I'm sorry but I gotta say Michael is one of the best dancers EVER
Don’t be sorry cause that’s nothing but facts 😂😂✊🏾✊🏾
@@Itzquann hahaha true !! it's just that some people might've disagreed with me 🤷🏻♀️😂
Isabel Piedra well they would be WRONG😂
Isabel Piedra 😂😂 some people would be wrong.
The best dancer ever
This was written, composed and co-produced by michael himself.he was also one of the choreographers
quincy hated it
Jack Reacts He is. ♥️ Jack, please react to Michael's IS IT SCARY; I'm sure you'd love it!
It's from the movie called moonwalker mokebpaid for it himself if you watch the movie the scene of this video would make alot more sence
@@chikotembo ayo I got something to tell you...
We don't GAF ABOUT QUINCY you know 💯🤷
Not exactly. Vincent Paterson co-choreographed Smooth Criminal.
Can you imagine living in an time where we expected videos like this... Michael had us spoiled... i personally think this is better than thriller ....
Yes I know...every Video he did was an event!! You had to see it, no matter what!!.
i lived thru that era and was a teen back then when the announcement came that MJ had a new video released. and i remember we had to wait a couple more days to actually see it on TV then. and that video WAS indeed Smooth Criminal. you gotta remember one thing. back then MJs music videos were a world wide phenomena. even the TV news broadcast would mention a new MJ video. just think about how BIG he was (still is).
This is my favorite MJ video. However, I will always consider "Thriller" to be the best because it was the FIRST video of its kind.
@@xabun Yes! It was so hard to wait those few days. We knew it was going to be magic. I loved him so much!
Agreed; this is my fav music video of all time. MJ was an unparalleled GENIUS. The choreography combines the 20's speakeasy vibe with 80's pop, the costuming is gorgeous as well, and it's just unbelievably perfect in so many ways.
Michael was one of the biggest perfectionists in the industry. Everything had to be absolutely pefect, from the dancing in the video, the backing singers, the music timings
Michael Jackson was a national treasure!!!
international*
worldwide
All human...
He still is and will always Be, even Fred Astaire thought so. This is his ode to Astaire
J Lebleu bro I’m tired of seeing the same thing without any argument or proof...
MICHAEL JACKSON IS THE REASON I DANCE ALOT
Michael and Janet are life
me too
You totally nailed it😁
You can't be serious Lol
Same here
Bro, the song, the beat, the lyrics, the drip, the moves, the choreography, the effects... truly at a loss for words.
13:26 I mean it’s Micheal Jackson...The best entertainer EVER, He worked his ASS OFF even after he became the best. That’s how u know he loved what he did & was a perfectionist.
Billie Jean live from his 35 Anniversary was crazy!! No effects, just him and the dance floor. My friend choreographed this with him. The "lean" was actually a trick with the shoes and a clip in the floor. Was actually them leaning. They did it on tour too.
@@TrevorPalmatiershow the shoes were used live but for the music video it was a wire
It makes me sooo happy to see people appriciate Michael. He was ONE OF A KIND.
Period!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hands down MJ’s best video. Iconic
And yes the creation of the shoe to do that forward bend is an Mj invention
11 years ago today, "the true King of Pop, Rock and Soul" Michael Jackson passed away. We lost the greatest entertainer of all time. Rest in peace.
💔😭💔
RIP to the Greatest Entertainer Ever Lived. His Legacy will continue
This proves that MJ was the one who originally did what they call the Dab first. At 10:31
I swear I saw dat lol
Haha for real
The smoothest dab I have ever seen!
@@JackReacts904 I saw a video on the making of this. The way he leaned like that, he had shoes made for that.
Cathy Melton That did not come out until years later. that left the public stumped and trying to figure out ho he did it, it was so much fun. I really didn’t need to know , it was more fun when I didn’t. i can’t lie, I was so curios.
