That theme music, it's building to a crescendo, bright and cheery...then we resolve suddenly not only to the stree level of the 'neighborhood' but a slight melancholic and nostalgic interlude which gets me emotional every time. It's Vito's pretend life as a citizen and Connery,as his unrepentant thief father and Mathew Broderick as the son looking for His own between the shadows cast by these two men. Perfect film.
i remember watching this with my father when i was a kid. my ol man always laughed when sean called dustin a "midget guinea." great movie! and the writing was typical NY sarcasm. love it...
Just added this to our "Movie scenes/Trailers based Off of Novels" playlist...had to. The novelist Vincent Patrick also wrote the screenplay. Literature is a beautiful thing. ;)
Been looking for this soundtrack online, for a long time and trying to search from EBAY, but no luck..if somebody can tell where I can find it, let me know..awesome movie..too bad people are allways looking to see these movies online..I just bought this on DVD and it only cost like less than 5euros inclunding the shipment, so that's like maybe 7dollars..

Truly exceptional music. This whole movie deserves more attention than it gets.
I love this film and think it's criminally under appreciated. I just wish that I could find a cut of the final scene involving O Danny Boy
