Those of us of a certain age cannot listen to this song without our eyes getting misty. Brings back the memories of a time past. Kojo Tibu was the celebrated music master of St Francis Training College, Hohoe and had a very good college choir. The likes of Ken Kafui may have had inspiration from Tibu who belonged to that great tradition of Ewe composers of the age. Their works live on and on and on. The male soloist did a great job here. Kudos to him. The whole arrangement is great. Tibu himself may have approved, I am sure...

It is sad the gentleman singing wasn't thought his pronunciations well enough . I know he is not an ewe though but for unique piece of this kind should have been a bit lyrics well pronounced. But quodos to the general performance .My thoughts .
O Lord, I thought I'm the only one. Right from boyhood I heard this song on GBC Radio and loved it, wvwn though I didn't know the lyrics nor the meaning. About 30 mins I saw this video with the lyrics and as I happily sang along I found myself tearing up and choking, though still not understanding it. All I know is that it's one of the patriotic songs of old.