Again... he just never disappoints. Not once have I listened a Michael jackson song and felt let down in a way lol and that’s something I can’t say for many artists.
The one thing that has always amazed me the most about MJ is that he is one of the few people that can make elite dancers look like amateurs in ALL of his videos. The dude was unreal. Look at some of his Jackson 5 stuff, he was always a damn thunderbolt on the stage.
Written, Composed, Choreographed by Michael Jackson
Greatest video ever.
Also MJ has done his famous lean move live many times in the 90s. No wires.
Also fun fact: Robert DeNiro was on the set to see the filming of this short film
Smooth Criminal, and Thriller are the best music videos of ALL TIME! The child prodigy... Michael Jackson..... perfectionist, dancing so great it's from another world, his stage presence, his production skills are perfection! He was and will always be the greatest entertainer in history, and I don't think we'll see anything even close to Michael ever again. That's why the world was so heart broken when he passed away, we knew what he meant to us. I was there when the Thriller video debuted on TV, I was there to watch every song/video raise him to his ultimate stardom, and label him as The Kind Of Pop. I feel very blessed to have gotten to watch these things in real time as they happened. Soundtrack to my childhood, teenage years, young adulthood, etc. I'm so glad we had him when we did. Music wouldn't be the same without him. RIP Michael, good Lord are you missed! ❤️🙏
Best. Uncomparable forever. Michael Jackson.
There are so many kids that cracked their heads on the coffee table trying to do that lean 😂😂 great reaction Jack, thank you 💕
I am extremely happy his music is still being heard after his passing 🥺He will always be the number one entertainer of all times 💯 #RIP MC🙏🙌🏽✝️
He's too smooth cause he's a smooth criminal 😎
He is not a pedophile
@@Slattier141 where did this even come from
Mike isn’t a criminal
Miles Moody well you said he was a criminal so ...
"Took the mic like James Brown..." exactly. JB was one of the artists MJ watched as a child. The part where it got dark and everyone was moaning was like people in mourning over Annie.
That man was the GREATEST entertainer I've ever seen!!! Pure genius!!! And we are all lucky to have lived to see it. RIP Michael
As far as "The Lean" routine, he has shoes that's patented so it could do the Lean. Just gave you the shortest story about it.
You’re right but he said before he created the shoes it was actually ropes used in the video.
@@shays.3104 you are correct for this video they used strings, but in order to do it live, he invented those shoes - but do know, these shoes are only there to help pin your heels down, the works is yours, you have got to have an incredible core muscles to be able to pull it off correctly without causing any damage - because in this movement, you are lowering yourself by 45 degrees and then you have to pull yourself back up again - VERY, VERY difficult and somewhat dangerous - because one wrong move and it can injure you badly
Yuli Erdreich yup that’s Michael for you. He’s a perfectionist so he was going to do it regardless. He just perfected his craft and voilà! We have another iconic move🙃
That patent and invention was all His ~ Patent number: US5255452A - I'm getting that on my ankle someday.
@@shays.3104 that is what I was about to say! The shoes came later for the concert
🥰🖤 Michael!!!!🖤🥰 he was my first love at the tender age of 6! Had the thriller jacket, shoes, socks, and famous glove that he wore in Billie Jean. Rest easy Michael. And may we be the change he always said the world needed all this time.
MJ was just the king! Was born in the early 90s but grew up listening to this songs as if they came out yesterday then I realized they were older than me! That is the type of influence MJ had and he has never came to my country but every single person knows who Michael Jackson is! Just the king! Love from Africa
I can't believe I am older that Micheal Jackson. When Smooth Criminal was released in 1988. I am 40 years old now!.. wow time fly by... in 1988 I was 8 years old when it was released..
This man and his family have master the art of dancing, nowadays it's pretty hard to find none robotic choreography R.I.P King of pop thank you!!!.
The Greatest of all time ! Period.
No 1 Best entertainer ever to walk this earth, we'll never ever see anyone who comes close to his genius!
