- Our Muslim friends claim that the authors of the 4 gospels are "anonymous." They say, "We don't know who wrote the gospels, and Christians base their faith entirely on a book that cannot be verified."
Is that so?... Let's see what history has to say about that!

The earliest copy of the 4 canonical gospels are in Koine Greek. Do you have the verbatim word of god in the original Aramaic? No you don't have. The gospels you have now are words of men not God.

Schools? Not necessarily. The bigger problem is actually lack of history being taught within _churches,_ especially American Protestant sects. Freedom of religion is a double-edged sword, as it has allowed centuries of people in North America with no knowledge of Christianity's philosophical, theological, and historical traditions make things up as they go along. The most egregious and commonly replicated heresies have historically been moral legalism and Biblical literalism, the latter in particular giving rise to certain heresies that unwittingly misrepresent the Bible's meaning/how its various books would have been understood by their original audience (the fact so many Protestant sects have also sworn by the KJV, easily the shoddiest Bible translation still in circulation, for centuries only further compounds this). The US's frontier mentality has been disastrous with regard to our liturgy, producing generations of churches teaching wrong lessons and all too often driving people from Christ.
The separation between church and state needs to be maintained, at least in the US. It is the churches themselves that need to clean house, bone up on ancient history, and share their findings with the public.

Let's not be deceived.
What does the time period matter? The Torah came 1000 years after Moses in a language they are not sure Moses wrote and through the hands of evil Israelites, as the Bible clearly says, who would change the scripture. It clearly has fabrications and was written by the same people who rejected Jesus but people still believe it's true and have complete faith in it. That's not logical at all.
The validity of the Gospels is to see Jesus and the disciples interact with their world, it names places and specific details.
Meanwhile, in the Quran Mecca is only mentioned once, and even worse, Mecca does not have a single archeological evidence prior to the 7th century. It's a fabricated city in the 7th century, and the corrupt government of Saudi Arabia has managed to silence this fact impeding archeological research from that area.
Is not convenient for them the truth to be discovered, however, evidence never lies.

God revealed his message to the angel Gabriel and Gabriel delivered it to Muhammad peace be upon him in a period spanning 23 years. Muslims memorised it and some wrote it down. Even if you remove all hardcopy or soft copy of the Quran now we can easily reproduced tomorrow because millions of Muslims have memorised the book cover to cover.

Well even their Islamic scholar Ibn Ishaq, (died around 767 AD), who wrote the oldest biography (called the “Sira” or “Sirat” سیره or سیرت ) of the false prophet of Islam, quotes John 15:23-16:1 and says that it is taken from the Gospel (Injeel) of Jesus Al Masih (Messiah), And that, the apostle John wrote down for Jesus’ followers, without a word of it being corrupted or unreliable.
He affirms the apostle John as the author of the fourth gospel. (see below)
"Among the things which have reached me about what Jesus the Son of Mary stated in the Gospel which he received from God for the followers of the Gospel, in applying a term to describe the apostle of God, is the following. John went to Ephesus, the city of the youths of the cave, and James to Jerusalem, that is, Aelia. Bartholomew was sent to Arabia, namely, the Hijaz; Simeon to the land of the Berbers in Africa. Judas was not then an apostle, so his place was taken by Ariobus. He filled in for Judas Iscariot after the latter had perpetrated his deed." (Tabari, History, Volume IV, p. 123;)
"Abu Ja'far says: They assert that after Tiberius, Palestine and other parts of Syria were ruled by Gaius, son of Tiberius, for four years. He was succeeded by another son, Claudius, for fourteen years, following which Nero ruled for fourteen years. He slew Peter and crucified Paul head down. For four months Botlaius [Vittelius] ruled thereafter. Then Vespasian, father of Titus whom he sent to Jerusalem, ruled for ten years. Three years after his rise to power, forty years after the ascension of Jesus, Vespasian sent Titus to Jerusalem. Titus destroyed it and slew numerous Israelites in his wrath over the fate of Christ ..." (Ibid., p. 126;)

In one narration of the prophet peace be upon him, when a particular verse was revealed, the prophet requested a different way of reciting the verse so that it's easier for people to remember. He repeatedly ask for variation until in total it was 7 Ahruf. Now a combination of the 7 Ahruf resulted in 10 qiraats. A variation might mean, using a different dialect, use of synonyms, a long verse may be spilt into two verses, using words to increase emphasis etc. Essentially the message in the particular verses with variation does not change . There is no such things as removal/addition of whole verses or surahs unlike in Christianity where the protestants, Catholics or the ethiopian orthodox have different number of books. Whatever the case the responsibility of making the Quran into a "book" form lies with uthman. He is the most equipped with resources to ensure the Quran is authentic and the most to lose if messed up. The earliest carbon dated manuscript of the Quran conforms to the copy of the Quran we have today as well as the 10 qiraats. Also there are many things wrong in your comments about the Quran and I may add even with the videos based on Quranic or biblical scholarship. Allah knows best.

Even if we never knew who wrote the gospels it’s important to know that both old and new testament have fulfilled prophecy. No other religion in the world ever dared to give prophecy. Prophecy is a simple but most powerful way to validate the legitimacy of Gods Holy Word.
Islam also have prophecy.

The Bible still contains some true words and prophecies since it still has some of the words of God but the problem is with the words that are not from God or Jesus. So we would have to validate parts of it and not others; clearly, as some parts were false, as noted by Biblical scholars.
Yes, Islam has prophecy as well and nothing of it has been proven false yet; but each year we find it proves itself more to be true. It also fulfills prophecies in the Bible and no one who believes in the Bible, knowing full well what it is and contains, could reject the Quran or Islam since they have more proof than the Bible.

I was once one of those who doubt, but lately something has been chasing me-or rather looking for me. Now I know it's a calling. As I reread the Bible, decide to reattend Mass and watch your channel, I feel it more clearly than ever-I must get back on track towards Christ. Now I believe doubt must get us to answers, but we mustn't seek doubt for the mere sake of it.

@@adsomelk-hb7xd funny that you say that, cause God literally works in absolutes. You either get to heaven by purely grace, or purely works which are absolutely perfect. No one has the second one, and grace doesn’t mix with works(romans 11:6) so it’s only by grace that someone gets to heaven. Not by works(sacraments, or repenting of sins, or whatever) but through grace alone by faith alone in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Glad I got this recommended, I really enjoy videos on the gospels being anonymous because it just isnt true. Sadly, scholarship requires you to not be different than the rest of the scholars. So if you aren't in agreeance with the anonymity of the gospels, you cannot get work published or agreed on. God bless you!
