle has.
If u look at red harlows scar’s they are exactly the same as uncle in rdr1 but not 2.
Are we just gonna forget that Harlow has scars all over his face and uncle doesn't?
There you go, thinking logically, noticing the most important details 😉
@@spacegoose6358 scars don't heal. What are you talking about? Also he shouldn't have a full beard because of how big those scars are and there is a scar on Harlow's nose and uncle doesn't have one on his
How I like to imagine it is back in Uncle's "one shot kid" days he was "Red Harlow" but people would start to greatly exaggerate his story adding in all the magical elements, and even adjusting the date/time when Uncle had done all of that to a later time even though Uncle had long abandoned those days, and some how ended up in Dutch's gang.
red is actually 19/20 at the time red dead revolver takes place. he would be 29 by the start of red dead redemption 2 . Uncle got grey hair and is clearly old. He is in his 50s
Uncle says he was born sometime between "1849 and the fall of Rome." If uncle was born in the mid 1840s, he would be in his early 20s just at the end of the civil war, when the true "wild" west Era began. That would make him in his late 50s in RDR2, and late 60s in RDR1. It just barely works if you assume that Red dead Revolver as we know it is a campfire story, and some dates don't line up completely.
I think Uncle was just a Big Fan of red Harlow and decided to call himself the one shot kid
@@noriakipolpo8653 Revolver takes place in the 1880's and is only around 20 at the time, and during RDR2 would be around his 30's. Uncle is at least 50 as he said he was born between the fall of 1849 and the fall of Rome.
@@dohvahkene4473 bro who said to you that red harlow was 20 in the game ?
@@noriakipolpo8653 According to the Red Dead Wiki and what's shown and said in the game itself, he is in his 20's during the game. His model for Redemption backs this up as he is easily under the age of 30. Now let's focus on the fact that even if he was 30, that's still a 20 year gap to Uncle.
The way Uncle's demeanor completely changes in the final mission of Red Dead 1 as the bad guys ride in all but confirms it for me personally.
Yeah he can shoot just as well as the rest of the gang. He also is pretty ballsy in camp interactions, and is never really scared of Micah or Dutch at any point
That would be a pretty shitty end to Harlow's story to end up as Uncle
red is actually 19/20 he would be 29 by the start of red dead redemption 2 . Uncle got grey hair and is clearly old. He’s in his 50s
I mean, but uncle fighting for the last bit of family he has is an amazing way of resolving a character.
Is it tho? I mean it fits rockstar’s MO with writing social commentary. Former hero turned old washed up gunslinger with nothing but memories of the glory days. Then ending his story by saving a family in a standoff with the government.
Yeah idk why people would want to imagine he grew to be an old lazy man who just leaches off the work of the people around him lol
He's probably not, but Its better to pretend that he is. That theory is way too cool not to be true.
@International1066 yes it does, you cant find one piece of definitive proof that uncle isn’t red if you take all the given details into account. but you can make a solid argument for uncle being red from whats in the games. the most obvious definitive proof is the backstory, because why would the writers at rockstar decide to specifically give uncle the exact same origin as the protagonist of their first game, knowing that a popular fan theory from rdr1 was uncle is red. and it’s clearly cannon and not something they added to fuck with people because uncle makes references to reds childhood in rdr1 as well, it’s not a coincidence because someone had to write it and cross reference it and have it proof read. so its fact.
@Evan T Rockstar said them selves that uncle is not red Harlow. Also Rockstar said that revolver and redemption are in 2 separate universe not to mention the ages don't match up

"Tell the devil Red Harlow sent you." -Uncle
Uncle lost his parents at 9, Red Harlow lost his parents at 14 if I'm not mistaken.
I doubt he's the same person. Red has distinctive scars on his face were his facial hair won't grow; similar to how hair doesn't grow on Arthur's chin where he has his own scarring. Not to mention that red is half native American. Uncle doesn't look native at all.
@@spacegoose6358 He cant rdr2 takes place 1899 red dead revolver takes place in 1880s
Here is my personal theory:
Rockstar themselves said that “Red dead revolver takes place in a different universe.” *BUT* Red dead revolver is told from the perspective of the sheriff, meaning that certain events could be over exaggeration or legend.
For example, the over the top death of red Harlow‘s parents murderer. Maybe his arm didn’t come clean off, maybe he just got shot and died. This is most likely the sheriff over exaggerating events.
So while the events in the game are legend, and most of it likely didn’t happen. Uncle probably was Red Harlow, and the events probably got mixed between real life and fiction thanks to the sheriff.
So in conclusion
Uncle was Red Harlow.
But most of red dead revolver was just fantasy/legend.
