Bryan, this is spooky. I had this on VHS as well as the Thompsons and Home Service. Must have been off work due to Thatcher's Monetarism. I booked them at the Treetops, Epping, Essex, UK in '84. It was an excellent night and we turned a good profit that night. The PA blew a fuse and ending up with fag paper glowing red.
The very best in folk music ❤
Two extremely handsome lads - RIP Swarb. I'm getting back to this lovely vid when I need some courage.
This is the moment when Simon actually found his voice, and swarb was at top form.....legend stuff! thanx for posting!
Absolutely fabulous fiddling by Mr. Dave Swarbrick.
They play so well together.Amazing
Reminds me of their Angel Delight album.
i love to watch simon and how good he looks to this day. i wish i could go to cropredy
Amazing musicians.
Beautiful phrasing and melody. Such a soothing, lonesome tune! You could write a lonesome song to it.
Heard them play at Plymouth Folk Club around 84 and bought a copy of Dave Swarbrick & Simon Nicol - Close To The Wind. Great performance, happy days.
I miss the days when alcoholism was light breezy entertainment.
I just can't imagine current mainstream TV playing two folkies singing about girls on the lash. How narrow the exposure to new things has become.
Dave oh dave alleluya allelluya contigp hasta la miseria es llevadera quedate ahora juntito a dios
I'm sure I've met the aforementioned maidens

My excuse is that I worked on shift in TV news and had a lot of weekdays off :-)
