    In the late 90s I loved this album as much as I loved the Chemical Brothers or the Prodigy at the time. I still know every beat and boop even after all these years ♥️

    this absolutely ruled and is so underated. used to drive long trips in my car and crank this up. led to two different speeding tickets back in the late 90s.

    This sends shivers up my spine and goosebumps all over me!!! Been listening to this album since I was a teenager! My dad introduced me to this music when I was young and I was a very lucky young woman to have a father who knew what good sounds and bass is all about! I miss my dad so much! I love you DAAAAAD!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    I put this on the jukebox in Duke Mack's on the Atlantic City Boardwalk circa 1998. Nobody knew about electronic dance music (EDM) bu some of those who heard it, became instantly in love.

    Are there other bands/producers who boast similar hard-hitting beats meshed into an overloaded soundscape of "spacefunk"? What genre in electronic music is this? Even in the nineties, this was a rare encounter to me.

    • @0ooTheMAXXoo0
      @0ooTheMAXXoo0 Před 6 lety

      Drum-and-bass I'd say for general genre. Chemical Brothers do something similar to your description so maybe big beat? Metropol by Lunatic calm is an album that is kind of the more industrial version of this Headrillaz album I'd say. Different songs on the album fit different specific genres, there is big beat, jump up, straight DnB, hip-hop, spy-break...

      The genre was generally called big beat or chemical beats in the 90's. Introduced by the Chemical Brothers. Fatboy Slim is the other more famous exponent of this genre. I would say the early albums of The Prodigy have a bit of this style as well.

      @@MrMarkvergeer The fact that we’re really just here regurgitating the same bands does show it was ultimately a small scene. I thought I missed a lot. I would add Monkey Mafia, Leftfield, Eboman, Genaside II, DJ Omar Santana (“Tricked Out”).
