- A 12-hour loop based on the scene from the film Contact (1997) where Ellie (played by Jodie Foster) travels through a wormhole and then finds herself on a tropical beach scene.
I tried to match the style of the film and then also added some other elements like the nebula and storm clouds for a bit of visual interest. Mixed with some ambient ocean & gentle crashing waves sounds. Play it in the background while you study, relax, sleep or meditate. I hope you enjoy it!

To this day that scene has stuck with me. I have repeated that sentence many times in my life whenever somebody asked me whether I believe there’s other life out in the universe.

Contact is a brilliant movie. I was blown away when I first watched it.
Me too, I can't describe the exact feeling I got watching it for for the first time except to say it was quite surreal and in a good way.

I have seen this beach, ocean and night sky many times in my dreams. We may have seen the same thing. Thank you for making this video. Now I can enjoy.
I just love how bright the water is, its glimmering and glowing.. makes it look like you could go for a swim at night like this and still see. Plus the light from the stars and nebula really brighten up the evening! And i think its good theres no music playing, hearing just the waves or environment really helps you imagine yourself there, atleast for me anyway.
This scene was life changing for me, and you've brought it back to life in a new way. Great work as always. 🙏🏾

@@EonSound I watched the movie on a psychedelic. This ending sequence of Contact is so beautiful from start to finish and I think is one of the best at showing just how "insignificant" we are in terms of the universe but that as individuals we are still capable of a lot. I look at space in an entirely new way and it makes me hopeful for the future.

Ah These are like one of those unexplained calm dreams. The scene might look unreal but it's calming and we don't care about it much while we are dreaming.

This movie change my perspective on life even as kid. I have also read the book which is amazing. The opening scene and the beach scene are still to this day still some of my favorite out of all the science, and sci-fi movies I’ve ever watched.
If you could make a video with the sky the way it looked for her after she landed on the beach, I would be more grateful then any work could express.
For anyone who love the movie I would highly suggest reading the book. The movie does differ from the book in places but it is still one of my favorite books/movies to this day. Carl Sagan mine was a beautiful gem.

Weren't those two scenes extraordinary? Backing away from Earth with the audio transmissions referencing distance travelled to the incredible scene of galaxies dispersed throughout the universe. And then we see this ethereal beach scene toward the end of the movie... a touching blend of longing, both personal and philosophical. Brilliant stuff. 🙂
Pensacola 🥹 Contact is my favorite movie of all time, it makes me feel cozy. I've seen it literally hundreds of times since I first saw it as a kid in theatres. Core memory vibes.
I love this but I have to point out since you obviously made it from scratch and might not know. Firstly great job, but the waves go backwards in the movie. It's deliberately made hard to tell with some overlapping waves as well, but they did it so it'd feel dream like. It's even on the DVD commentary.

People saying if it's just "us" it's a waste of space, the mistake is made distinguishing ourselves as different then all that we see. At the end of the day we're all made up of the same chemicals as those distant galaxies and stars we look at wondering if there is intelligent life. So it's not just US it's.....US the universe itself looking at itself 🤯

No, this was in Cinema 4D. You could definitely do something like it in Blender though.

It looks cool, but you definitely needed to speed up the motion graphics to sync with the audio. Audio and video are out of sync.

I think you are very talented with your animations but you always do a little too much imho. Less is more. This would be so much better without this gigantic nebula.