Michaels' dancing was hugely inspired by Fred Astaire who was popular leading man in movie musicals in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, known for his elegant, effortless and smooth dancing style. The outfit he wears in this video is a direct reference to one of Freds' Movies(I believe the movie was The Band Wagon).
This is his masterpiece, fun fact he wanted to do it like a western but then he changed his mind and come with the idea of underground Chicago ambiance. In the video he and the dancers are wired but on live concerts he got patent special shoes just for that song. This video is part of his movie Moonwalker.
This for me is one of the best choreographed, danced and directed videos of all time. From the 1st time I ever saw it until today... flawless. MJ is the best!
I wasn't born when this video came out, but I can remember my older brother telling me, that when this video premiered the ENTIRE world stopped to watch it. It was a world event!
Your brother was absolutely right..it was an instant classic!!!!!!
This was apart of the moonwalker movie
@@JackReacts904 do it bro! Even if you just do the Smooth Criminal segment, it's around 40 mins but worth it!
@@JackReacts904 You have to! He turns into a transformer and everything
You need too, the effects are crazy in certain parts!!
Do it! Moonwalker is such a classic he even becomes like an autobot in the movie
Back in the day when his music videos would premier they would stop Network TV to show it during primetime all over the world. that's why his music videos were so long it was an event.
Belive me , even if he had special shoes invented by him to make the 45° lean, he still had the strength to lean down and back up (NOBADY CAN DO THAT BUT HIM🔥) .. You can see that especially in live performances of this SONG.. PLEASE REACT TO ONE LIVE 🙏
Michael got a lot if his dance inspiration from old Hollywood movies...This is the greatest music video ever made! Michael at the top of his game...no wires, specifically made shoes by MJ himself to do the lean along with his other dancers. ..my fav MJ video..so Broadway Musical worthy!!People actually tried to see if they could create a Smooth Criminal Musical starring Michael on Broadway, but he said no because he just didn't want to do the same old thing night after night in a play. Never, ever gets old..MJ FOREVER!!!!💜💜💜💜👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💐💐💐💐💐
"The Lean" is iconic. He had specific mat and shoes he wore from it. It is by far the hardest, most difficult move I've ever tried. Need all kinds of strength.
Mj - beat it
He's totally not given credit believe it or not as a dancer and singer. And his dancing is very technical and so is his singing. He doesn't just gyrate or throw himself around for no reason when dancing, there's always a purpose and a feeling to his dancing; intricacies from his feet to his hands to his head. The best. Simple.
Michael's dancing is and always will be timeless! The way he hits every move is completely flawless! He mastered his crafts in every aspect. This video is my favorite for his dance moves!!! Thanks for the great reaction!
Little kid dancing is Brandon Adams he's a actor was friends with Merlin Santana. He also was version of Michael Jackson in Bad the kid version
The other kid is Sean Lennon..John Lennon Son.
Aside from Moonwalker. I remember that kid mostly from The Sandlot! Cuz that was my movie!!!
Huh? Wasn't the other kid a girl?gonna search 🧐🕵🏾♀️
Love the facts!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aww wow Michael...there will never be another one like him EVER XD
I was born in 1981, and here I am in 2021 just floored with how hard this beat goes.
MJ is the greatest, he was a perfectionist when it comes to his professional career.
He's just to incredible.
I loved your reaction to MJ. He was perfection personified in all things musical. His body flowed like water and reflected the music. You mentioned the quality of the other dancers, thank you. MJ was a perfectionist and always worked with the very best musicians and dancers. I always thought it would be the best and the worst jobs to be a backup dancer for him. The best because if he chose you it was because you were the best and the worst because being onstage with him all eyes were glued to Michael. You couldn't take your eyes off him. And the leaning thing was an invention of his. Magnets under the stage floor and special shoes. All the dancers had them too. They carefully position themselves before leaning.