Maybe they say the games take place in different universes because the universe is actually within the sheriff's mind since it's his version of events? And that sheriff exists in the RDR universe, so technically the games take place in different universes but the stories are in the same universe.
He’s got that Lumbago, that’s for sure.
rock* already said that they are separate universes. however, that doesn’t mean they don’t have references to revolver in both rdr1 and rdr2. i think uncle being based around red harlow is a bit of a stretch tho. unless lumbago is just that much of a slow and painful death lol
In real world they can't be the same person because franchise is owned by different companies, but They dance around uncle being Red and I love it, it gives uncle more depth because it's just blown out of proportion tales of uncles youth. That's pretty on par when it comes to uncle lmao
@@user-op7cy6th7f it was originally made by Capcom. Rockstar then bought a studio and revived the project after a head left the project in 2003.
That is completely false. Where did you get the idea of Rockstar tricking people into thinking he is Red Harlow?

I don’t know if uncle is red or not, but I love the idea of him being a secret badass when he is younger
This video makes me think he is, and even if its not canon, its funnier this way aswell.
However wheres the special revolver and scars?
Only if it wasn’t for the lumbago
I always thought they looked similar too, that coupled with the fact his nickname was the "one shot kid" no doubt in my mind.
Red Harlow and one shot kid are to completely different people in the rdr universe bro
I like the idea of Dutch and Hosea meeting a wandering gunslinger with a deadly aim, offered him a job and the three of them worked together for some time. As time went on, civilization began to settle in, and the gang, now fully formed, was focusing less on robberies and more on survival and Red's skills had waned a bit with age. Hosea and Dutch couldn't just leave him behind, and so he remained as more of a elderly mentor figure in the gang and the others began addressing him as "Uncle".
Red harlow was in his 20s in Red dead revolver which was set around the 1880s which makes him around marstons age during rdr2 or most likely Arthur's age 🤔
Red dead revolver is set inside the folk lore of the red dead redemption series so it could be possible that red is uncle. I mean stories gotta start somehow. And with a lot of folk lore stories details change names years ect.
Short answer. No
No he’s not
@@R2spammer2009 nope I’ll explain why he isn’t if you want. Rockstar confirmed that Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption are in separate universes
Harlow sure got happier after he got revenge
Uncle said he was born in Ohio so that means red dead revolver might take place in Ohio 💀
Also people forget that red dead revolver was told from the sheriffs standpoint so it was probably exaggerated so uncle could technically still be red
If you hear uncle you can see that he says he was 9 when he lost his parents, and red looks about 15 or 16 when he loses his parents.
Exactly, also uncle moved away while Red stayed in his home for revenge.
This is a great song to listen to while playing Red Dead Redemption 2!!
i like the idea cause everyone shits on uncle but he's actually a legend. that's like shitting on an elderly naruto😂
His secret is that the lumbago made his deadeye the strongest
When it came down to it uncle was good with a gun. Man was easily in his 70s and held of the army with nothing but a rifle.
To me Uncle will always be Red Harlow. I love imagining badass gunfighter turning into a crotchety old man with LuMbAgO
Everyone gangster until Uncle shows up without Lumbago
Red has a scorpion engraving burned on his arm from his dads revolver, he has it hidden away because it's like being branded like live stock.
Most of us know rdr (revolver) and rdr2 are in different universes but i think its prwtty cool that rockstar still remembered their old games
If uncle was truly red I’m sure he wouldn’t be joking around as much after the events of Red Dead Revolver
Uncle is lacking the very prominent scars that Harlow has on his face
Dude if red dead 3s main character was uncle coming out as red Harlow that would be so sick. His final stand, him and John
Red Harlow was born in the 1860s which places him around Arthur's age, while Uncle is much older. Also Red Harlow is just a campfire tale in the redemption universe
Check the dates between red dead 2 and red Harlow and that should be a pretty clear giveaway that could give merit to the story
red is actually 19/20 at the time red dead revolver takes place. he would be 29 by the start of red dead redemption 2 . Uncle got grey hair and is clearly old. He is in his 50s the ages don’t match at all.they don’t even look alike
Little did Red Harlow knew, his greatest enemy would be lumbago
The lumbago even nerfed his scars like daym lumbago be hitting hard
Uncle might not be Red Harlow, but I just like the idea about comic relief character secretly being badass gunslinger.
Let’s be real who would want to play a prequel story to red dead 2 as a young uncle 😂
That would be the most funny/epic thing ever
I personally think that Uncle is Red Harlow and the actual Red Harlow story is just a bit of an exaggerated version of uncle’s shenanigans
Uncle is a balding Caucasian man while Red Harlow is a Native American, pure Native Americans don't bald and the fact that Red Harlow's dad doesn't have male pattern baldness and his mom is Native American shows that he wouldn't go bald like Uncle.
