    The Rufus is the best bag I have ever owned. I have owned (as well as still own) bags from Squatch (currently own the Lore), Upper Park Shift, Grip 6 bag and without question the Rufus is the best. It is just so comfortable, I can play 2 rounds in a day with it, and not even fill tired, and I just think the quality is great. The price is a lot, but since it is a lifetime warranty I think it is well worth it.

    I have had nothing but issues with squatch bags. I had the load lifters fail on my legend 3.0 and the Ykk zipper failed. Then i got a new legend 3.0 in warranty within two weeks the zipper failed on the large side pocket and they wouldn't warranty it and tried to blame me saying I forced the zipper or had something in my bag poking the zipper (which I did not on either). I had to compromise and pay a small fee to get another one. Straight selling all my squatch stuff after the 1 hour argument I had on the phone . I took the squatch bags in to a bag repair shop that had the zipper issues and they verified with me that it was poor quality stitching and not me. Sticking to my octothorpe and ordered a rufus.

    i looked at getting a pound bag but couldn't justify paying 500us for a bag. After the conversion rate 700 for a bag just didn't make any sense. Heard great things though and I love the custom-ability of them. Squatch just made more sense to me

    • @ericburgmeier1100
      @ericburgmeier1100 Před 8 měsíci +2

      basic rufus are 299-325 US, 500+ goes for the custom stuff which makes sense because it's a custom built product that will take more time to produce. Pound is worth the money to me given the quality materials and it's a made in USA product with a lifetime warranty. I'm not trying to shill or sway your opinion, I'm just saying I get why they cost what they do. I don't own one anymore because the Octothorpe is just too much bag, but the rufus looks great.
      If you're looking for a great budget bag, I went with the upper park pinch pro. similar side pockets and disc storage to the rufus for 110 us. Cheers.

      maybe if I lived in the US it would mean more to me but I don't so I have no sentimental attachment to made in the US products. I can see where they get the price tag from but like I mentioned paying close to 500 Cad for a bag seems steep. I like the concept of being able to update my bag ever few years to get updated features. Pounds a cool company and I'd love to support some of the players who use it like sexton. Just not this time. The rufus definitely looks like the idea size for the average player though! @@ericburgmeier1100

      It is the ideal size! Keep an eye on Kijiji and Facebook Marketplace as there are often bags that pop up in Canada! Are you on Facebook? Canadian Disc Golf Hub has them pop up used for a significant discount also!

    Great review! I've had mine for most of a year now and I love it. There's some small things I would change, but I really wouldn't want any other bag. Just to note on the shoulder strap occasionally coming unsnapped-- mine would do this also when I first got it, but then I tightened up the webbing a bit that connects the strap to the bag and it hasn't happened since.

    I’ve had my Rufus just about a month now and couldn’t be more happy with it. The level of comfort compared to my Grip AX5 is pretty significant and I find myself using my cart less and less. You didn’t touch on it in your video, but the fit of the Pound rainfly with full bottom of the bag coverage is also a significant improvement over the Grip bags imo. Lastly, as someone who values having something unique, being able to customize the colors to my favourite sports team was a huge plus and helped to justify the price. If you ever want to check out the deluxe version Ryan, let me know!

    • @localdiscgolf
      @localdiscgolf  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Awesome points Cole! We’ll be touching on the rainfly in our Octothorpe video, but great point. Yeah, I love my cart, but a bag is truly more versatile for various terrain/courses. Add on the fact that it’s lighter and significantly more comfortable… it’s easily the best bag I’ve used!

      @coleleduc5359 Před 8 měsíci

      I think another point to consider when it comes to price, which makes purchasing something like this easier to swallow (and obviously isn’t applicable to everyone), but if your work offers some sort of fitness allowance it typically would cover fitness equipment like DG bags. I’ve definitely been lucky enough to take advantage of that as I don’t have a gym membership that I’m using the allowance on.

    I have found that the soft bottom actually contours to the ground and is more stable than bags with a rigid bottom.

    Thanks for the review. I love the fact its US made and has a lifetime warranty. I cannot justify spending that much though. I am fairly certain that my would divorce me at that point lol.

      It’s not a bag I would have bought if it wasn’t for the channel and that decision would have been for the same reason as yours 😂 but having tried it now, I can’t go back! It’s the most comfortable bag I’ve ever worn!

      25 for me. 4 putters in the top pocket, 15 in the main pocket, and 6 in the side pocket that completely opens (with 1 of those being in the extra outboard slot that comes with the Deluxe bag).

    You are wearing the pack lower causing comfort issues. Grip packs are uncomfortable and a waste!

    In sorry but there is NOTHING about the pound bags that says 300 to 400 dollars. I remember before backpacks started getting cheaper octothorps were over 500. This brand is just taking advantage of the fact that us disc golfers are willing to spend waaaaaaaaaay to much money. Please tell me what this bag offers that a 165 dollar (while on sale) grip ax5 can't? Literally theft.... it's a fucking bag there is nothing here that should cost about 400 dollars.

    • @localdiscgolf
      @localdiscgolf  Před 8 měsíci +2

      That’s fair man! You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion. 👍 without the rigid frame of the grip bag, it is noticeably lighter. Plus the straps are much thicker/more comfortable and just noticeably better. The padding makes for a way better experience. On top of that, you’re getting a lifetime warranty. 20 years from now, this bag will be warrantied. I don’t intend to sway everyone! My experience and review is only one person’s perspective and I wouldn’t doubt you are not alone with your perspective! If you value the feature set of the Grip bag for its price, then that’s you. We’re fortunate to see the sport at a time with such a great amount of choice! I know we don’t agree, but I appreciate you coming on and sharing your opinion, many people wouldn’t speak up, so thanks.

      Price is super high. But I had to have that Cole bag. I absolutely love it!!!

    • @ericburgmeier1100
      @ericburgmeier1100 Před 8 měsíci +1

      500+ was for custom prices or octo hauls. The bag offers a US made product with a lifetime warranty. Levi isn't "taking advantage" of people. If you followed the FB page, he listens to what his customers want and then provides it. Most recently everyone on the page was asking for a custom rufus program and they made it happen. I don't own one myself, but I have had a octothorpe in the past. It was just too much bag for my needs, but they're definitely worth it in my eyes. Much more comfortable to carry than any grip bag i've ever had.
      On another note though, I think upper park makes the most comfortable bag that isn't pound. I understand not wanting to spend 300-400 on a bag, and I think upper park is the perfect option for people who want pound comfort and functionality for less.

    • @tyler_glasgow
      @tyler_glasgow Před 7 měsíci +2

      Higher quality materials. More comfortable. Lifetime warranty. Made in USA. Customizable. It's better in every way. If you want to stick to cheap, ugly, uncomfortable bags that are made in China then more power to you but don't rip on people who like nice things.