Bro...I done watched this reaction like 25 times. Its amazing seeing a young man discovering this masterpiece for the First Time!
For me as well. I lived through this in realtime but it's truly refreshing to see Jack's first reaction to this. He had a good 'ole time with this, lol. I love it!!
Michael was mostly inspired by James Brown and who can see a lot of his influence in Michael’s dance moves.
Plus Sammy Davis, Jackie Wilson and Fred Astaire.
Yes But Michael Did Make His Own Dances Sometimes And Influenced Many
Also this video was heavily inspired a by Fred Astaire movie. Michael's outfit was very much similar to Fred in that same movie. So Mike was paying homage.
Plus, the crop pants at the ankles he wore throughout his performances was also inspired by Fred Astaire. This draws the onlookers to notice the foot work even more.
One thing I like about MJ he was clearly inspired by others before him but he layed that as the foundation and build from it and created and innovated his own path.
Fred Astaire and Bob Fosse too
@@parisjacksonbaby_1014 totally agree with you when it comes to dance MJ was the the best ever dancer this world has ever seen a legend. 💕😊✌
FINALLY! you finally posted that masterpiece. This music video is beyond words, Michael's dance moves are iconic and this will be forever one of the most EPIC video ever. I share with you two quotes from michael that are very inspiring to me: "i don't sing if I don't mean it" and "thinking is the biggest mistake a dancer could make. You have to feel." Again Jack thank you so much for ALL. Thank you for making me smile every day. I can't thank you enough for that, really.
welcome to Smooth Criminal, the most iconic video of all time after Thriller, and at the peak of it all. The 'lean' is the most famous dance illusion. He patented the magnet shoes and performed it live since 1992.
9:15 There was no “string” on his back, it was revealed years later that _the lean_ trick was pulled off by having the shoes affixed to the floor, even with that it still takes some practice and skill to pull it off but that’s how they did it.
Michael Jackson, the G.O.A.T. 🙏🏽👑
MJ is the best dancer to have ever lived, my dance hero, he know nuance like no other and uses his body as another instrument in his visuals.
One thing I love about Michael is he can dance in place that leaning forward he actually done that.
I never clicked this fast on a video. I was waiting for this!😍
@@JackReacts904 i'm glad it got unblocked! I loved your reaction! 😊
This is the greatest choreography in music history after Thriller!
AGREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There would never be another like him. My only wish was that we would have appreciated him while he was here.
There was a crazy woman on the Dr.Phil show. She swore up and down that she was Annie in this song 🤣🤣🤣
That Annie is not ok..ok, Annie...🤦♀️
I remember that sh3 was cray
I just started watching and listening to his songs a few days ago and honestly can’t believe how good his music is!! 🔥💕
He’s a genius!
MJ is the king of dance. This is my favourite MJ short film ❤🎶
Fun Fact: he has a movie based off this song called “Moonwalker” ….. one of my absolute favorite movies. I’m a huge MJ fan. I’m an 80’s baby, MJ was our HERO!! I can’t tell you how many times I watched this video and that movie!
For this video/film & further stage productions, Jackson was inspired by stage magicians/illusionists, so he actually had someone design special illusion slots on the floor obscured to the audience but he & his dancers shoes could fit so they could pull off the leaning effect. No strings attached indeed.
You should do "Beat It" next. That's my favorite MJ song😁
YESSSSS !!!!!
I always forget about Beat it when it comes to his most popular songs lol
@@supersmashmaster43 it’s literally the best behind Billie Jean
I spent my youth trying to pretend I didn't like Michael Jackson because I was all about metal. But it was a lie. Dude's sound was magic and the laws of physics did not apply to him.
And I'm glad people are experiencing his music and his art even now.
Michael is only one, which natural born dancer! Dance flowed in his veins instead of blood! Dance is his DNA!
Michael actually had a U.S. Patent for the shoes he wore in this video. The shoes are what allowed him to be able to lean forward like that.