Issue is Dan Houser himself stated Red Harlow is in his own universe, meaning Uncle isn’t him.
Indeed, our man Red is often mentioned amongst RDR2, however they’re indefinitely Easter egg references to their prior IP’s. Not exactly an uncommon occurrence for game studios to implement Easter eggs of upcoming IP’s and prior IP’s.
Not entirely sure why folks are stating it’s still possible for him to be in the universe when Dan himself specifically stated he isn’t. I insist them people to read who Dan Houser is/was, lol.
We’re not talking about some minor developer of the game. He was the co-founder of rockstar games. And if I recall correctly, he was also the Vice President. If he himself stated Red Harlow is in his own universe, then perhaps just accept it
It's all fun and games until red Harlow gets diagnosed with lumbago
the red cloth is like the cowboy's red cloth in tombstone
Rockstar has said red dead revolver exists in a separate continuity and Red exists as little more than an urban legend in redemptions universe I believe
Uncle turning out to be red Harlow would be soo cool
For me he is the real one shot kid
I thought this at first too but then there's no facial scars facial scars that big on red Harlow would definitely not just go away with old age
Red Harlow in Revolver is just the sensationalized version of the real Red Harlow in Redemption: Uncle
“He has a revolver. He wore a red shirt one time. And his hands are dirty.”
Hell, that’s enough for me
I just like that uncle is the one that started the conspiracy 🤣
Imagine if one of the developers just slipped that line in there to fuck with us.
I just imagine some RockStar lead being like "alright guys, now look what you've done."
@@afterstew1046 The "One-shot kid" line was completely taken out of context by the fans. The community basically made this a fanfiction, not a theory.
We either die as Arthur, or live long enough for us to become uncle
Imagine Red Harlow teaching young Dutch,Hosea and Arthur about gunslinging and acted as a caretaker and help them form their gang, then leaves them and a while later he comes back as "Uncle"
I feel like he's not red Harlow only because of the timeline. Uncle looks like that in 1899, and red dead revolver takes place in the 1880s. That doesn't mean he's not him, but that would mean that uncle ages like cheese
Devs really should've gone full hog with the idea that Uncle is Red. Like having that wrap always around his hand, or slightly more references in random conversations.
Maybe uncle was the inspiration behind the story of red Harlow when uncle was an actual gunslinger instead of an outlaw
I think that Uncle having no burn marks makes more sense because severe third-degree burns can take at most a few years to heal completely, if he had his burn mark when he was a child then it's unlikely he'll have it when he's already an old man by RDR2
Timeline doesn’t match up but he’s a Legendary man with lumbago.
Red Harlow is the charecter jack made that's an amalgamation of John, himself, Arthur and other gang members. It's the book we see in Lester's office.
He is in my eyes idc if it cannon or not also twin rocks in all three games is no coincidence
Uncle is either Red or he rode with Red when he was younger. We need RDR3 to be about Uncle in like 1870.
I believe he is. Rockstar never does anything by accident, all those hints are for sure to entertain the idea.
would've been funny if they made it cannon and he's the last gunslinger that you need to kill or disarm to get their gun, but with uncle you gotta do it without deadeye, that's a must
Uncle doesn't have scars in his face
But , red as like five distinct scars on his face
I think uncle is just a walking reference to red harlow
Can we all drop this we've been dragging this uncle/red shiz since 2018 like damn
Even the shotguns match each others
He could’ve been the unknown brother of the two who ultimately chose a different path. It’s kinda hard to justify
Wasnt Revolver seen as a legend/folk story within Redemption as its played as a story and the reason why all the details wont match is because its not Harlow telling the story but its rather someone in that game rettelling it as a story within redemption
Rockstar just make it cannon 😂
red Harlow its just a tale in the redemption universe. you can hear his story by a random encounter with npc who invites you to sit by the fire with he
Red was in his early teens when he lost his parents. Its also been confirmed by Rockstar that Red does not exist in the Redemption universe
Uncle's parents died years apart from when red parents died, he doesn't have a huge burn mark on his hand, he doesn't have any of the scars red has on his face, he has a completely different facial structure, it's been confirmed that revolver and redemption are separate universes
scars on his face. no scars on uncles face
I brought this up before.
But sense the game Red Dead Revolver is so quite out there and kinda wacky, it is possible that Uncle is Red, but his legend is exaggerated/embellished, and Uncle is how Red became as a old man.
He shit at the wall in front of him in that first shot
my man shot a double barrel shotgun with one hand on a horse made it look like it had no recoil
Don't matter if its canon or not. Uncle will always be red in my eyes
