I remember looking at magazines...seeing the clothes they wore...jewelry...I never thought I would retire at age 50 in 2019...and be able to purchase the same things in life legally..man thanks to God and my parents..for making it possible...

Unsung. Underrated. Folks don't understand how HUGE Whodini was. 100% not talked about enough. They dropped when I was 9ish, and yeah, my mother loved them. Ecstasy's voice and flow, Jalil's pen game, Grandmaster Dee's skills - they were perfect, and had JAMS.

Peace to Drew, given all that he's been through in the game its great to see him on Sway looking healthy.

These guys Whodini, along with Run DMC, Fat Boys, UTFO, and LL Cool J were staples in my life. I was 15 when I first heard Big Mouth, Freaks Come Out At Night, 5 Minutes Of Funk, and Friends. I knew they could rap and the beats were dope but it wasn't until I was in my 30s that I realized just how much more mature Whodini was than any other group at the time... Real life adult subject matter. I was in my 40s when I realized they were the very first Platinum rap act and Jalil wrote everything. I'm 55 now and I'm still being enlightened and fascinated Whodini... One of the greatest music Legends of all time. Salute. đŸ«Ą

Whodini was way ahead of their time! Even people who didn’t really like rap back then jammed to it! Friends, One Love, Freaks come out at night & 5 minutes to Funk rocked in adult clubs back then! Which is why they toured with RNB groups of the time! They were huge! People now have no idea! Underrated doesn’t begin to describe these guys!