Jack Reacts Actually this is incorrect. He used strings in the video but those special shoes in live performances for the lean.
He had shoes made to do that lean move
This is one of my fav MJ videos!!! The dancers KILLED THAT SHIITTTT OMGG
Michael killing it with the dance moves, this is how music videos should be 👏👏👏
The video is part of a film , Moonwalker .
Most influencial dancer of all time .
So i guess you will do the Super Bowl for the annversary ? I think the Motown 25 performance that propulsed him as the King Of Pop that night , would be more fit for anniversary , the whole live performance with his brothers was ICONIC !
This is a Complete Performer , This Man Influenced decades, of Dancers and Singers. And will forever influence them, in some way , shape or form 🔥🔥🔥🔥.
This my favorite music video of all time Michael did his thing
Michael Jackson will forever be in a class of his own ! His moves were always on point and crisp !!!! The GOAT ...
Personally, I think the lean rivals the moonwalk. I loved this song and the video, I'm glad you gave it a watch. I look forward to the next video.
There was no strings. I have seen it done live on stage ln 1992.
@@robja19 he patented shoes to do it live from 1992 onwards
This was from the "Moonwalker" movie, i remember i even had the Moonwalker game on Sega Genesis as a kid, lol.
Yes Michael and the dancers really bent that forward with special shoes that Michael created with 2 other inventors. There was a slot in the heel that engaged with a peg which could be raised and protruded through the stage floor when activated. Michael is just a pure genius.
With MJ, no dull moments. 👍
Best entertainer of all time. That face you make though when you’re enjoying it. Lol

@JoG2 I agree, audio of wanna be startin somethin first. And definitely the full version of the Bad video, and definitely the video for Billie Jean
@@JackReacts904 You can also react to MJ performing Billie Jean at the Motown 25th Anniversary celebration. Here are some highlights:
- outstanding LIVE PERFORMANCE
- 1st time performing Moonwalk
- fantastic and hyped up crowd witnessing greatness
Amazing. When this video came out, I was in AWE...I wanted to watch it, over and over...lol. Looking back - I think all those Jackson variety specials he did as a teenager (youtube it)...led to this. Where MJ was doing skits with his family, dancing to Broadway tunes. MJ remains - THE gold standard. Bar none.
This vid was choreographed by Jeffrey Daniels, formerly of the trio group Shalamar, who’s hits you may want to check out. What many don’t know is that Jeffrey credited with teaching Michael a dance called, The Backslide’, which Michael got permission to call Moon Walk.
Congrats on 20k, inwards and upwards👏👏Michael was just on his own level , no one will ever touch him!🔥🔥🔥👑👑👑👑 please Janet feedback next🙏

Probably the best video ever shot. Thanks to a Michael Jackson. Incredible how he once looked.
There will never be another entertainer like Mike he was truly the king
So excited for this one!!😍
I love that we got to watch you see MJ do “the lean” for the first time. I remember watching this video on Much Music when it first came out and just thinking that he was absolute magic..
Mj was the ultimate perfectionist
The first time I saw this video was when I put in the Moonwalker VHS tape, and I was utterly bulldozed. I remember being totally overwhelmed by the dancing, lighting, drama... JUST EVERYTHING.
Can you react to this time around by michael jackson and tabloid junkie by michael jackson.
Ohh man, "This Time Around." One of many underappreciated and largely overlooked tracks from HIStory! And a personal MJ favorite.
I smile so much when people react to MJ videos for the first time ❤️
MJ, the greatest Entertainer the world has ever seen.
I've never seen such perfection in a video
omg yes !!! I WAS WAITING FOREVER FOR THIS 😭
Me too
You so need to React to the song Why by 3T featuring Michael Jackson! The song is amazing
Michael designed shoes to assist with The Lean . Posts came up out of the floor and inserted into the heels of his shoes. No one else copied him because he got a patent on the design. His ankles still had to be incredibly strong even with the special shoes.
