This was filmed in my area, and it was truly a major shame this movie didn't do very well at the box office.

Every time i witness this masterpiece of a movie i can't stop myself from loving it more and more...
Firstly the cast is absolutely phenomenal, exceptional and unique. Gerard Butler's acting was absolutely impeccable, all the pain, anguish, joy, friendship, happiness, knowledge, seriousness, humor were just so incredibly well delivered. What an acting performance
And man..apart from Jonny Weston being a cast of perfection he gave an unforgetable performance. The athletism, skills, humor, nobility, pureness, kindness, passion, will and strenght were just delivered on marvelous level...I could feel every scene and every line..
The bond between Jay and Frosty was so well-portrayed and insanely well built-up. The movie really made you feel their sheer and pure relationship...almost dad-son like...the scene where Frosty runs towards Jay on the beach after surfing the mavericks to hug him nearly made me cry...
Apart from the astonishing acting performances of both of them and above all else the movie is just beautifully shot. The cinematoprahy is pure gem, the shots of the ocean, the crushing, haunting and fearsome waves, the shores and beaches were absolutely mesmerising.
Overally everything about the movie is purely incredible...what a masterpiece.
My favorite movie of all time. This movie inspired me so much to chase my goals.

He doesn't die surfing, he died as a result of a free diving accident - he went below the rope to meditate on the sea bed and didn't resurface. His body washed up later that night.

It actually is Iridescent. It's just the part towards the end of the song, when the tempo picks up a bit. Specifically around the 3:38 mark (in the song, not this trailer). :) It is a great song.
