Does the age of your roof matter?

My friend and past client recently received a letter from his insurance company cancelling his Homeowners Insurance Policy - Satellite images of tree limbs hanging over his roof - no warning - cancelled.
Also, if you are selling your home and your roof is more than 15 years old - this could present a problem with insurance coverage for the buyers.
