    Erik, I have been following your channel off and on , however when you did the “where’s the lands segment “ I was really hooked as having chambered, built, ( metal, wood, and trigger release) , and test fired thousands of rds. The factory ammo demo was the nail in the coffin. Excellent shooting with all human systems working… 🦅🙏

      @@trikelife4960ye right, they are all balanced, blueprinted with the some of the best barrels, actions triggers etc, there's no way on this earth that they are straight out of the box rifles and then put a scope on and shooting factory ammo, impossible unless there was no wind at all, it can be done, in fact i have done it at 1,200 yards, with a 25 year old 5.56 mm and my score was 48/50 at 1,200 yards even i was shocked, ( custom loads) my score with the 308 and a f class rifle was 38/50 on the same day? cheers 🦘🦘👌✌👍

      @7071t6 lol balanced? They're not engines haha. Just out of the box remington 700s with a few bolt ons. They won't hold a candle to a proper built F class rifle nor are they trying to. The whole point was to show what a few mods can do to an off the shelf rifle on a budget.

      @@trikelife4960 yep i believe it, but i was going to get into f class ftr etc, after i worked out just 2nd hand 308 remington 700 and get the barrel and action checked, balanced ie: barrel seated right action /bolt machined and barrel etc etc Plus buying a scope and no hand loads just factory ammo, its was going to cost me over 2.5K and thats if i wanted to compete with the f calls boys, to which i was asked if i wanted to buy a f class ready rifle, tikka tx 308 with scope, ( 2.7K ) but again would need to learn how to do hand loads etc etc, to work out which powder projectiles etc etc, way to much for a hobby, so i just go out and shoot their rifles when i can. 🦘🦘👌👌✌✌👍👍

    • @erich9111
      @erich9111 Před rokem

      Since it is a newer caliber, factory chamberings are usually on the shorter side to get better performance from factory ammo. As a secondary benefit, a full-length cam-over resize doesn't work the brass as much. The shoulder angle and the stiffness of your action can also help with this, but to a lesser degree than the amount of bump when you re-size.

    Towards the end Eric mentioned that these 2 rifles were greater than 1.5 moa and 3.5 moa at 100 yards but both were sub moa at 1,000 yards.
    The extreme velocity spread was consistent at muzzle and 1,000 yards.
    To me this indicates that the bullet is still wobbling at 100 yards, has not become dynamically stable from the bullet rpm due to rifling twist.
    Y'all ought to shoot at 200 yards, 300 yards and 400 yards to see where the bullet has become stable ... aka gone to sleep.

      1.5 and 3.5 MOA @ 100 was what the rifles were shooting straight off the shelf before modification. A gun is never going to be more accurate at a further distance due to bullet stability. There's no wobble at 100 yards and the accuracy cone always grows with distance.

    Like saying 1 MOA to the right or left or high is saying make a adjustment of movement on the scope or hold over 1 size of the target hi low to the right or left etc, but it also depends on what the scopes reticle is showing etc.
