The thing I didn't understand with their special appearance on NCIS-LA, at the end of JAG Harm was a full Commander (O-5) and Mac was a Lieutenant Colonel (O-5), both were officers at the same grade. Now, Harm is a Captain (O-6), and Mac is still a Lieutenant Colonel (O-5). However, in 14 years, both should have at least been Flag Officers or retired, and possibly a politician.

After 13 years, their story continuing on "NCIS: Los Angeles" has to be one of the worst and most upsetting things I have ever seen on television. After literally watching the episode of "JAG" where Mac couldn't sleep and it was revealed that it was maybe something to do with never becoming a mother, I learned of their appearance in this show and decided to watch it. It was pretty clear that Belisarius had nothing to do with this. The set of the carrier looked like an absolute joke along with their uniforms; the acting and sets were FAR more convincing 15 and 20 years ago. Could not believe Harm was still a Captain and found it even more surprising that Mac was never made a Colonel. I also could not believe it was just the same old crap between Harm and Mac given everything. It has to be the most illigitimate and uncannonical continuation of a story I've ever seen.
They should of stayed together and married and a miracle could of happened and they had a child together!! Not frigging break them up again!! They always loved one another and clearly still do! So hurry up and put them together already!
Harm and Mac had a great chemistry, it kept this series going all the years. It's sad to know that they grew apart after the show ended.
